We FaceTimed him (after seeing all of his five star Yelp reviews) to show him our problem, and he gave immediate advice, which we followed. He said he would be out first thing in the morning. He was! We had to replace a few circuits that were fried and decided to do a full breaker box maintenance (to prevent this from happening again) because it probably hadn't been serviced...ever...in 25 years. Nick went far over and above expectations. He threw in upgrading a garage outlet while he was here and put in a whole house surge protector at a very discounted rate since we went with the full breaker box maintenance package. Our breaker box now looks and works like it is brand new. His work comes with a two year warranty! Nick was extremely personable and honest. I added him to my contacts because we will be contacting him with any future electrical issues. We hired this electrician for several items during our move-in, including outlet work, lighting,…read moreand ethernet/WAP setup. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The biggest issue was lack of care for our home. No drop cloths were used, debris was left throughout the house, and cleanup was minimal. An outdoor trash can was brought inside and rolled across hardwood floors. Upstairs, dust and debris were left on carpet, in closets, and on bathroom floors. The job sites were consistently left messy at the end of each day. There were also multiple incomplete or questionable aspects of the work. The ethernet line in the bonus room was charged as a full install ($650), but the line was already present--this was only acknowledged after I raised it, and the explanation given was that the charge was for "testing." The WAP was not properly connected, and some outlets were left unfinished/dangling. For chandelier installs, drywall screws were used in base plates, which is not appropriate for final installation. Scheduling and communication were also problematic. On the day work was supposed to be completed (which required me to rearrange my work schedule, which he knew), the appointment was canceled that morning. A new availability was offered that conflicted with my schedule, despite that same day previously being unavailable. When I requested a partial refund for incomplete work, the response was that additional unbilled items offset the charges. That was not discussed in advance, and does not address the core concerns regarding workmanship, cleanliness, and professionalism. We ultimately hired another electrician to complete and correct the work so we could move in on time. While the cost itself was not the primary issue, the lack of attention to detail, respect for the home, and follow-through made this a poor experience overall. This was not the first time I remodeled a home, so I understand the unexpected, but given the overall experience being extremely substandard, I would not recommend this electrician.

I set up an appointment after confirming a few details about my house over the phone (like what type of roof shingles I had etc). They were pretty heavily booked so the first appointment I had was about two weeks out. On the day of install Manny came out, confirmed where I wanted the skylight put in, and gave me a rough time estimate. He also coordinated with some other contractors I had at the house doing work on my floor so that they would not interfere with each other, which was amazing that he was able to act as a go between. He got the work done in record time. It was a clean install, no problems, no messes, and he gave me a quick rundown on care (which is nothing) and then how I can address the solar nightlight that is in it once it needs to be replaced. I love the product and I love the company for how easy they made this happen. The cost of my skylight was $949 upfront - I think there was an extra cost if you use a credit card to pay but I paid in cash. I think for how bright my hallway is now that I can say it was worth the value.

I can start by saying I had Mike out for a service call for electrical issue. He was chatty and came across very hyper and was sweating profusely. He was very unprofessional and was interested in telling me about his personal life, than doing the job he came out for. He asked me if I was single,asked me out and well, I accepted. Now,I have found out this guy is a COMPLETE sham in business and in his life. He had a fiance he lived with, he complained about everything imaginable. Found out he wasn't single by any means, he lived with this Fiance, was also staying at his ex wife's house in a loft, then stayed in my home. This guy is literally doing drugs (speed) and he is homeless literally but he is now married to ANOTHER woman, all in approx 4 months time. He is supported by his mother (Oh yes) rarely goes to work and flakes on the scheduled jobs he does have. I found out he creeps on the women he does service calls for, just like he did me,and he is very much a PREDATOR IN EVERY SENSE. PLEASE be very aware & mindful if you must use him or his 1 man operation through your warranty company, ask for someone else or have a male be with you at your appointment! This woman he married has NO IDEA what this "man" is really about. Btw, please look up this man's public arrest records, he is an addict, a convicted multiple Felon, as well as multiple domestic abuse convictions. Done several times in prison (look it all up) and in other states. If I would have known this prior to doing my own research, I would have never let him in my home for a service call period! This info has been passed on to the proper channels. Just be aware of who is coming into your home everyone... read more

