Getting Invisalign has been the best thing I ever did! I was becoming more and more self conscious about my smile, but my dentist Dr. Gheddaf Dam made me aware that straightening my teeth is even more about health. I have had an extraordinarily positive experience with Prudential and Dr. Senatore. He is extremely quick and competent and explains everything in clear detail when I ask. I trust his opinions totally and relax when I'm in the chair. In fact, I elected to accelerate non-urgent work because I want to get all my long-term work done before moving away from Boston. Also, their prices are quite reasonable and I have had no issues with my insurance. So here's the question - why the dozens of negative reviews? Reading them was like a trip through the looking-glass; they were unrecognizable for the friendly, professional practice I've been going to. Here's why: the firm changed ownership sometime between 2016 and 2019 or so and it is done very differently now. The firm used to be owned by Dr. Adeli, and many of the worst reviews mention him by name. He evidently pushed unnecessary procedures, did poor work, etc. etc. However, he eventually sold the firm and left to start another company, and since then this place has really blossomed. I typically hate going to the dentist - and would never expect to write a yelp review on a dentist office, but this office and all of the staff were so fantastic! This was my first visit here - Full x-rays, cleaning, the whole ordeal - I was in and out so quickly. Both the hygienist, Lauren, and Dr. Aziz were wonderful - they both took the time to explain to me every thing they were doing, and what next steps would look like. I have never met a dentist quite like Dr. Gheddaf Dam. If you are looking for one of the most genuine and compassionate dentists you could ever meet, Prudential Dental is for you. I had a very extensive treatment plan inclusive of veneers, crowns and onlays. This process was very overwhelming for me, both Dr. G and her staff consistently went above and beyond any standard level of care to make me feel comfortable. This place is most definitely a scam. If you read the "reviews not recommended" you'll see the real ratings of this establishment. Came in for a cleaning and they said I had EIGHT cavities. I've never had ONE in my entire 26 years of life and I have had cleanings regularly every 6 months. The office then proceeded to call me EVERY WEEK to ask if I was coming in again. I have over 15 voicemails telling me I'm not "maximizing my dental coverage." I lat visited in September and they are still calling me every week and it's march. I finally had to beg the receptionist to stop calling me. 100% this place is trying to get insurance money from you. My teeth are also super sensitive now (6 months later) after I got 2 cavities filled. I wish I had never gone to this place, they RUINED my teeth. One positive is that I actually thought the receptionists were very nice and helpful. Other than that I would literally avoid this place at all costs. read more

It's interesting to read these other reviews AFTER visiting Prudential Dental for the first time yesterday. I recently moved to the area and selected Prudential Dental based on location and they fact that they accept my insurance. I scheduled my appointment for December in September, which was necessary with my previous dentist, but the receptionist was really surprised I would call so far in advance. Then, about a week before the appointment, they called me to say they had checked my insurance and I was shy of the six-month mark, so the visit would not be covered. They rescheduled me for later in the month when my insurance would pay for the visit. Great! But then it got weird--they called me the other day to reschedule again because the dentist's vacation conflicted with my appointment. Shouldn't that already be in the calendar? Anyway, they were able to squeeze me in, albeit at a less than optimal time. The office is very nice and clean. The receptionists were friendly and got me set up with my paperwork right away. Then I waited--maybe 20 minutes. That was annoying. My hygienist was Mai (spelling?). She was very professional and kind. Mai took several bite wing x-rays as well as a panoramic x-ray. I was impressed by how modern their equipment was--the x-rays were digital and did not use film. Mai also let me keep my piercings in for the panoramic x-ray after I explained what a pain it is to remove them. AND she looked up whether my insurance would cover the panoramic x-ray at my request. (It did, and I've already received my EOB confirming so.) Two weird things about the cleaning: Mai laid me basically flat on my back in the chair to work, and she gave me goggles to wear, I guess to protect me from flying oral debris. I don't know that I really needed the glasses. Mai was very competent about the cleaning and she did a thorough job. She told me to raise my hand if I needed a break and also checked frequently with me to see if I wanted to rest. I also liked that Mai was NOT chatty while cleaning my teeth, so there was no pressure to talk around a mouthful of instruments. Instruments which, incidentally, I saw Mai unseal from a lovely sterilization packet, so I could rest assured they were clean. After my cleaning was done, Dr. Adeli came to check my teeth. He spent maybe 3-4 minutes talking to me and approved Mai's work. Once he left, Mai scheduled a check-up for me in six months, and I was on my way. Overall this was a pretty positive experience. The scheduling was a bit of a pain, and I didn't like having to wait, but I thought the services were well-done and the staff were great. Everything was clean and modern. And the billing appears to have been correctly done. One weird thing: The number for Prudential Dental consistently comes up on my cell phone as "Anonymous," so I have never answered when they called me. I can't figure out why a business wouldn't want their number and name to show up on a caller ID. read more

