Not knowing any better, I agreed and paid for it all. Totaling to $154. I come to find out later that the steering wheel reset is supposed to be a step in the alignment process and the steering wheel reset doesn't actually affect if the car pulls to the left or right. Basically I got taken advantage of as someone who didn't know any better. Not coming back.

Years ago I had an SUV that just died while I was getting gas nearby. I walked to McBroom's since it was the closest shop (right across a side street actually). I asked if I could use their phone to call a tow truck, but one of their mechanics volunteered to come and look at my SUV and try to start it for me. This went on for about an hour until he finally decided to tow it with his own truck to their garage. The next day, my car was running so I picked it up and drove it to my side of town. It died after about 20 minutes. So why such a glowing review if my truck/SUV wasn't actually fixed? I was charged nothing for the time and effort that this mechanic put into my car. Yes, he didn't totally fix it, but he did what he could to the best of his abilities and for FREE!! Most people in the Houston area wouldn't even bother to look at one of your troubled autos without agreeing to a $75-100 fee first! I guess McBroom's is just proof that while we all complain about mechanics there are still some good ones out there. You may just need to get out to the suburbs to find them!

I had previously been taking my vehicles to the Mazda dealership in Webster, but after multiple attempts to reach my former Service Advisor -- calls, emails, and messages -- I never received a response. Unfortunately, it was time for me to find a different location. Once Russell & Smith became my choice, I asked AI who I should request as my Service Advisor. Stephen Rodriguez really stood out based on the reviews I found. When I first met Stephen, I told him, "It's your fault why I'm here!" And after dealing with him, I can honestly say the reviews were right. Stephen was great and an absolute pleasure to work with. He kept me updated throughout the entire process and made sure I knew what was going on with my vehicle. As for the actual service, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. My A/C compressor had failed, and the repair was handled very quickly. I was able to get a loaner within about two hours, and my CX-30 was ready the very next day with a new compressor installed. A big thank you to Stephen Rodriguez, the service technician, and the entire Russell & Smith Mazda Service Department for taking care of me and getting me back on the road with working A/C! Was told to hold, was disconnected, and was ultimately told they'd call me back. I said I was coming to get it and take it someplace else and was told I couldn't. Then I was advised that the transmission has been taken to a different shop because they didn't have a mechanic there. "TRANSMISSIONS" is part of their name, I wasn't told they didn't have a mechanic there that could rebuild a transmission. I feel that both David and Raheem strung me along for the past 3 weeks.... both had said it would be done "Wednesday"... three Wednesdays later and I STILL don't have my van or even know for sure what failed with the transmission. I'm furious and I don't appreciate the hostility that David projected on to me when I asked for answers. As it stands, they'll call me Friday.‍‍‍‍

It took them 5 weeks to finally get the $80 part in and repair it. When we got the car back, it was filthy on the inside and out. The carburetor definitely shows signs of a fire. They had the gall to say he needed a new carburetor because it wouldn't start. He told them the carb was almost brand new and nothing was wrong with it and they never mentioned it again. It was also a half tank of gas less than when it was dropped off. I won't even bring it back to have any of this corrected, I have no trust in this shop. Every time they said they would call me back with an answer, the literally never did. My husband had to drive there twice to get an update in person.