We were having a really annoying problem with our water heater - the breaker just kept tripping. So, we called a plumber to come and take a look, and he couldn't find anything wrong with the water heater itself. He told us we should probably get an electrician to check it out. That's when we got in touch with Mike, who owns Dorn Electric. Mike was really on the ball and came over right away to check out the problem. He figured out that the breaker was probably as old as our house, which was built back in the 70s, and that it needed to be replaced. While he was working on it, he found some other things that were wrong, like an old wasp nest and some corroded connectors, which we wouldn't have even known about if he hadn't pointed them out. Mike did a great job replacing the breaker with a new panel, and he got it done quickly without causing too much trouble. Ever since he fixed it, we haven't had any problems - the breaker doesn't trip anymore and we've had hot water all the time. We were really impressed with Mike's work - he was professional, quick, and did a great job. We highly recommend using Dorn Electric for any electrical work you need done. read more

Dorn was referred to us by our home warranty company. Always a bit leary about this type of referral, but to our great, pleasant surprise, not only was the receptionist a superb customer service individual, but the electrician, Mike, exceeded our expectations - by a whole lot! I've been in the construction industry, and it's quite rare to find a combination of a professional tradesman with mucho experience, along with a pleasant, outgoing personality. Electricians always know I know nothing about electrical work and they always overcharge and underperform; not here. Mike worked really hard on this lighting we were trying to get working, outside in this crazy summer heat. And he's a good guy to boot; we struck up a conversation while he worked and he was very friendly and easy-going - all the while yanking on wires and splicing this and that together. I just spoke with Mike from Dorn Electric. He is a sweetheart!!! My 86 year old mother lives in a mobile home and power to one quarter of the trailer went out. No breakers had tripped but we reset them all just to make sure. Still no power. My elderly mother was starting to panic when I called Mike. He took time to talk me through resetting the main breaker outside which restored power to normal. I offered to pay him but he declined. Mike, thank you for your kindness. I had some issues with my electrical outlets and called my Home Warranty to see if they would cover the work under warranty. Mike came out and fixed few of the issue and also assessed the other issues and He had to get authorization for the job, which he did himself from Home Waranty and he was back in a few days later to change 15 electric shockets with very ease. Got mikes info from a friend because I needed to hide cords behind my tv and the cord that ran from my tv all the way down the wall to the socket. Mike cut a hole in the wall to hide the cords and put a new socket behind the tv for me. He even patched up the hole after he was complete. So happy with his work! She contacted SCE and fortunately they were able to come out same day. Turns out her electric panel for her house was at risk of catching fire which could have essentially burned down her entire house. The helpful SCE rep recommended All Thingz Electric to my aunt and they were also able to come out same day. Their rep, Reed, was so helpful and sweet to her. He was able to make an interim fix that would hold her over until they could come out and replace the electric panel. They quoted her a reasonable amount and ended up blessing her beyond belief. Anthony, the owner, also reached out to her. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for being honest and not taking advantage of her especially as an elderly female. I will be recommending them to anyone and everyone.

We finally went to the wall mount for our old Tesla S that was charging with the wall plug. We already have 240 Volt outlet there. Hi Power Electric was the original contract electrical worker who worked on placing the plug in our driveway and it served us well for the past ten years. But Tesla Wall Mounted Charger is so convenient and we bought the $550 Universal Fast Charger with 40 Amp charger that can charge Hyundai Electric Vehicle if we do decide to upgrade in the future. I doubt that we will replace our beloved Tesla S from the best years of their initial production years from 2015! These two gentlemen are father and the son team and really do the best job. They are certified Tesla technicians and also know their craft very well. The labor charges are very reasonable and the son knows all about the newest Tesla technologies.
