Amazing experience! From the front office staff, to dental assistants to the dentists! I called asking if they would see me due to what I thought was a loose crown causing me pain. They got me in right away. Turns out I needed a new root canal on a separate tooth. They provided the service in a very timely manner and were caring and gentle during the procedure. I am not a fan of dentists in general due to an irrational fear (lol) but I had no reservations after the first visit. After the root canal, I had zero mouth pain. I do not recommend this "establishment." Second visit, I went in for some cavities filled. I'm a bit sensitive, so I told one of the quacks that I could feel pain while he was drilling. He said something to the extent of, " oh you're one of the sensitive ones..." and drained a whole syringe into my gums. I wouldn't complain, except its been over a week since this catastrophe and my lip is still numb! If you have Masshealth, they will shame you. Silly dude ended up referring me to Tufts dental school for a root canal. Worst place I've ever been, they need to be investigated!!! read more

This place is full of Scammers, Beware and stay clear! I needed a new Dentist in the area and chose this one. Bad mistake. The Doctor didnt talk much and the entire staff is full of young beautiful women that are from another Country somewhere. Ukraine or russia not sure. This is not about what I had done but about the Billing. After I had work done on my teeth, I received a bill in the mail to my home, It gave a rundown of everything I had done and what to expect my insurance to cover and what I was to pay at the bottom which was a small amount. I sent them the money for that small amount. I then received another letter in the mail a week later stating I owed more, the full amount with a big circle around the Entire total. I thought to myself, I have insurance surely it should have gone through. I then called A Plus Dentistry and got a woman on the phone that got around to telling me that My Insurance wouldnt pay for the dental work I had done, that my insurance denied paying for my dental work. Which didnt sound right to me at all. I called my Insurance and they told me that they never received a claim / bill from the Dentist office. I had to call multiple times back at A plus Dentistry as nobody was picking up the phone for Hours, Finally got a woman on the phone who said she wasnt the secretary but asked what I needed... Told her what happened, then asked if they had my correct insurance information? She said yes they should, I asked if she could go over it with me and she kept talking over me and saying it should be all set and they will try again with my insurance and if I dont hear anything back then everything was fine, she sounded a bit frantic, trying to get me off the phone. I waited a week and called back to make sure everything was ok but I couldnt get anyone on the phone for quite awhile, finally got someone and they said, they didnt know..... I met someone else recently that had the exact same experience from them awhile back. So the Scam goes like this. They take you in as a patient and you give your insurance info. They dont put in a claim after the work is done. They bill you to try and get you to pay, then they charge your insurance afterwards. Double dip. illegal. They make it like its such a hassle and wont communicate with you deflecting when you ask them about your bill. I thought they were acting a bit off but after seeing some reviews online and meeting someone that had the same problem, it seems this is exactly what they are doing. read more

I have been to see Dr. Lender in the past. All he cares about is making money even at the cost of a patient's health. I had a root canal and some fillings done. The crown that he put on my tooth after the root canal gave me a lot of trouble and pain so I went back. Dr. Lender told me that once the crown is set, there is nothing he can do and did not seem helpful or cooperative at all. So, anyway I continued to go back there for follow up because my tooth was still hurting me. Then one fine day, Dr. Lender tells me that he can remove my crown and put a new one and that I would have to cover the cost all over again out of pocket. I was shocked to hear him say this because he had previously mentioned that removing my crown was not possible. On top of all this scamming, the crown broke soon after because he had used an all-porcelain crown on a molar tooth although these are never used on molars. He did it because they are more costly which enabled him to earn more money. Stay away from Dr. Julian Lender and his unethical practices and lies. He only cares to make money at any cost! Worst dentist I ever went to and I wish I never had! read more

I have MassHealth and, after reading reviews on here of most of the dentists in the area that accept MassHealth, I became quite disappointed. Almost all of the other dentists accepting MassHealth had horror stories and it seemed that they were in business only to exploit the system while providing substandard care and pressuring patients into expensive cosmetic procedures. I was convinced I would have to settle for poor dental care if I didn't want to pay out of pocket. I was pleasantly surprised with A+ Dentistry. They had several appointments available for me to choose from and were able to get me in within a few days. Their website had all of the new patient forms available to fill out and print, so I didn't have to fill out tons of paperwork when I arrived and they got me right in at my scheduled appointment time with no waiting. I had a full set of x-rays, thorough cleaning, and even had 3 cavities filled and was in and out in an hour and 20 minutes. Dr. Perkins was very attentive and did most of the cleaning herself. She spent a lot more time with me individually than I am used to from my previous dentists and was very skilled and efficient with her work. She also didn't use any high pressure sales tactics for optional cosmetic procedures and gave me several options for the work I was having done. She even double-checked with the office manager to ensure it would be covered by my insurance before beginning any work. I highly recommend A+ Dentistry for anyone! Not only do they accept MassHealth and other major insurance carriers, but they have a great new patient promotion including a cleaning and x-rays for a very affordable price for those who aren't blessed with dental insurance. read more

