The morning of 03/31/26 I was desperately looking for a veterinarian that was familiar with reptiles. My leopard gecko had developed a small wound in her mouth that most likely had come from her injuring herself with her feeding tongs a couple nights before. I called 15 other locations before I landed here. Most other places either did not have openings anytime soon or no longer took in reptiles. So I was incredibly happy to hear that this location could see us asap & welcomed exotic pets. Dr. Maryam Alemzadeh was incredibly helpful & informative. It was very clear to me early on that she was familiar with reptile care. She was able to handle my gecko with care & removed what appeared to be an abscess in my geckos mouth. As a result, there was a very tiny hole left behind in my geckos mouth. Dr. Maryam said she was not worried about it as she believed my gecko could recover on her own in a week. She eased my concerns about my gecko needing antibiotics as she felt she didn't want to overwhelm my small reptile with medication & my gecko appeared generally healthy otherwise. However, she did say if the lump came back and/or my gecko was not getting better, to give her a call & she would put in the order for medication. Conclusion: -Staff: Friendly, super quick, & asked so many questions to get an idea of my reptiles enclosure, diet, & behavior to relay to the vet. -Veterinarian: Amazing! I could tell she knew her reptile stuff & eased my concerns. Even went the extra step to point out an issue with my geckos eye & gave me recommendations for veterinary ophthalmologists in the area. -Cost: $150 for the office visit, reasonable as I was quoted a higher price somewhere else. -Overall Impression: My leopard gecko appears to have fully recovered on her own! I would definitely recommend this place for urgent care to anyone who has small pets, especially reptiles! read more

OMG Dr. Maryam is an amazing human being. I have never met a vet with her compassion, empathy and kindness. I will never forget her. This is the only urgent care my dogs will ever see. She is an amazing doctor and combine that with the a wonderful human being, she is a winner! Kenji unfortunately had kidney failure so he left us 2 weeks ago and it is still difficult, but when Dr. Maryam hugged be during my crying as he was leaving, that showed me who she is as a person. Wow! Her staff was all so nice and helpful. A couple of days ago we received a sympathy card and every employee wrote us a note in the card. I have been recommending this hospital to everyone I know! Brought my fur baby here because she had something growing on her lip. I was panicking because I could only go after work which would be around 5:45pm. This place was the only place that helped me with a walk-in that late. The space is very clean and modern. The front desk is helpful and nice. The vet we were assigned to was knowledgeable and even gave us a treat while there. The fee is mid range. I believe we paid $180 just to be seen. Highly recommend! read more

I am very glad to have found this Veterinary Urgent Care very near my house! My regular Vet is incredible, but a bit far away and very very busy. We had a rough situation and scare recently and the service and care our dog received was top notch! The staff is excellent and have a wonderful bedside manner and their prices are very reasonable for this type of service. Cheaper than Access or VCA. Especially their medication prices are very reasonable. They stayed under their quote while doing a very thorough treatment. The facilities are brand new and very nice and spotless. DON'T COME HERE At each visit, I was told that the wound was improving like 20% improvement and I was advised to continue with regular bandage changes. However, in reality, the wound was not healing. Despite multiple visits, no additional diagnostics or reassessment were done, and there were no signs of actual improvement. I was eventually referred to a veterinary dermatologist to check for potential bacterial or skin issues. Due to continued lack of improvement, I brought my cat to a different veterinary hospital, where the attending veterinarian dead tissue on his paw. Surgical intervention was recommended and performed. The second veterinarian stated that this level of deterioration could likely have been prevented if the wound had been properly managed earlier. I followed all your recommendations because I put 100% trust in your professional judgment. I returned for every bandage change, administered all prescribed medications, and asked questions at each visit. However, despite my full compliance, the situation only got worse. This experience has been emotionally and financially distressing, and I feel that my trust was misplaced. While I cannot say with absolute certainty that the treatment provided at your clinic directly caused the necrosis, I believe it is a reasonable and serious possibility that inadequate wound care -- especially the bandaging technique and lack of reassessment -- contributed to the worsening of my cat's condition. read more

We recently took a sick cat to Pasadena Veterinary Urgent Care (PVUC) for the first time. That morning, the cat had suddenly vomited several times and strained to soil the floor, leaving behind a small amount of blood. The staff and Dr. Maryam Alemzedeh were easy to work with. They provided options for diagnositics and treatment and gave us a followup call the next day. Staff forwarded records to us and to the cat's regular vet, and the cat is fine now. For many years prior, Dr. Alemzedeh had worked with another vet practice where she also provided great care. We did not know she had moved to PVUC until we looked up urgent care vets to see where we could get in. In addition to our own pets, we have also cared for foster animals for about 12 years, so we see more vets and have more urgent cases than when we simply had a few personal pets. Over time, some ER vets (that seemed to be insufficiently experienced) have ran up high bills with poor outcomes. Took my pet here for a walk-in since he wasn't doing well and many vets were unavailable on the weekend. Flat exam fee is $130, which is understandable given the nature of extended hours. Receptionist was pretty friendly, and doctor seemed knowledgeable. It did seem as though the doctor was a bit cold, and would have appreciated a more sympathetic conversation. Costs presented were also incredibly high, and we opted for further diagnoses and treatment from our regular vet in the following week. Price difference was around $1500. Would recommend if truly in an urgent emergency, otherwise, I'd only visit my regular vet. read more
