Ordered take-out from here, and couldn't be happier with my decision. They served up a top-notch lobster roll at a reasonable price, all the while with good safety precautions. They served the lobster in a separate cup, which is the first time I've seen that done - and I actually liked it. It allowed me to distribute the lobster over the bun as I wanted it. Same for the butter - also DIY. I'll certainly be ordering from here next time I'm in Wayne, Maine.

I got the Pocasset sandwich and it literally the best sandwich I have ever had! You really can't beat the quality.

After a Jibe cycling ride last weekend, we got the chance to enjoy some catered Mancini sandwiches…read moreto celebrate Jibe's recent move to a new cycling studio. The sandwich was an amazing surprise. I had the opportunity to try Mancinis a few weeks back with some friends and was unfortantely unable to attend. The ham and roast beef sandwich that I had was 10/10. The bread is something I'll be thinking about for a while now (until I get to try it, again)!

Fantastically large sandwiches with fresh and house-made ingredients. The Italian was big enough to…read moreshare and even could do it as 1/3s or 1/4s if you had a smaller appetite. The food and bread here is delicious and that's why it's a five star. BUT I have qualms about the following: - My SOLE interaction with staff was one half shouting "Did you order ahead?" No "Hi", "Let us know if you need help", "Have you been here before if not you order on the screen", nothing. Literally the order was put on the counter with nothing said. Had to explain to the person behind us how to order. - A tip screen despite my being the cashier who ordered and customized my items and grabbed my own sides and got my own drinks and paid for it all at the kiosk. Sandwhich maker isn't a tipped job. Pay your employees more if they aren't making enough. - $3.25 for a bag of chips that run $1.25 retail and $4 for a Sanpellegrino is unhinged. Grab a soda and chips at the Citgo across the corner and save yourself the trouble. Two chips and two drinks was 2/3 the cost of the entire sandwhich.

That place is still the undisputed champion in our book, and Black Bloc isn't a close second. But it is a genuinely pleasant stop in Maine's BBQ landscape. The owners at Black Bloc are incredibly kind, and the restaurant itself is adorable -- beautifully decorated, spotless, and clearly cared for. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel welcome. The Mean Greens are the star of the show. Truly fantastic. The cornbread is generously portioned and perfectly moist, exactly how cornbread should be. The baked beans are straightforward baked beans -- nothing fancy, but solid. The ribs, though, were the disappointment. They were fall‑off‑the‑bone tender, which we appreciated, but they had almost no flavor and absolutely no smokiness. We honestly found ourselves wondering if they were even smoked at all. Barbecue sauce was a requirement, not an option. Even with the rib letdown, the overall experience was warm and enjoyable, and we'd go back -- especially for those Mean Greens and that cornbread. Black Bloc is a friendly, tidy, welcoming spot.

The restaurant has about 8 tables and you order at the counter. They have a variety of well priced sandwiches that are absolutely loaded with meat, onions, and pickles. The other choice is platters with two sides, such as coleslaw and mac and cheese, plus a hunk of hot cornbread. The servings are very generous. I ordered the rib platter, which had five meaty ribs. Outstanding. Their bbq sauce is tasty but mild. People kept talking about their burnt ends, but they were out that day. There's always a next time. And, rest assured, there will be a next time.
