My girlfriend found Apple Valley Bakery and brought some home so my experience is just on the food alone. I am not able to comment on the service or the appearance of their location. I am not sure where they source their blueberries, but they are phenomenal in both the scones and the blueberry muffins. Let's start with the muffins. The muffin itself is very dense and heavy. I have mixed emotions about which I prefer because a denser muffin tends to require more milk, but is also very filling. A lighter muffin requires less milk and I could potentially have 2 in a sitting if I was hungry. The muffin itself didn't have much flavor with the exception of the blueberries. The blueberries are what sold it for me. Where I am very impressed is their blueberry scones. I would drive to Apple Valley Bakery just for their scones. They have that nice slightly overcooked crust on the bottom (which I like), it's very fluffy in the middle, the blueberries make it and there is a light drizzle of a glaze on the top. It's one of the best scones I have had in a long time. Most bakeries tend to create a scone that is too dense, but here they do it just right. If you love a good scone, check Apple Valley Bakery out. You'll love it just for the scones alone! I'll take pictures next time I go. read more

This review is based solely on purchase of donuts. I bought an assortment (6) of cake style donuts to go. Service was good and I was greeted as I approached the counter. They have a great selection of baked goods along with the donuts and ample seats for patrons to sit and enjoy themselves. As for the donuts I found them all to be slightly over cooked, dry and crumbly. While I feel they are made with good quality ingredients and they present well, the dryness takes away from the taste and texture that you look for in a good donut. I would like to try out some other products that they have to offer in the future. read more

I found Apple Valley after searching for a bakery roughly on the route home to Boston from the lakes region and got lucky. The people were friendly and there was a good selection without being overwhelming. Everything we tried was delicious, which included a couple varieties of apple donuts and a great lemon blueberry scone. Although we didn't partake, they also offer breakfast sandwiches and some other hot items. Definitely worth stopping in for a quick breakfast if you're in the area. read more

Very cute little bakery stop for breakfast. In addition to donuts, turnovers, hand-pies, and terrific coffee, they also had a terrific quiche available. Clearly a place favored by the locals. The staff was very pleasant, and the decorations were eclectic. Several tables to enjoy your food. Oh, and did I mention the pies and cheesecake! Just happened to stop by for a quick bite while in the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection of baked goods. It made it hard to choose. We ordered Quiche, egg salad sandwich, several cookies, brownies, cheesecake, coffee and some treats for my dogs. Everything was fresh, delicious and very satisfying. The decor was charming and eclectic. We will definitely go again. My pups loved their bacon and maple treats! read more

Ughhh... I bought a "Bismarck ".... Very disappointed. Be aware: theirs are made with choux pastry. If I had wanted a cream puff or an eclair, I would have purchased one. Any Bismarck I have ever eaten has been a type of donut ...one bite was enough for me. Yuck! Very disappointed... read more