Have been going here for over a year now, absolutely recommended. Dentists (Dr. Senatore) and assistants are highly knowledgeable, professional and have their patients' best interest at heart. Really good at explaining the procedures, potential next steps etc. They also make sure you are absolutely comfortable during the procedures. I have been very happy with the results. This dental practice is a class act. I guess it's beside the point, but the lobby is gorgeous, like a contemporary hotel and the location is super convenient for those who work in town like me. The reception staff is phenomenal- so friendly, professional, knowledgeable, etc. what a great first impression! (Thanks Courtney and crew!) They really made it easy for me to switch dentists, gathering all required information and x-rays from my last dentist out in Seattle. Firstly I should have know with a 75$ cancellation fee for appointments if canceled in less then 48hrs, this was shady. I was "told" I had 2 cracked molars and the only solution were crowns. Now I am not stupid, I never had one cavity in my life, go to the dentist every 6 months and have great teeth. I left a whirlwind of procedure explanations, cost breakdowns, and attempts to get me to sign a contract with them to do the work all for a 10% non-refundable "Chair fee" What is a chair fee? Being a person of research and instinct, I felt something was up. They didn't even mention having to submit the request to my dental insurance first for approval. I called my old dentist in Phoenix and asked for her opinion and shared the digital photos of these so-called cracks, she told me that no way do I need crowns and I should get a second opinion. She also was highly offending and angry a Dentist would recommend that type of procedure with my history of great dental hygiene. I decided to go for a second opinion, and it's simply 2 small cavities that needed filling. THAT IS ALL! 2 different dentists validated the faulty diagnosis. I've been going here for a few years, and after my last appointment, I've finally decided to go elsewhere. This is NOT the place to go for people who are fearful of dentists, or for people who are concerned about cost. I've been treated pretty smugly there in the past for asking how much certain work was going to cost. Also, I am afraid, very afraid, of needles. To the point of panic, tears, etc. I have had to get a lot of work done, and have found that nearly every single time, I've had to ask for topical numbing gel before the needle. First dentist I've ever been to where I've actually had to ask! I remember once being met with frustration for asking because of the time it would take to start working. Sorry you overbooked yourself, but you're sticking a needle in my mouth. This brings me to last week. After waiting 45 minutes, and nearly walking out, I was in for a quick filling, and it was pretty easy for me. I asked for topical, and got it. Numbed up quick. Bing bang boom, I was out of there. Walked out thinking how much better i'd gotten at appointments. So yesterday, I went back for one final filling, thinking i'd do just as well. He laid me back in the chair and actually said "not doing anything yet, just taking a look." Then after about 10 seconds of looking, he all of a sudden quickly comes at my mouth with the f-ing needle. No warning, nothing. I literally flung my arm up and almost jumped out of the chair and said "WHOA WHOA! aren't you going to use topical first?" He acted all taken aback and asks me if "I'm ok," while looking as his assistant like i'm some kind of lunatic. At that point my heart is racing, i'm near tears, shaking, breathing fast. Guess what happens when you panic right before novocaine? It doesn't work as well! It took THREE giant shots before i was "numb" and even after that I could still feel pretty much everything. Apparently that was my fault for panicking. Instead of letting me sit as long as it took to get numb, he seems to be in quite a rush. He said they could "put a temp in and I could come back when i'm more calm, maybe take a valium first." Come back? Yeah, I don't think so. I sucked it up, and let them finish. Before it was over, I was told they recommended some kind of ceramic filling that would cost $1000, or else my filing would only last 3-4 years. My answer was "oh, hell no." The whole experience set me way back as far as my fear goes. Before finishing this, I have to say, I will miss my hygienist. She was wonderful. Otherwise, I do NOT recommend this place. They might have top of the line equipment, but they are in it for the money more than anything else. Great dentistry. They show you your X-rays and explain what everything means thoroughly. They show what any previous fillings look like, and if you have any cavities/tooth decay they show you it and compare it to another tooth so you can see what it should look like. Everyone was very friendly, no complaints. I have really good dental insurance so I didn't have to pay anything for my checkup however they are a little pricey when it comes to fillings. Nothing outrageous but definitely on the higher end compared to what my family is used to. read more