Do not go here unless you want to get scammed. Went here for a routine cleaning and was told at the end of the appointment that I needed a root canal. This was very surprising to me since I didn't have any major pain. I was told to make an appointment right away and that it would cost me $600 out of pocket for this. As you can imagine, I went and got a second opinion when I went back home to my childhood dentist in NJ. He told me I had a MINOR cavity and filled it, costing me $50. I wish I could trust this place as the offices were conveniently located and clean, but after that experience I can't bring myself to go back. read more

I definitely would not recommend this place. I came here for a routine cleaning and check-up. I felt unsatisfied with Dr. Lender's care. After getting my teeth cleaned, Dr. Lender put on gloves, barely looked into my mouth for 5-10 seconds without picking up any tools, and quickly moved on to the next patient. He did not seem interested in inspecting thoroughly. He failed to comment on any of my chronic dental issues that I have dealt with/am dealing with that previous providers have always mentioned at each check up before. It made me feel like he wasn't interested at all in my dental health. I would save yourself the time and copay but visiting another provider. The dentist aside, the hygienist who helped me seemed like she was on a mission to make my gums bleed by flossing extremely hard and made snide comments about how I had to floss more (even though I floss every night!). As if she did not believe me, she had me demonstrate my flossing technique after the beating. My flossing passed her test. read more

The first appointment I made here was for an emergency (which turned out to not be an emergency), and the office made an exception to get me in the very next day. I was very impressed with this and with the dentist I saw. However last week I had an experience that made me question the business's integrity. I had a 9am appointment, but when I got there the office was locked and dark--it was completely closed and no one had bothered to call me to let me know. I called from the door and left a message, asking them to call me back to reschedule, but I never received a call. I was very confused, and even when I did call them back I was offered no explanation as to why the office wasn't open that day, or why I wasn't called to reschedule as I requested. I'd like to think better of this place, since the experiences I've had with the dentists have been good, but the customer service really needs some work! read more

Husband went to this practice as it is close to our home in Washington Square, received mediocre service, and then received an overcharge of bill for a routine dental visit that our insurance will not cover because they overbilled. Must be an error, we thought--well we have left several messages and called and no response to discuss why the bill was so high. Dr. Perkins now has a family dental practice in Somerville but I still go to A Plus. I now see Dr. Harelick and so does my boyfriend and we are quite happy with her. The office is small and a bit different from a larger more organized practice, but the quality and convenience is there (even if you don't get your reminder calls and mailings, and most doctors just moonlight there). I one time mistakenly booked an appointment for the wrong date and showed up one day late for an appointment I had actually missed the previous day (my fault completely) and while my doctor was out, Dr. Lender still squeezed me in and gave me my filling so I wouldn't have to reschedule and come back again. read more

I came to this office at the end of March for an oral exam and a cleaning. Despite my dental insurance I ended up paying $363.4 for 3 fillings. Good think I canceled a second appointment I had made to get another filling and asked for a second opinion, because it turns out that I don't have a cavity so I don't need a filling. I called twice asking to explain the bill, the second time was actually 10 minutes ago, and the explanation I got was still not fully satisfying. I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience and will definitely not go back. read more

This was my first dentist in a few years since I only recently got insurance that covered dental. I had picked Dr. Perkins mostly because of how close it was to my house, and when I got there I was very impressed. This is the first dentist I've been to that actually does most of the work! And she's super nice and doesn't lecture you about flossing because we all know we should floss more than we actually do. So far in the two visits I've had I haven't had to wait long to be seen and they are very quick to return phone calls. I highly recommend this place! Super Bowl party last night; ate a nut and cracked a tooth. Brutal pain. Called A+Dentistry this morning for my emergency. They made a place for me because of my pain. Dr. Samvel performed 2 hours of oral surgery. He was the MVP of my problem. His bed-side manner is so caring. Immediately addressed my discomfort and pain. Worked in a focused manner to help me extract my cracked tooth. This Dr. was a wonderful help and supportive care giver. I return in 6 days to get my stitches removed.
