Putting our cat to sleep was one of the most difficult moments in our lives. When we found out our sweet baby wasn't going to make it we found John through yelp. His response time was really fast. He was very kind, patient and understanding. He asked all the right questions and explained the process to us once he arrived. It was so sad but also a huge relief to not have to further stress out our sweet baby and get to say goodbye to him in a peaceful and familiar place. I'll never forget John's kindness during the most devastating time in our life. We picked up our cat's ashes today. The urn and clay paw print are heartbreakingly beautiful. We'll be forever grateful for the work John does.

Tink, doing what she loved most. Riding in her carseat, going shopping!

While Dr. Grote didn't physically help my little girl, Tink, transition into her next form of existence. He coached me through the entire process of her passing at home. His reassurance, education, and support allowed us to be able to facilitate a loving environment for our little girl to pass in her home, where she felt safe and when it was her time. Not ours. I have never met a veterinarian more knowledgeable and genuinely compassionate than Dr. Grote. . Thank you so much again for all of your help and kindness.

Three weeks ago, I had to make a decision to let go of my beloved cat, Treble. He had PKD and the disease progressed fast. I wasn't prepared to have to make the decision as fast as I had to, but I am thankful to Dr. Grote for his help and guidance. I made an appointment for him to come to my home on a Friday. Treble had an emergency early Thursday morning and I had to make a decision to move the appointment up a day early. Dr. Grote was wonderfully empathetic and was able to come out in the afternoon, allowing me ample time to say my goodbye. When he arrived, he texted me to tell me he was early and could wait if I needed some more time. I did need a few more minutes with my beautiful boy. Once he came into my home, he explained the whole process to me and what to expect during each step and was so wonderfully kind and patient with me. He was gentle and respectful of Treble every step of the way, which meant the world to me. Treble was and will always be such a sweet, gentle spirit and as awful as it was to have to let him go, I am so thankful that he was able to pass in my arms, in the most loving way possible, and I had Dr. Grote by my side to help guide Treble out in a peaceful manner. I can't imagine how hard it is to continually be witness to people's pain in the midst of loss. I can't say enough how thankful I am for Dr. Grote's quiet but supportive presence during one of the most painful moments in my life.

Thank you Dr. Grote!! He was able to come on short notice and help our baby cross the rainbow bridge. He was very understanding especially during this very sad, scary and stressful time for my husband and I. God bless him he's truly an angel. He brought our precious Chauncey back to us one week later.

I am forever grateful to Dr Grote's most extensive compassion, kindness, and knowledge of comfort care when I consulted him for my 16 -1/2 yo sweet heart lab mix. As a Co -Founder of a an established Rescue , I thought I had a good knowledge base of senior dogs with chronic and/or terminal illness. He taught me so much more during our initial consultation which gave my girl six more weeks of quality and comfortable life. When it was time for Pria's transition, he was so incredibly sensitive, caring, and kind. With his guidance, Pria remained comfortable until she crossed her rainbow bridge. Thank you Dr Grote

Our senior cat Bigby was in fast-declining health (advanced stages of kidney failure), and Dr. Grote was responsive -- texted me within minutes of my voicemail being left -- and made himself available for multiple calls as we assessed what Bigby's options were. Dr. Grote was also empathetic and sensitive to our situation and provided a kind ear as we said goodbye to Bigby for the last time. Highly recommended.

What I…read moredidn't expect was learning that Rigly Blue had significant medical issues that weren't apparent when I adopted him. Those first couple of months were filled with multiple veterinary visits, questions, and a lot of worry. From the very first appointment, the entire team at Vet Villa made us feel like we mattered. They didn't treat Rigly as just another new patient coming in for a routine meet-and-greet. They took the time to understand his history as a stray, the challenges he was facing, and the care he truly needed. Over the past two and a half months, Rigly has spent a great deal of time in their care, and every visit has been met with genuine kindness, compassion, patience, and professionalism. It's clear that this isn't just a veterinary hospital--it's a team of people who truly love the animals they care for and are deeply invested in the well-being of pets in our community. I am incredibly grateful for everything they've done for Rigly Blue and for giving both of us the support we needed during a very unexpected start to our journey together. Thank you for treating him as if he were one of your own. ~N

Unfortunately, our experience left a very poor & unprofessional first impression. AFTER ALL WE ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE!! Upon arrival, we encountered a sign at the front desk that was extremely condescending and immediately gave the impression of a business more interested in enforcing rules than treating patients with respect. There is a 10-minute grace period that is not clearly communicated beforehand, and if you are even slightly late, the clinic threatens to cancel your appointment and charge a late fee. We were only about five minutes late due to a long line and parking delays, yet we were told our appointment was canceled and a late fee would be applied. The staff at the front desk were dismissive and RUDE AF!!!! , particularly one woman who seemed to enjoy asserting power over patients. She even hung up abruptly on a caller saying, "I'll call you back, I'm busy." When we requested to speak to the manager, the response was only slightly better, still condescending, and we were reprimanded for explaining the situation. It felt very much like being treated as children rather than valued clients. For a clinic that presumably cares for animals, this lack of empathy, patience, and basic courtesy was courtesy was shocking. If you're treating your HIGH PAYING CLIENTS THIS BAD!? HOW ARE YOU TREATING OUR BELOVED ANIMALS? YIKES. The behavior at the front desk, combined with the aggressive sign, makes it very difficult to feel comfortable or welcome. We hope the owners and doctor are made aware of this, as staff attitude can seriously affect a clinic's reputation and patient loyalty. We are reconsidering whether to continue using this clinic and strongly encourage owners particularly more than poor management to retrain front desk staff on professionalism and compassion. Patients who spend significant amounts on pet care deserve to be treated with respect and understanding (especially during their first visit) Once this behavior is put on social platforms such as Yelp, Google. Even tik tok you will suffer greatly by allowing your front desk to abuse your clientele? What an absolute embarrassment. Take your disgusting signs down before you go viral.

