Right when you walk in....a very condescending greeting to my $1000 VET BILL.

Extremely unwelcoming & unprofessional lacks good leadership. We are part of the Pasadena community and were hoping to establish care for our dog at this clinic. Unfortunately, our experience left a very poor & unprofessional first impression. AFTER ALL WE ARE PAYING FOR A SERVICE!! Upon arrival, we encountered a sign at the front desk that was extremely condescending and immediately gave the impression of a business more interested in enforcing rules than treating patients with respect. There is a 10-minute grace period that is not clearly communicated beforehand, and if you are even slightly late, the clinic threatens to cancel your appointment and charge a late fee. We were only about five minutes late due to a long line and parking delays, yet we were told our appointment was canceled and a late fee would be applied. The staff at the front desk were dismissive and RUDE AF!!!! , particularly one woman who seemed to enjoy asserting power over patients. She even hung up abruptly on a caller saying, "I'll call you back, I'm busy." When we requested to speak to the manager, the response was only slightly better, still condescending, and we were reprimanded for explaining the situation. It felt very much like being treated as children rather than valued clients. For a clinic that presumably cares for animals, this lack of empathy, patience, and basic courtesy was courtesy was shocking. If you're treating your HIGH PAYING CLIENTS THIS BAD!? HOW ARE YOU TREATING OUR BELOVED ANIMALS? YIKES. The behavior at the front desk, combined with the aggressive sign, makes it very difficult to feel comfortable or welcome. We hope the owners and doctor are made aware of this, as staff attitude can seriously affect a clinic's reputation and patient loyalty. We are reconsidering whether to continue using this clinic and strongly encourage owners particularly more than poor management to retrain front desk staff on professionalism and compassion. Patients who spend significant amounts on pet care deserve to be treated with respect and understanding (especially during their first visit) Once this behavior is put on social platforms such as Yelp, Google. Even tik tok you will suffer greatly by allowing your front desk to abuse your clientele? What an absolute embarrassment. Take your disgusting signs down before you go viral.

Friday I had to take Frankie in to the vet to have 4 bottom teeth removed. They also cleaned her teeth after the extractions. The procedure was preformed at Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital. They did a great job and I liked that they did a check up call the next day. Frankie is doing great and she no longer has bad breath.

Request for appointment. Earliest one was ONE month from request.

This veterinary hospital used to be good. I've been coming here since I adopted my dog back in 2016. Lately I have not been having a good experience and the last interaction really showed me they don't care about patient retention. I made an appointment on 2/2/2024 for a yearly physical and vaccination updates. The first available was in ONE MONTH on 3/1/2024. Which I accepted as it was non urgent even though it will take so long to make an appointment of this type. 2 days before the appointment I get an email to confirm the visit and I clicked Yes, I am still coming. On the day of the said appointment, the technician said that there was nothing in the system and that it was strange. She went inside the rooms and came back out about 10 minutes later saying nothing was in the system. I showed her the confirmation emails (see attached) and they asked me to forward these emails to the office so they can look into it. After 37 minutes of back and forth, the clinic agreed to receive my dog the next morning for a DROP OFF at 8am and then they will call me to pick him up. I said, 8am? I thought it was very early but still agreed as I've been waiting a month for this. They said yes, 8am. Frustrated that I requested the original day off work for nothing, I returned the next day, Saturday for drop off. The next day 3/2/24, I came to drop off my dog at exactly 8am for his physical and nobody opened the door. I called (no answer, just voicemail) and emailed them and even saw technicians go inside through the side door, but nobody came to talk to me. I left after 15 minutes of no response. It was in the afternoon that they finally returned my call to tell me they take drop offs at 8:30am instead but the technician had said 8am. This is when I realized that leadership has weakened and that the clinic was no longer the same. The lack of technician training and incorrect information provided to the client or patient is worrisome. I asked this technician who called me after 5 hours that I wanted all of my dog's profile/medical history emailed to me and she said okay. This was on 3/2/24. I didn't get the emails with his medical history until 3/15/24. Two weeks later. I also never got a response from the clinic for forwarding the confirmation emails for the appointments as they requested because they were gonna "look into why the appointment wasn't in their system". They didn't care after the fact and that spoke volumes to me. I also noticed that there was a couple with an older dark gray dog who was walking around sluggishly because the dog approached my dog for a sniff. I heard the technician telling the couple that nobody can see the dog and that they can come back when he is more sluggish and the couple said MORE THAN THAT? And they were rejected even though it sounded like they were recently there and had immediate concerns. It broke my heart to hear that and was confirmation that this clinic was no longer the right fit for my dog and me. I hope they're ok. Today is officially 30 days since the said appointment and I never got word from the clinic leadership. Ps. For those who need vaccines, I recommend the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society which is available weekly.