Normally i just read reviews and do not write them. But i needed to this time. After reading previous reviews about horrible service and credit issues from this dentist group at this location but decent reviews at the other location i decided to give them a shot regardless with the knowledge that if they asked for credit info i would not give it to them. I went in for a cleaning. Well two visits and a 60ish dollar bill later still i have no cleaning. Mind you that i have great insurance and paid my co-pays upon leaving for each of the two times. Basically i had people look in my mouth two times and did nothing. Now the billing department(heather) decides to call me about scheduling another appointment. I proceed to tell this lady they did nothing in the first 2 appointments and that i got a bill for what? Nothing!!! My insurance covers cleanings and xrays. And they are free. No co-pay!!! So basically this company has got 30 dollars from me over 2 visits and done nothing. To top it off while talking with billing(heather) she decides to start copping an attitude, and laughing at me. When i asked to speak with a manager was told she was out of office. I know the dentist there are who pays the salaries but i couldnt talk to them.? 1st thing to note is that this Dental practice is under new ownership and, based on previous reviews, it appears that the change is absolutely night and day. Dr. Gheddaf Dam has treated me for multiple dental issues from cleanings to fillings to a referral for a root canal. Let me tell you, she is the most thorough, professional, caring, giving and skilled Dentist I have ever had. The entire staff is professional and knowledgeable - from the front desk to the dental assistants to the hygienists. You can feel a happy, positive vibe as soon as you get off the elevator. Also, it's not a bad view of Back Bay while you're getting work done. I would 100% refer anyone I know to this practice. DO NOT let the negative reviews from previous ownership deter you. I'll make this short but to the point. I went here about 6 months ago for a cleaning, exam, and xrays. I left there thinking I had TEN cavities, and a $800 bill to fill all of them, AFTER insurance. I paid a portion up front, and scheduled 2 appointments to get TEN cavities filled. I decided to get a second opinion, as my friend is in her last year at TUFTS dental school. Turns out I only have THREE cavities. She even got second and third opinions from her teaching doctors to confirm. The hygienists are professional and Lauren in particular is friendly and extremely good at explaining what she's doing and why. I like getting to know the specifics of the treatments I'm receiving. The dentists are likewise incredibly friendly and straightforward with their assessments of your dental hygiene. The office is centrally located in Back Bay - making it easy to get to your appointment - even if you fear going as much as I do. I do not usually write reviews but Prudential Dental was a great experience for my first appointment. I am an undergrad student. I saw Dr. Senatore and he was great. I had a regular cleaning for my first visit. The office staff was very nice. My wait time was negligible, and my hygienist was extremely caring and knowledgable. Unlike most offices, they showed me my X-rays on a TV in the treatment area and were extremely transparent about their care. Have been going here since I broke 2 teeth a couple years ago. They have state of the art equipment & were able to make ceramics to go in the teeth right away. Unfortunately, I was allergic (apparently I'm like some freakish 1%), but they worked with me to get everything taken care of...& they advised me of the 0% interest option to use Care Credit. Everything has been good since then -- mostly just cleanings & whatnot...but the service is still great! If you are looking for a nice, friendly, reliable dentist, look elsewhere. This place is terrible. The staff are rude and inconsiderate. The doctor is greedy. Definitely a terrible experience all around. I have been to this office 3 times. The first time I got a vibe that the staff really didn't care about me as their patient. I was talked at, instead of being talked to. After full x-rays and my cleaning, the doctor seemed almost disappointed that I didn't have a cavity, which would allow him to make more money off of. After realizing that he wasn't going to be able to milk anymore money out of me that day, he started ranting about teeth whitening (I don't have stained teeth) and sleeping guards (I don't grind my teeth) instead of congratulating me for my good hygiene. I brushed it off thinking that they just didnt know me yet and the feeling of being just a number would go away after another visit. The hygenist started my 2nd appointment 45 minutes late. When I was finally called back, I wasn't offered an apology or explanation for their tardiness. I was again made to feel terrible for my clean mouth and was given the sales pitches about other services that I didn't require. I walked out of this appointment feeling like I needed a shower. I felt like i had been dealing with a pushy sales person, not a caring member of the healthcare community. Since when do dental schools teach you how to make sales pitches???? Isn't the whole point of being a dentist to teach your patients how to care for their teeth so they don't get cavities??? Clearly this dentist has a passion for ripping people off, not for their dental health. Third "visit". I showed up for my scheduled appointment and was berrated by the front desk person for not responding to their phones calls confirming my appointment, which i NEVER got. When I pulled out my phone to show her that I had no missed calls from their office she looked at me in a skeptical way (as if I had deleted their phone calls in preparation for them deleting my appointment) and told me she didn't know what else she could do. WHO CANCELS APPOINTMENTS WITHOUT TELLING THEIR PATIENTS? They are so focused on filling appointment spots in order to make $$$ that they forget about how to care for their patients. If dealing with a "car salesman" type dentist and staff is your thing, this is the place for you. I typically don't write reviews but my experience here was so good this morning that I felt the need to. This was my first appointment so I had a cleaning and a new patient exam and everyone was so great. I had to wait maybe 5 mins for my appointment, the hygienist (Yanna? Yanina?) was amazing, explained everything about my mouth/teeth to me while she was doing the cleaning, and was extremely thorough which I appreciated. I didn't feel like she was rushing, she seemed to really care about not only cleaning my teeth but educating me about my own mouth. I then saw the Dentist (Dr. Gheddaf Dam? I'm terrible with names) who was also so amazing. She seemed to really care and was so nice and knowledgeable. I never realized how terrible by last dentist was until I went here and everyone was so much more knowledgeable and even the tools were more high tech (for example they had a mouth camera which takes photos of your teeth) which helped with the cleaning etc. and made the cleaning more interesting. Finally the front desk staff were also amazing. They checked my dental coverage before I even came in, and then when I was interested in invisalign they looked up my coverage right on the spot for me, explained payment plans etc. and were overall an amazing group of women. I was extremely impressed by the services at Prudential Dental. I was seen minutes after I arrived and was ushered into a beautiful open exam room. The entire exam area seemed completely new and very clean. My dental hygienist was careful to tell me exactly what she was doing before she started. She noticed that I was sensitive in a few areas so she would give me breaks from the cleaning. I was out in less than an hour with nice clean teeth. read more

