Liked the efficient service provided by Darell. Responded promptly - same day. Problem was time sensitive - half the house had no power, including car charger and internet. He was very knowledgeable - picked out likely problem based on photo of fuse box. Breakers had worked lose and stopped functioning correctly. Did the repairs for say $125. I contacted a few places from Yelp including Dew Electric to get a quote to add some neutral wires to my junction boxes so that I could install some smart switches/dimmers. All the other places said "it depends", which makes sense since all homes are different. I just wanted a ballpark. Instead Darrel emailed me back and told me to send him a picture of my junction box so I did. He informed me that I already had neutral wires. They were just hiding behind all the other wires. Found Dew Electric here on Yelp. I needed two 3-way switches replaced because I had put in the wrong types of switches when upgrading my condo. Darrel came out and took a look and informed me of my mistake. He didn't have the switches I had used, but he ordered them, and then came back out a week later to replace them. No extra charges for having to come out twice, just a standard service call plus parts. Price was very fair. Quick responses when I called or texted. He was happy to answer any questions I had and give me quotes for some other work I was considering. I found Darrell via a Yelp search and called him up to help with adding 2 external outlets to power my landscape lighting transformers. He was extremely easy to talk to, patient and came out quickly to give me an in-person estimate. While at my house he also noticed some old electrical work that wasn't to code and suggested we fix. I will note that he was extremely honest/helpful in recommending things that we should do vs. things that technically could be improved but that perhaps weren't worthwhile. He got the job completed in just a few hours, the work is flawlessly neat and he also, free of charge, ran a new ground wire to an outbuilding for me. While I'm always weary of a non-personal review he's one of the best service people who I've ever dealt with. I'll be calling him back shortly for another project and highly recommend him. As an old wireman from back in the day, I'm very picky about who I hire to do electrical work at my home. We did a kitchen remodel recently, and I thought I could do all the electric work myself. Had a need to move a cable outlet and quad electrical outlet to accommodate new media niche being installed. After doing my homework and getting several bids I agreed to use Darell from Dew Electric. Great guy, down to earth and no nonsense at by far the most reasonable price. Came in took 2 minutes to evaluate the job and and got right to work. During the process he identified the location of copper piping and a clean out drain and made sure I was aware of there location so when the cabinet installers came out they would not punch a nail or screw through in those locations. Darryl responded right away, asked me a few questions and worked me into his schedule in two days! He is the nicest guy, and knows his stuff. Wanted a smoke detector changed out as it was ten years old, and a GFI switch in the backyard kept being tripped . Turns out the whole GFI box was rusted out but he got me up and running and we made another appointment for the replacement. He even is going to put the new one in and connect it to a switch in the house so I can turn the fountain off without digging around in the dirt. Super pleased ! read more