2nd opinion. Even this place told me the pricing was insane. Up to $2000 for a routine spay

Update on 12/16/2024 I'm going to update this so people won't go here. My dog has lost his hearing btw thank you Pasadena pets. The last picture is after his surgery AT ANOTHER VET NOT HERE. Now, I don't understand why anyone would want to go to this absolutely dog water experience of a vet. It's more akin to going to a shady mechanic. Will they overcharge? Yep. Will they tell you they're better than other doctors? Yep. Will you see a doctor? Not without a consultation fee. Otherwise, you get to see a tech. Got a quick question? Doctor doesn't have the time for that. They do have time for consultations though, for a few. They say they treat our pets like family here and boy do they mean it, by holding them hostage. Routine check up? They'll take your baby to the back and do it. Shots? To the back. Check up is done and you want your baby back while you wait? Sorry not before you pay because they're family and family makes great hostages. Can you imagine going to the doctor's and they didn't give your child back until you have paid? Well you can have that experience here at Pasadena pets where your pets are family! Don't worry, your pets will be in a cage until they remember they haven't gotten your money yet at which point they'll call you...eventually. They say the "doctor" is still doing final checks but don't ask for what or to talk to them, cause that's a consultation not a question and they ain't got time for that. Remember here at Pasadena pets, pets are family, your family. In the back, they're hostages. I go to a different vet now and the craziest thing. They let me...wait to pay with my pet. Crazy I know that they don't treat me like a criminal and my pet as a hostage. I won't say where I go now because I'm not trying to advertise for another vet. I'm just saying don't go here.

Bella happy with her visit but would rather be at a dog park.

Brought my dog Bella here for some treatments. I was pleased with the whole experience from the friendly receptions to Dr.Lucko and Karina who worked on my Bella. I highly recommend this animal hospital that can make you feel at home.

After losing my Rocky due to the lack of care from VCA on Foothill, we swore to do a better job and find the right vet for our dogs. Well, we found Dr. Stan. Dr. Stan and his staff are amazing. Our Lola had so many health issues and Dr. Stan did everything he could to help her and us. He was very patient with our numerous emails, calls and sometimes I would barge in without an appointment and he was so nice and compassionate. Yesterday we had to say goodbye and I'm crying as I'm writing this but Dr. Stan was so sweet, he asked us all individually if we were on board with this decision and gave us all the time we needed, explained the process and let us be with her as long as we needed and promised to take good care of her even after they took her away. We never felt that he was extending her life to make a buck...we trusted him and when we felt there were no other options, he said it was time. He could have dragged it out and we would have continued to pay but he didn't do that at all. Thank you Dr. Stan...as painful as it has been, your calm and respectful demeanor helped us though this.

Sesame about to meet Dr Stan.

