It is hard to miss and is not visible to the street view. As you walk in the place is very cute and very clean. The ladies that work there are very friendly and very informative/helpful regarding any questions you may have. Our instructor was very nice. I totally forgot her name. She was awesome, she's very interactive in the class. She does walk around the room periodically to make sure you are in the right position which is quite helpful because I can tell you I had no clue as to what I as doing. The whole class was awesome, we all definitely felt the burn. By the way, it was the Barre Classic class which is recommended for beginners. It's a mixture of yoga, stretching and ballet moves, which by the way, were awesome practises that you can do at home. Who knew about these ballet moves?? When the class was over she interacted with us for a bit which was nice. They have a lot of specials/deals right now that are awesome. The one class by itself was $20. It was totally worth it. I can't tell you it was worth it because I could hardly get out of my bed this morning. I will definitely be back with my friends!!

Barre Life had a great introductory special: unlimited classes for two weeks for only $40. Yay! So the studio is very nice and clean on the inside. The outside is not much to look at, though there is plenty of parking. The lobby is spacious, they have retail, and the front of the house staff are friendly. There is also a large women's locker room--always a plus. I took 3 classes at Barre Life: Sculpt and two level 1 classes. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety that the studio offers--I think it's great that there are different classes depending on what you're looking for (beginner, advanced, more ballet-oriented, etc). I enjoyed Sculpt the most, as it was somewhat similar to what I'm used to at Pure Barre. I like a more fast-paced and intense class as well as using different props, such as weights, balls, and resistance bands. I also enjoyed the music, which was upbeat and current. What prevents me from giving a higher rating is related to the instruction. During one class, I was actually discouraged when I challenged myself to hold a pose--I was told by an instructor to stop when she saw that my thigh muscles were shaking. Also, I never saw any of the instructors go around the room and adjust people's forms, and I could see that several people needed adjustments, including myself. I found this to be problematic because if you don't have the correct form, you could easily injure yourself--especially your back. Maybe other instructors are more conscientious about that, though. All in all, there were more positives than negatives, but the instructor contributes heavily to the experience in my opinion. I would still try Barre Life when I visit Oakville again, since it is still a great workout.

Came for a reformers pilates and was hooked!…read more I was greeted by Christina, one of the owners of the studio and she gave me a quick tour of the place, letting me know of all the other workout classes they also offer. The upstairs is where the reformer pilates takes place and is the newer part of the studio. The studio is clean and super welcoming. They have spin, barre classes, mat pilates and reformer pilates. I made my way upstairs where the room was beautifully lit from all the big windows. The workout itself was a 5/5, as it worked me hard! Loved Christina's energy in motivating the class and fixing people's forms if they were off. The music choice was also very good and upbeat. Reformers pilates level 2 is definitely a tough one that will get your body shaking in ways you didn't know it could. I left the class feeling super energized and happy. The playlist was amazing but the music was too loud. It's hard to hear the instructor when there's loud music playing. Haley checked in on me and other students regularly to make sure we were all doing ok. She encouraged us to do the best we can. For a cold Friday evening, the class was full which is amazing. The studio is clean and has plenty of room to lock up your stuff. They have those code based lockers. They have two restrooms and a shower. They provide with hair ties, spray deos and dry shampoo to refresh after the workout. There's also a water filling station to refill your bottles which is a nice sustainable touch.

As a student, I am able to fit any type of class into my schedule…read morewhether it be the early morning classes at 6:30 am or an evening Sunday class with my amazing instructors. The studio is the one place that reminds me to leave all my stresses at the door & focus on JUST myself for the complete hour. I've always been too intimidated to start yoga because I felt it would be too hard for me to follow any instructor but this studio offers more than just one type of class especially for beginner yogis. With positive words, the instructors never made me feel out of place in any class. I started with SSU60, slowly moved up to Modo60 and did my first Slow flow 60 class today which I loved! In just a month, I found myself focusing on muscles that weren't even touched at my regular gym while building upper body and core strength. Also, the studio has a mini store inside with yoga attire & clean washrooms with showers & lockers to store our belongings. It's a very warm environment & I'm always greeted with a smile. The instructors let yogis come 15 minutes before all classes to lay/stretch in the room. Lastly, this studio has an app which I've downloaded to my phone & I'm able to book the classes in advance depending on my schedule for the week. I definitely want to thank my instructors for helping me plant the seed of yoga into my life, it is one thing now that I will always love!

It's located on the second floor of the building and once you up the stairs you turn left for the reformer pilates, I believe there's other rooms for other classes on the right. I was greeted by the reception and had to sign a waiver form. You also have to wear pilates socks at this location during your exercises but if you don't have any, they have some for purchase at their studio. Once you walk into the room/ class you're expected to leave all your belongings like purses, wallets and phones at their cubbies since it's a no phone zone when the class is in session. Since I picked an introductory class, the instructor talked us through how to use the reformers and what to expect. During the class, I thought it'd be more useful if the instructor actually showed us how to do certain moves herself so we had a visual, rather than just talking us through the steps. As beginners, it would've been a lot more helpful. Knowing that this was a introductory class, I didn't expect to be sweating and be super sore the next day - which I wasn't. But I definitely felt some muscles being activated that I don't usually target. Overall, it was a great experience and I went back a couple more times after that. Take the introductory class as it really helped with understanding how to use the reformer and how the movements should feel.

I have been working out with Scott for the past year and have been loving it! I can't say I was one…read morethat stuck to any particular workout routine for very long but have found that I am able to at OBFT. I have really enjoyed the combination of strength training and boxing within one session - keeping it fun while also being a great workout. Scott is great at motivating you to push harder without being too intimidating! I have noticed great improvements in my strength and endurance. Scott pays particular attention to form during the workout which I appreciate as I know so many that have injured themselves through inappropriate training. I can't speak highly enough of Scott and OBFT and would highly recommend them!

I recently tried their 30mins class and I found it great especially after getting back into working out. Would definitely recommend for people to try it out.
