A. Mendoza Roofing is our roofer of choice. We've used them for both our A-frame roof and the flat roof portion of our commercial project. We have worked on multiple occasions with Armando Martinez, who we've found to be honest and responsive. He's an excellent communicator. A Mendoza Roofing has our highest recommendation. read more

Does terrible work, and then refuses to follow through with warranty coverage. Horrible service. Use anyone else. Serious attitude problem too. Gets quite pedantic. read more

My roof was installed 12 years ago by Mendoza Roofing and still looks great! I had to replace my pool solar system on the roof and Adrian Mendoza made sure he was available for any repairs that may be needed. He came right over when the Solar company had removed everything to look things over. I am thankful to have such a reliable roofing company available to me. read more

My mother's house needed a new roof for the in law. Adrian came out and gave us a estimate and told us the process. We were told it was a 2 day job but his amazing team was able to get it done in 1 day. Quick, professional and super friendly. Highly recommend A. From my initial request for a quote, until the last day of work, Armando and his team were the ultimate professionals. Timely, efficient, and conscientious. Armando definitely knows his stuff and was quick to share his knowledge in a low pressure, honest way. We chose a 50 year roof and kinda weird to say about a roof, but it's beautiful. Everything he said he would do he did. What he said verbally was also contained in the contract. Armando was hands on with his team overseeing the daily work. He was a terrific communicator; letting us know of each day's arrival time and tasks to be completed that day. His team worked together seamlessly, with no lag time, and always in good spirits. All wonderful indicators of working for a terrific company (and boss). Each day they left our job site free of debris and at job completion they power washed our driveway. From beginning to end Armando and his team treated our property as if it was their own. If you are in need of a roof I highly recommend A. Mendoza Roofing; you won't be disappointed! Truly! read more

Mendoza roofing on a grade scale gets an an A+ Armondo was very detailed and informative from the start and genuinely cared about the work they would be doing. They went above and beyond what was needed and they helped us get through some substantial renovation work with a general contractor that was working on our house. They were very responsive with our needs and operated with honesty and Integrity all the way through. Way to go Armondo and Mendoza Roofing you guys are the best!... Dan and Angie read more

A. Mendoza Roofing just finished re-roofing my house and it was a good experience. They were easy to communicate with and the onsite staff were pleasant, considerate, and always left the area around the house tidy. My roof is pretty complicated, having sloped parts, flat parts, and vertical parts but they were able to do all the needed work. I got four quotes and Mendoza's was the most affordable of the three quotes that seemed to understand the work involved. read more

I had hired Adrian Mendoza before, to redo a friend's roof and to do several repairs on my house, so I felt confident in hiring him out of loyalty (instead of my contractor's regular sub) to do a brand-new roof with several skylights. It was supposed to take about a week. Apparently he had too many other jobs going, since he showed up erratically, would leave a couple of workers but not supervise them, they would leave debris all over the roof, not complete some parts and did a terrible job on the all-important flashing and linear vents on the dormers of our bedroom. My contractor had to OK their work for me to pay, and he took photos and made lists, After each of the 2 or 3 incidents like this, I would write Adrian an email listing each problem to fix and attach photos; apparently he did not read any of the emails, did not reply or communicate directly, was out of town a lot but would come over without notice and do a little work, then announce everything was done and leave. Then the contractor would inspect, find lots of problems and the cycle would repeat; this went on for at least 3 weeks, until the first rain threatened recently and the painters were being held up by the roof not being completed. I sent another email documenting the problems, and mentioning a complaint to the state license board unless there was prompt response. This got Adrian's son involved, who replaced some of the gutters installed incorrectly, but he couldn't finish everything. Adrian finally came and did the worst gutter repair I've ever seen. I finally paid him what he had coming and got someone else to repair the gutters, but was very disappointed in this entire episode and it ruined our relationship. I would not recommend hiring A.Mendoza again, because the customer is at the mercy of how skilled and reliable a roofer is, and this contractor has really changed, not for the better. read more

Hard working crew. Very detailed. Reasonably priced. Installed new roof and added Twirlley bird fans and eyebrow vents to reduce trapped heat in attic. Worked with solar contractor to put footings underneath shingles. Onofre was excellent from start to finish. He made sure shingles matched original, used highest quality felt and fans. He came on a rainy Saturday to finish the job and cleaned up the lot. Highly recommend! read more

