Green Door Home Inspections

Green Door Home Inspections

The team at Green Door could not have been better to work with. Cody was incredibly quick to get me…read moreover a quote when I sent over an inquiry. The online portal that they use is extremely easy to use and navigate. When it came time for the actual inspection, Jeff was on time, communicative, and extremely detail-oriented. The final report was delivered to me within minutes of Jeff finishing at the house in an easy-to-read format that I sent over to the builder of my home. There are so many unreliable companies out there, but I am so pleased to say that Green Door stands out from the pack as somebody you want in your back pocket when it comes negotiation time on your home purchase. I would highly recommend them for your next home inspection!

I was supremely impressed by the work Cody put into my home inspection. This is my 3rd home and…read morethis inspection was by far the most thorough, and immaculately documented. It's very clear that Cody is an organized professional. From his equipment, care while working in and around the house, prompt communication, and well-presented report, I felt like he treated my inspection with the same level of care he would put into his own home purchase. Going above and beyond, Cody stuck around after the inspection to walk me through aspects of the home I wasn't familiar with and building techniques and code to be aware of when considering home renovations. I am beyond pleased and happy to recommend this veteran-owned business to anyone looking for a true professional home inspector.

As a first time home buyer I had been told by many friends and family to expect the inspection…read moreprocess to be less than desirable. Luckily, I chose Scott Home Inspection and my experience was great! The office staff was professional and helpful, and my inspector (Jeff Trousil) was on time, kind, and patient. He went through his list with me, took the time to explain his findings, and showed me things that I would not normally understand. He was quite thorough and I felt very empowered and knowledgeable after our meeting. I highly recommend Scott Home Inspection to anyone needing their services. If I ever go through this process again I will definitely call Scott Home Inspection.

Our first inspection by Scott's was excellent. Extremely detailed & in depth. That's why we came…read moreback. The most recent one was a different story. The inspector seemed to gloss over many things & tried to downplay issues without evidence. We were called prior & told our inspector would take only two hours to finish an inspection that normally takes longer -- I think he glossed over many things as a result. Specifics we found after moving in that a visual inspection should have caught: * An interior door on the second floor with visible crack/damage from being forced. The report says interior doors were tested. This one isn't noted anywhere. * Mouse droppings under the kitchen sink -- a cabinet he opened & photographed -- & elsewhere in the home. No mention in the report. We now have an active rodent problem we didn't know about at closing. * The front door handle sticks & fights you when unlocking. Entry door locks & latches are explicitly listed as inspected in his own report. On top of that, three window coverings fell off the wall the first time we pulled the cords. Technically outside inspection scope -- but it speaks to the overall condition of a house we were told had basically nothing wrong with it. The in-person review made it worse. We were told there was basically nothing wrong with the house, & our questions were treated as an inconvenience. He seemed annoyed, arrogant & unkind. When asked, he explicitly said he didn't see evidence of mice -- verbally & on the report -- leading me to believe he was lazy & sped through it. Not characteristics of a great inspector. His own report lists 59 maintenance items & 8 repair recommendations -- so the verbal summary & the written report told two different stories. When I hire an inspector, I'm more impressed by people who are nit picky than forgiving. This is a huge purchase so I prefer someone who's kind, willing to take the time to make sure he doesn't miss anything at all & looks out for us. There are less expensive inspectors out there who are less forgiving than Scott's was this time around. I pay for anal retentive. That was not my experience. Worst of all? I asked for a refund & they flat out refused. It's possible they could do the same for you. I don't think we'll use Scott's ever again. I wouldn't recommend them & ESPECIALLY not Todd Brualdi for inspection services. I'm disappointed in Scott's leadership. Once upon a time, (in my opinion) it felt like a well ran firm that cared about their clients. That's not my opinion, anymore.

I found EnvioCore based on great reviews and I'm so glad I did…read more We were in the process of buying a house and the seller had tried to remediate stachybotrys (toxic black mold) himself with some shower spray and spray paint Staci understood that we were in a time crunch to evaluate the extent of the damage and went WAY out of her way to provide us with timely air samples. She communicated with me the entire time and was honest and hilarious. I feel like she's a trusted friend now! She even went back the next day to grab some more samples for remediation purposes. And this is a busy lady. She provided excellent info to our mold remediators (All Dry, another great company). She and Mike were in constant contact, so I didn't have to be the middleman. She came back after remediation and just hearing her voice and her optimism gives me hope that this is finally behind us. She also squeezed in an asbestos test in the middle of the project! I would highly recommend EnvioCore to anyone! Update: I'm still raving about EnvioCore but their billing practices are a little aggressive. I received an invoice on 9/12 as well as a phone call that I had an invoice. Great- I planned to pay it on my first day off. On 9/16 I got a text from my realtor that said EnvioCore had contacted him "looking for us" and wanted us to know if we didn't pay by day 30 we would be going to collections. Wow. I paid it on 9/16 as I planned to do. I had paid 3 prior invoices on time so hadn't given them a reason to doubt me. So great testers, the financial department could use a customer service refresher course though.

They were honest, transparent with me which I really appreciate. I had some questions about lead…read moretesting and they were straight shooters with me. Definitely recommend them and will use their business in the future.