Some of the vets are good, others not so much. We finally decided to switch to a new practice after experiencing enough errors and lapses in care to realize our dogs are not safe receiving care at Vet Villa. I strongly recommend avoiding Vet Villa. 1) Vet Villa prescribed Carprofen flavored tablets to our dog for a painful condition. We were not instructed to keep the bottle far out of reach. The dog found the pill bottle, chewed through the plastic, ate all the pills and suffered an accidental overdose. This led to 2 emergency vet visits, gastrointestinal toxicity that kept us up all night for 5 nights, and large out of pocket costs. But we are glad our dog is still alive. The emergency vet told us they always counsel pet parents to keep this medication bottle far away from the pet, and that they have seen multiple similar overdoses. Vet Villa did not acknowledge my feedback to change their counseling practices to prevent this from happening to others in the future. 2) A skin biopsy was performed in a completely inappropriate fashion by a veterinarian who acted as if she had never evaluated a skin lesion before. I can speak to this because I am a practicing dermatologist. The vet's approach as she examined reminded me of a first year medical student evaluating a condition for the first time. I did not contradict the vet's recommendation and gave it a chance. After all, I am a human doctor, what do I know about veterinary care. As expected, the results returned inconclusive due to the incorrect sampling method. The out of pocket cost was significant. 3) Bloodwork was lost and had to be re-drawn -- no explanation for why it was lost. 4) The practice's own pharmacy does not share prescription records with the office. I was asked in a very accusatory way to provide proof of a prescription that had been continuously refilled by Vet Villa using their own pharmacy for several years.

Our beloved dog died and they were so sympathetic. They sent us a condolence card right after drop off. The price was reasonable, the turn around time prompt and the pickup material was so touching. Everything from canvas bag to the remains, the card, the paw print - it was perfect. They gave us plenty of time to say goodbye at drop off. They even brought her back to us on a blanket. On pickup we arrive right as they were closing but they waiting a few minutes after so as to not have to wait another day. We plan to bring our other three doggies for checkups as our experience was so positive. The whole atmosphere inside is lovely, from their x-mas countdown, the drawings on the bulletin board, the exam rooms are some of the nicest I've seen. We haven't been paid for the praise nor are we related to the business in anyway.

They are not my personal vet, and will never be. They serviced dogs that I fostered through a reputable agency. The animal that I brought in was a hospice foster that was in my home for over a year, and I was told I could hold her while she was euthanized. The rescue had called ahead with the details and I gave them the dog, but they then ignored me for two hours. The receptionist was extremely rude and condescending and would not let me talk to anyone about the situation. I begged for two hours to talk to the vet, and she kept treating me like I was wasting her time. In the meantime, my foster was in a crate in the back of the building. I finally got to talk to a vet on the phone after the two-hour wait, and she told me "Ok, we'll put her to sleep"!! I was agonized and told her that I was supposed to be with the dog during this process. At this point, I had been weeping for two hours and just wanted to hold my foster. Another 45 minutes went by, and I was told to meet them outside the back of the building. While I was sitting there, I could hear employees in the back room laughing and making fun of clients. Rats were running back and forth across the fence. It was dark when the process finally happened, and I was able to go home. It was absolutely the worst experience at a veterinary hospital in my years of fostering. I wrote a letter detailing the ordeal to the vet manager. An apology was issued to the rescue, but never to me. Having to euthanize a pet is a devastating experience. They made it ten times worse than it had to be. My heart goes out to anyone who has been treated like this by this hospital

First of all, he's an amazing person, and he loves animals. I can see that very clearly. He did an amazing job, and now my dog is healthy. Also, I can tell it was a good experience because they offered me excellent service when I compared it with other places. That was the best one. For me, that was an important thing, and that's why I'm writing this review. You can trust him and VCA - Pasadena. Also, I need to tell front desk. Workers are very friendly too whoever I saw in there so far they were super nice thank you for all of them.

Today AFTER DRIVING ALL THE WAY FROM SANTA CLARITA I came in for them to tell me they don't accept the coupon for exotics and I'll have to pay $172 for the exam fee?? I told them the time I called and date and that I was specifically told this and 1) wouldn't have made my rabbit sit through this car ride while sick and 2) wouldn't have driven all this way myself for NO REASON they then argued with me that their prices are comparable to other places, he now has an appointment with another vet for a $70 exam fee so... waste of my time, horrible communication, they should've called me to confirm and tell me this beforehand or never lied in the first place.