I paid at the end, the receptionist called the team to confirm nothing else was needed on my end, then I left. The next day, I was notified that they forgot to charge me an additional fee from USDA, and was told that had I responded to Rosey's messages prior to our appointment "I would have known that". I triple checked our text chain, phone log, emails, and even PetDesk - none of which have anything from Rosey before our appointment on 3/3. Naturally, I questioned the additional charge (there was already a USDA fee that I paid for on the original invoice) and mentioned that I had no correspondence from Rosey leading up to the appointment. I received such a condescending and accusatory email back from her and was essentially told she would not help me in the future. I'm still waiting to connect with management and share screenshots showing that Rosey never reached out to me before our appointment. I completely understand that mistakes happen and I would have been fine to pay the additional fee. However, I don't stand for gaslighting and false accusations.

She had also experienced 2 strokes and had a lopsided face, issues with stairs and trouble blinking. We did physical therapy and she was able to use stairs again, and while she still had some stroke issues she always so happy to be alive - so I thought I would know when she was ready. One evening, she started throwing up, and spent the night outside - which she had never done, hiding under a bush in a hole. No more wagging, no more joy. I knew she was ready. She was the most joyful loving dog and I wanted her to pass calmly with her pack in our yard. I called him and gave him her history and once I mentioned she had taken tramadol, he said just take her off tramadol and she'll be fine - then started ranting about tramadol. I was thinking he didn't hear the whole history and tried to repeat it but that one word seemed to be some sort of trigger. I told him she hadn't taken that in a while and after just about pleading for his help he said, well I'm busy and I can't come anyway, but good luck to you. During an already miserable time he made it so much worse and filled me with such self doubt. She was a large dog but I managed to get her out of the hole, and carry her to my car and then into Highland Park Animal Hospital. The HP vets were kind as always. They went over her history and reassured me I wasn't "rushing into things" as Grote suggested and that changing up her meds would not make her all better. I would have rather she passed at home in the back yard peacefully and also so my other dogs could have understood what happened to her - they waited for her to come home for a long time. Honestly, it's been a year and I'm still very upset.

My leopard gecko had developed a small wound in her mouth that most likely had come from her injuring herself with her feeding tongs a couple nights before. I called 15 other locations before I landed here. Most other places either did not have openings anytime soon or no longer took in reptiles. So I was incredibly happy to hear that this location could see us asap & welcomed exotic pets. Dr. Maryam Alemzadeh was incredibly helpful & informative. It was very clear to me early on that she was familiar with reptile care. She was able to handle my gecko with care & removed what appeared to be an abscess in my geckos mouth. As a result, there was a very tiny hole left behind in my geckos mouth. Dr. Maryam said she was not worried about it as she believed my gecko could recover on her own in a week. She eased my concerns about my gecko needing antibiotics as she felt she didn't want to overwhelm my small reptile with medication & my gecko appeared generally healthy otherwise. However, she did say if the lump came back and/or my gecko was not getting better, to give her a call & she would put in the order for medication. Conclusion: -Staff: Friendly, super quick, & asked so many questions to get an idea of my reptiles enclosure, diet, & behavior to relay to the vet. -Veterinarian: Amazing! I could tell she knew her reptile stuff & eased my concerns. Even went the extra step to point out an issue with my geckos eye & gave me recommendations for veterinary ophthalmologists in the area. -Cost: $150 for the office visit, reasonable as I was quoted a higher price somewhere else. -Overall Impression: My leopard gecko appears to have fully recovered on her own! I would definitely recommend this place for urgent care to anyone who has small pets, especially reptiles!

I was agonized and told her that I was supposed to be with the dog during this process. At this point, I had been weeping for two hours and just wanted to hold my foster. Another 45 minutes went by, and I was told to meet them outside the back of the building. While I was sitting there, I could hear employees in the back room laughing and making fun of clients. Rats were running back and forth across the fence. It was dark when the process finally happened, and I was able to go home. It was absolutely the worst experience at a veterinary hospital in my years of fostering. I wrote a letter detailing the ordeal to the vet manager. An apology was issued to the rescue, but never to me. Having to euthanize a pet is a devastating experience. They made it ten times worse than it had to be. My heart goes out to anyone who has been treated like this by this hospital
