I took it to a chain auto repair shop and they literally told me that they don't know what's wrong with it and that I should take it to a dealer. After hearing that I looked around for some Mitsubishi service shops or engine specialists, and after calling around a few places to no avail, the guys over at K & M assured me they could figure it out. Sure enough, I brought it over the next day and they figured it out and fixed it in under 3 hours. The difference with these guys is that they don't rely on computer codes and internet research to get the job done. They have the experience and expertise that actually translates into delivering superior service and educating the customers, just as I was. Needless to say, they've made a customer out of me for as long as I'm in Atlanta.

I had been bringing my vehicle to this shop for years under the previous ownership and always had…read morepositive experiences. Unfortunately, my most recent repair under the current management was extremely disappointing and involved what I can only describe as sloppy and substandard workmanship. I brought my 2000 Ford F-150 in for a clutch replacement and related repairs. The vehicle remained at the shop for over two months while they attempted to diagnose and resolve a check engine light issue after the clutch work was completed. During that time I came to pick up the vehicle multiple times, only to find additional problems each time. On one pickup attempt, coolant hoses that had been disconnected during the repair were not even reattached. Coolant immediately began leaking when the engine was started. On another pickup, the system was still leaking coolant. After weeks of back-and-forth and no resolution, I was ultimately advised by the owner to take the truck to another repair facility because they could not determine the cause of the problem. When a second mechanic inspected the vehicle, they quickly discovered the actual issue: the wiring harness had been pinched between the engine and transmission when the transmission was reinstalled during the clutch repair. This caused blown fuses and numerous engine fault codes. In order to correct the problem, the transmission had to be removed again so the damaged wiring harness could be repaired and the installation corrected. The second mechanic also documented that the transmission contained only about one quart of fluid at the time of inspection and that coolant lines had loose clamps causing a leak. These issues strongly suggest that the vehicle was not properly inspected or tested after the repair was completed. Because of the pinched wiring harness, the transmission had to be removed again and the wiring repaired. This required additional time, expense, and inconvenience after already paying thousands of dollars for the original repair. Even after the corrective work, there are still unresolved issues such as the speedometer no longer functioning, which will require additional diagnosis. Based on my experience, the workmanship on this repair was extremely poor and required another shop to undo and correct the installation. I strongly recommend that anyone considering major repairs here obtain a second opinion before authorizing work.

If you're visiting for the first time, just know that while it's an emissions station in the front, the car wash services are located around back. That's where you'll find the pricing and service options. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish. I opted for the full interior and exterior detail, which included vacuuming and all the finishing touches. It came to $55, and honestly, my car was long overdue for some TLC, so it was money well spent. The process was simple and efficient. I left my keys in the car, handed over my ticket, paid inside, and waited for everything to be finished. The gentleman working the register was very welcoming and invited me to relax inside while they worked on my car, which I really appreciated. When they were finished, my car looked fantastic. They paid attention to the little details and cleaned areas that are usually difficult to get spotless on your own. While $55 may seem a little expensive at first glance, the quality of the work absolutely justified the price. I'm so happy I discovered this place. I wish I didn't have say that my experience was less than satisfactory. I took my 06 M3 in for a 60K scheduled valve adjustment and Vanos rebuild which was $2200.00. That also included a differential fluid service. Got the car back 3 weeks later to have a burning plastic smell and smoke coming from under the hood! I returned the car to Munich Motorsport. Differential still making the noise, fluid was again checked\added to. I was presented a huge piece of plastic related to the valve cover and told it was the reason the car was smoking and smelled of burnt plastic. The car never exuded these symptoms previously. Initially they were going to charge me for the additional part and fluids, but Jim was present and rescinded the charges after I presented my argument. After getting the car back a second time, I noticed the smell of burnt plastic persisted! Additionally, on a particularly hot day with the air conditioner on, the car stalled. Three times in traffic!. I called and spoke to Jocelyn who was receptive and asked me to bring the car in AGAIN so they could look at it. After considering the results of the previous visits I have decided not to return for a third visit. Update 8-19-21 I now have a spot in my garage where fluid is leaking from my car, I think it is oil! Its only a few drops but it concerns me. Im going to have another shop take a look at it. I speculate that is where the burning smell is coming from. Update: 9-11-21 I got my M3 back today from another shop who performed the repairs for about $559.75. Turns out the valve cover gasket(s) were not seated properly and were leaking oil on the exhaust, causing the burning smell. This is a well documented issue in that a torque procedure needs to be followed to seat properly. First a hand tight, wait an hour then torque from the center working your way out. Apparently this was not done resulting in the oil leak and consequentially the smoke and burning. smell. I have submitted my invoice to Jim at Munich Motorsports for reimbursement and will remove this post if he is amicable. Update: 9-18-21 My certified letter requesting reimbursement goes unanswered a week later. I can only assume at this point that Jim has no intention of reimbursing me for his failure to resolve the issues Munich Motorsports introduced to my car. I am disappointed and surprised that an organization that has been in business so long would treat their customers with such disregard. I assure you the media campaign I am about to start will cost them a lot more than $560.00. Update: 9-27-21 I just received notification from the BBB that MM responded and refuses to reimburse me for my loss. They stated they have a warranty on all repairs, and I did not provide them a third opportunity to resolve the problem. I will tell everyone I know about my experience.