I contracted to have some of my own tarps put on my leaking roof until I could afford to re-roof. They only had time to put up one tarp since they had other customers that needed emergency service that moderately rainy day. It was good enough to cover the part of my roof that leaked so far. This was in October of 2016. I allowed them to take care of their other customers with the understanding that they would come back another day to finish covering the rest of the roof. The tarp came loose a few weeks later (during a very windy day) and they came back to re-attach it. They brought more sticks to hold down the tarp (and future tarps) and left their safety rope attached to the roof-ridge. I gave the owner a nice used extra ladder of mine for his effort to come back to re-attach since I had not given him any money yet because the job was not finished. I made many calls over the past 2 years to get them back to finish but they decided to finally tell me they weren't going to. Odd behavior but I made out OK in terms of not losing any money on the deal. I was hoping that they would come back to finish and they abandoned the job so I need to find someone else. read more

absolutely fantastic company to work with - I have three projects done by Mendoza. All great craftsmanship and high attention to details.

Mendoza Roofing just did a great looking job on my house. Armando was able to schedule me in quite quickly and they got the job done on time and on budget. Armando was very nice and accommodating. There was one new piece of flashing that rested on the side of the house and he asked me whether I wanted it be the color of the roof or the house and I choose the house. When I gave him my old house paint it was dried up so he went and the paint store and bought a new can of paint for me at no charge. I thought one of the new vent pipes looked a little crooked and he sent one of his men over the next day to straighten it out, secure it in place and repainted to my satisfaction. FYI Some of the old reviews mentioned how Mendoza roofing was a no show for an appointment. Armando explained to me that was when his uncle ran the business. I found Armando to be on top of everything and am sure if he says he will be there, he will read more

A couple of winters ago, I had some pretty bad leaks in my roof and hired Adrian to patch it as a quick fix until I could get the roof done the next spring. He does the patching and also replaces a couple of skylights, now I have more leaks than I started out with. I called to let him know about the leaks and when I removed the ceiling in some parts of my house, I could literally see daylight coming through where they allegedly patched the roof. He came over a few times and threw a tarp up here and there which never actually addressed the issue. He put a bunch of goop around one of the skylights he installed, but it still leaked. When it came time for a new roof, He wanted half the money up front. I asked him about a permit and he said that wasn't necessary and I said it was absolutely necessary. After that he didn't return my calls and became even more flaky, so I went out and found someone else. read more

With the rain season coming, everyone is in a hurry to get their roof and gutters serviced. So if you have a bit of a long wait, don't be discouraged. I actually called Manada roofing first and all they cared about were quoting me a price to replace my entire roof. Even with that, they were a week late and never respond to my request of just fixing it. A. Mendoza roofing is a great team. Showed up and quickly checked out the problem. (I had a few Asphalt shingles lifting up) Adrian quickly helped me screwed it back down and caulk it. Adrian's price was very reasonable. Very courteous and only recommend services that he thinks I needed, nothing more. Good, honest guy. I'll definitely call him up when we need the roof replaced. read more

Yelp Recommendation for Adrian Mendoza Roofing 510-415-6390 "Adrian Mendoza Roofing recently installed a "cool roof" on my home, using GAF reflective shingles. The roofing team arrived on time each day, worked diligently, and completed the job on schedule. Mendoza Roofing is the best! Andrian, the owner, went out of his way to provide great customer service. He is professional, honest, and caring and will not oversell one with services one does not need. He will do what ever it takes to get the job done right. He recently cleaned the gutters and downspouts and installed gutter-guards at my church. I am very pleased with his work! Andrian's crew did an amazing job and his pricing was great! I highly recommend him! read more

After getting bids from three roofers I chose A. Mendoza based on my initial conversation with owner Adrian Mendoza, his willingness to agree to a number of special requests including prevention of debris from raining down on the interior of my 2-car garage and all of the junk stored there, retaining my perfectly fine gutters and gutter screens, and advice about downspouts, and the very professional way he measured the roof. After that I spoke a couple of times with Adrian's son-in-law Armando Martinez who confirmed Adrian's agreement to my special requests, gave me a reasonable estimate, adjusted his original work dates so as to avoid overlapping with my grandchildren's visit, and supervised the actual job which was done as agreed and on time despite coinciding with the worst heat wave in my 50-year residency in Hayward! Finally, all of the verbal agreements I discussed with Adrian and Armando were remembered and honored. read more

Great service, great prices. I work with a local non-profit fixing up homes in Oakland for low income seniors and the disabled. I have used Adrian Mendoza probably 20+ times in the past year. Spoke to them over the phone and confirmed a time for an inspection. Sent my realtor to the home and these guys never showed up. I called them several times, no word via call or text. They could have atleast let me know that they couldn't make it. I'm scrambling now to find someone else in time. I feel bad leaving a 1 star review, happy to amend if there was a legitimate issue, but no show and no call isn't a great way to deal with a customer. read more