An update to my original review. Summary, I am impressed with the follow up and improvement at Prudential Dental. The owner called me personally apologize for the wait time and offered me a complimentary cleaning to make up for it. I recently came back from another appointment and was in and out within 40 minutes. The timeliness had been the main issue last time and having it resolved helped to me have a much better experience. I would add that the hygienist I had was very thorough and probably one of the most thorough hygienist I've ever had! I think the receptionist could be a bit more knowledgeable about billing procedures as there was a few moments of confusion when I asked about how to get approval / expect bills for the procedure we had been discussing, but understand that she is still getting up to speed. read more

I followed Dr. Annie to Prudential Dental from another practice in January of 2019. I've had many implants, crowns and restorative work in the past two years and have been extremely pleased with Prudential. One of my implants required nasal passage surgery which I opted out of as both Dr. Ghaddef Dam (Dr. G) and Dr. Annie formulated a plan. I now have a 3-tooth removable "denture" which is so comfortable and is so realistic in appearance. Dr. G recently "repaired" my front tooth as it was chipped and discolored. I was happy with it when I left the office that day but noticed the color had changed and was slightly "off" the following day or two. Absolutely no problem: Dr. G redid the front tooth and now it's perfect! Overall, this practice is very well run. The front desk is very efficient with responding to emails and reminding of appointments. The dental assistants are cordial and knowledgeable. Lauren, the hygienist, is a peach and extremely thorough. Best of all, they accept CareCredit !!!! During the pandemic, Dr. G personally emailed me a video of all the precautions that were set up in the office because I was hesitant to keep my appointment. It worked! No stone unturned! I highly recommend Prudential Dental.........you will be as pleased as I am. read more

