Like most people I called Luis when I had a problem, I couldn't get the power back on, even after flipping the breakers. He came right away and had to trace the problem from multiple angles. There was an issue with the ground in one of the 10 outlets on the line. He fixed the problem and charged a reasonable fee but that's not the end of the story. My house was built in 1987 and since we moved in (2005), we've had a few of these hard to find issues. When I asked Luis what I could do to fix the problems once and for all, he offered a simple and affordable solution. He came back the following week and replaced all outlets, checked the wiring and tightened connections in every switch and replaced all of my old breakers with new ones. It was a complete overhaul. He and Jesus were here all day and got the job done. Again he charged a fair price for his work. He also discovered and fixed 3 major issues that were caused by previous contractors. I didn't have the same experience as other reviewers. I wish I could say I did. In the beginning I really wanted Luis to do my lighting because he was going to get it done right. He did the wiring well so I can't complain about that. However, when he installed vent fans he refuses to vent them saying it is the contractor's job. I believe it should be included in the price of installing a fan. What good is it without the venting? Secondly he installed the connections for the lights and I said I would take care of the fixtures. He took this to mean He wasn't responsible for installing the switches. How are we supposed to use the lights? Of course he says sure he will come out and do it for more money. Every time I questioned anything that was his response. It seemed a little unreasonable to me. I am a designer and I think I will stick with my regular guy from here out. read more

I hired Luis to replace my under-counter lights in the kitchen. It's was rather complicated with four transformers and I had no idea what lights were powered by which transformer. He figured it all out, replaced the four transformers and lights where needed. In addition, he fixed a few plugs that were not working. However, most impressive was his communication about when he would arrive and his follow through. I am following up a review I wrote on October 29th, 2020, after an excellent fan installation. I called A Plus Electric to replace all my recessed lighting, including dimmer switches. All the lighting in my house is recessed, as most homes are, built in the past 10 years. I noticed the original lights were going out. I was concerned how to change the bulbs, as several were in high, vaulted ceilings and others, requiring a ladder to access. At my "maturing" age, I thought it be best to swap out approximately 50 lights to LED lighting. I called Luis, the owner and made an appointment to do the work. He was busy, but, in spite of his schedule, he was able to accommodate me. Luis and his assistant, Jesus, arrived on time. They both wore masks and put on shoe covers and worked from 8:30am to 5pm. The installation went seamlessly. All the while, Luis and Jesus answered my questions with patience and explained the work progress without being prompted. Due to the job requiring a longer installation process, than anticipated, they were always consistently nicely tempered and in good spirits. At day's end, there was still additional installation required to complete the job. Jesus returned the following day, working diligently and explaining how the installation of both recessed lighting and dimmers paired together and explained details of their effectiveness. I so appreciated his volunteering an educational insight to this installation, without my asking. All the while, Jesus always had a smile on his face and both Jesus and Luis's good spirts about some additional requests I added on to a very long process were so very much appreciated. I can't say enough how very satisfied I am with A Plus Electric, Luis and Jesus. I would give 10 stars if given the option :)) 2020 has been a challenging year for all. Luis and crew installed a replacement chandelier and 2 ceiling fans. They inspected the attic to check if reinforcement is needed for the chandelier, unfortunately, wasn't able to access it due to a beam, but he guaranteed that its okay by just replacing to bigger screws, so we trust him for his work experience that the support is good to hang a heavier chandelier. So far, I can say that they did a good job, they know what their doing and cleaned the work area before leaving. Warranty he gave is as long as we live in the house and no one touches his work, of course, he is the only one we'll call if there's any work or problem in the future. Thanks guys! read more

Over the years we have had a few electricians work in our house, but there is no one as efficient as A Plus Electric. A few years ago we had all new lighting installed throughout the house and Luis didn't waste any time on this big job. I would definitely not recommend this company after the poor service we received. They had to come back several times because they kept ordering the wrong parts for our new chandelier as well as the dimmers and switches in our dining room. The last time they came (for the 3rd time to install the same fixture!), they smashed one of our existing dimmers making it unusable at that point. We called them immediately to inform them that our chandelier still didn't work and they broke our dimmer. The owner, Luis, informed us that he was on a job in San Diego and would fix the problem when his job was done. Four months later, we still had not heard from him. We called and texted and received no response. We finally called the Lighting Store that we purchased all of our lighting from (who had referred us to this electrician) and they felt so bad for his poor service and lack of professionalism that they sent out their own electrician to fix our issues at no cost! read more

LUIS OLMOS, owner of A PLUS ELECTRIC, was referred to me by Light Bulbs, Etc. -which is a pretty high recommendation. I was told how fabulous he was and he didn't disappoint. The sensor on one of my outdoor fixtures was burned out and had to be replaced. I brought it to Lightbulbs Etc, they had the part, and were able to fix it quickly. LUIS made it a point to come back to me on the weekend after his son's track meet, because he knew that I was leaving town and had a sitter staying at my home. It was important to have all my outdoor patio lights working in the backyard as that's where we walk my little dog at night. Coyotes and bobcats have been known to appear in our neighbourhood so I keep the yard well lit. LUIS got everything installed quickly, & professionally. He knew what he was doing from the get-go. I'm going to have him correct all the problems with my outdoor lighting as well as recommend him to all my friends and neighbors.