Adrian and his crew were great - professional, fast, and super easy to work with. Adrian came when scheduled. gave me my roofing options, ascertained that I could successfully go with the less expensive one, then got the job done over 2 days. He repainted my flashing the color I provided (which required some extra work) and was responsive and helpful throughout. It hasn't rained since he redid my flat roof 2 weeks ago but I'll update this review when it does ;-). I highly recommend him and his company. read more

Talk to the owner on the phone. Set up a date and time to check my roof. Never showed up. I txt and called left voice mail. Never got response from him. Don't know how he be getting 5 Star. Maybe he don't know how to do roofs or have correct tools. Or he could be looking for each patch jobs. Thats what you dont see any pics of his work. At least he could have called and rescheduled. It's like no call no show for work. There's no ownership from this person. Wish there was a negative star. I would have gave him -5star. read more

As a retired senior I appreciate getting a great job at a good price. I had experience working with general contractors and subs during my working career and we had a general lead the job for us. Mendoza roofing did a fine job for us. The new roof and gutters added a new look to our home at a price much lower than the highest bid we received. They also did nice detail work fabricating custom down spouts, installing vents and installing gutter guards. I would use them again and would recommend them to others. read more

We used Adrian to replace our 30 year old, 4 layer deep roof. Mendoza Roofing is a good value option if you just need a new bog standard composite shingle roof. Cost was very affordable compared to the other estimates we received (ranging from $2000 - $4000 less). Probably most ideal for people on a tight budget and just need a no-frills roof replacement. Adrian and his crew are fast and hard-working, our whole roof plus a cottage in the back were done in 3 days. Adrian the owner is very friendly and easy to work with. Maybe some of the wood repairs could have been done a little cleaner, but for the price I can't complain too much. Afterwards we noticed a mistake in the placement of one of the down spouts, but Adrian happily came back fixed it for us. When the job was finished, Adrian took us up to the roof to inspect his work, which was appreciated. Our house looks about a million times better now. read more

I'm retired living on a fixed income, so I sweat bullets when I have to find a contractor. I do my research, check reviews, but i find the best way to find a good contractor is to watch my neighborhood for the same work I want done. That's how I found A. Mendoza roofing. They were doing my neighbors roof and it looked great. My neighbor was happy and recommended them. I asked for a business card and called a few months later when I was ready for an estimate. they were there the next day to measure the roof and my estimate was there the day after that.I decided to wait until spring, then covid 19 hit and I put it off for a few more months through fall but needed to get it done before winter.finally called Adrian for the job, he remembered me, came back and gave me a lower estimate as a break because of covid 19. We agreed on price, got the written contract, and started about to weeks later.I live in a modest three bedroom home in San Lorenzo ,I know what it cost to put a roof on.I have had several estimates over four years from $7000 to $29000 for the same roof.I do not want "roofing systems" with diamond plated vents and solid gold tar paper. I do not want a salesman's bullshit! What I do want is a great looking roof, that does not leak, for a fair price. That's exactly what I got from A. Mendoza roofing. The whole crew was on time, professional, courteous and friendly. They addressed my few concerns an left the property clean without ever entering the house. It's now winter, had a couple of rain storms and no problems. I highly recommend these guys if you want to simplify the process. Great job guys. Thanks! read more

I can't say enough good things about Adrian, his crew, the work ethic, the quality craftmanship. I know that there are a lot of options for roofing contractors, but when you have a leak, need a repair, or want a new roof..you can't wait around for the other jokers to call you back. Adrian will do it right the first time and he always does a fabulous job. I'm in the real estate industry and always have clients needing a roof. I refer them to Adrian as the best roofing contractor in the East Bay. I get tired of dealing with unresponsive contractors. Thanks for being a great example of a contractor that is dependable. 5 stars for the whole crew! read more

A skylight we added to our master bathroom started leaking. The company that did the installation when we replaced the roof maybe a dozen years ago wasn't interested. Another roofer said the installation was wrong and the skylight and the surrounding asphalt shingles would need to be replaced for $2,750. Adrian Mendoza looked over the problem, agreed that the installation was wrong and said that it would be $320 to fix it. In a couple of hours he and his helper pulled everything off, put it all back together and packed up the debris. Before he left, Mr. Mendoza said, "If you ever have any more problems with that, just call me." April's Pineapple Express poured inches of water on Oakland but not a drop of it made it into our house, thanks to Adrian Mendoza Roofing. read more

I am thrilled with the roof I got from A. Mendoza Roofing! His estimate was half that of Home Depot and yet he had excellent reviews. He showed up when he said he would. His staff was very helpful.