I am terrified of the dentists. And after not going for over 2 years I came to Prudential Dental with a groupon for a cleaning. I ended up needing cavities filled and a crown and scaling. The Dentist talked to me about all these things and why I needed these things and showed my the x rays and pictures of my teeh and explained the situation which I really appreciated. Everyone is very accomodating of my fear and nervousness and very understanding. I also really apprciate Kerri who works with me to figure out the financial aspect of everything and she is really understanding of everything. I'm a fan of visiting Prudential Dental. They're always super attentive to detail and proactive in making sure my teeth are getting the best possible care. I have been seeing my hygienist Lauren for quite some time now and she is the best out there! Does a great job with the cleaning (which I go in for quarterly) and provides good advice if there are some areas that I need to be working on. The location is great for me since I live and work downtown. They're flexible with scheduling which is another plus. I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews because prudential dental associates is awesome. I've been seeing Dr. Gheddaf since October and my experience has been extremely positive! I needed an implant done because of a hereditary complication and Dr. Gheddaf who specializes in cosmetic procedures did a fantastic job placing the implant. I also have come here for my cleaning and that experience was positive as well. My original appointment for a consultation was somehow not input into the calendar but Dr. Gheddaf still squeezed me in for that same time slot which I felt was very nice of her. I also think her dental assistant and receptionists are very nice and professional (I can sometimes be high maintenance in terms of getting shots and asking for detailed receipts and they never act impatient) read more

This review is primarily for Yanina who is one of the dental hygienists there. She is probably the only reason I keep on going there. She is warm, professional and honest. She does an incredibly thorough job. By her recommendation, I bought an electric toothbrush my teeth have never felt better. She was also following what others in the office thought were a cavity on my wisdom teeth and I was seriously concerned for a year and a half. Turns out, she gave it a good cleaning and it was just staining on the tooth. In the past, other dental offices have pressured me to take out all four of my wisdom teeth and or have my teeth "invisaligned" because of my slight overbite. I hate this about dental offices who pushes services you don't need and that may not lead to a better quality of life. If my wisdom teeth aren't bothering me, why take it out? Four less teeth to bite with when you get older! *excuse the rant* Yanania is very thorough, very knowledgeable and spends a good amount of time on your cleaning because she values a job well done. I rarely ever give reviews, but I had to comment on the wonderful experience I had at Prudential Dental. Dr. Hamasat Gheddaf Dam was super nice, gentle, attentive, and took care of my broken filling so quickly and painlessly. The office staff and dentist assistant were accommodating and wonderful as well; I really don't understand the negative reviews--my experience was exactly opposite of that. I called this morning for an emergency appointment, was fit into the schedule and seen right on time. I'm only visiting on business, but if I lived in Boston, she would definitely be my permanent dentist. I recommend them highly! read more

Best dentistry center in town. Quality of care is exceptional so is customer service. Strongly recommend them for all of your dental needs.

Dr. Adeli charges extremely high prices. They are not covered by most insurance companies. I would not say they do a good job. I have wasted over $1000 out of pocket when they told me certain services would be covered. read more

I highly suggest avoiding Prudential Dental. The front desk staff was impolite and difficult to deal with. The entire appointment took over twice as long as they'd told me it would because the staff was running late (I was there for 2.5 hours- they had told me it would be a 50 min appointment). The hygienist was nice but said they could not perform a standard cleaning (despite the fact that the appointment was booked as a cleaning) and tried to upsell an expensive "deep cleaning" that would require an additional appointment. The dentist told me that despite x-rays showing 0 cavities, I had 10 that required fillings (which would require 5 additional appointments). I left with no teeth cleaning performed, a set of xrays that showed no damage, but marching orders to come back for 6 appointments and spend hundreds of dollars. I went back to my former dentist, Suffolk Dental, for a second opinion. I'm glad I did- they found that I actually had 1 cavity. I left that efficient appointment in under an hour with cleaned teeth and a treatment plan that requires one additional appointment and hundreds of dollars saved. read more
