Do NOT use A Hoffman Awning's services. we purchased a flat pan awning over our deck from them. The final product was overpriced, much smaller than agreed upon, missing key components, not installed safely, and the installation crew called us liars when we reported the unfinished work. We spent months contacting them to fix the issues, even filed with the Better Business Bureau, but they continued to give us the runaround. Nothing was ever fixed, and eventually we had another contractor take it because it was starting to collapse from the weather and became a safety hazard. Very unprofessional and unreliable company. You can get far better work done for their prices by an actual licensed contractor. read more

My new awning cover does not hang longer than I expected, which has really impacted the amount of shade it provides. I thought it would hang down longer like my previous one, allowing for more coverage over my front porch area. Instead, it's leaving parts of the seating exposed to the sun. I really hoped this awning cover would add a nice touch to my outdoor space and provide the shade I need during the hot months. Instead, I find myself feeling disappointed every time I look at it. I did reach out to customer service to discuss my concerns and see if there's a way to resolve these issues. That call was NOT productive and the gentleman was a bit rude and lacked empathy. Not sure if I can reach out to the manufacturer for a replacement, or is find a way to modify the installation to improve the situation? Either way, I'm determined to find a solution that will make my outdoor space more enjoyable. read more

I've had them come out at least 6 times every year since then to fix it. still a problem. they never call when they say they will and I'm still having issues 3 years later. never again read more

We ordered this unusually small awning because we were tired of replacing roll up shades. The sales rep was helpful and entertaining. Delivery time was about 5 weeks, not objectionable for a custom build. The awning frame is beautifully built. Very nice welding work. We bought an awning from Huffmans 7 years ago, and every year since, it's needed service. Calling Huffmans service a joke is too mild. They have contempt for their customers, their help desk must enjoy punishing their customers. We have called half a dozen times just this year, to get service for our awning... every time is an adventure. The best joke is where they say they've submitted a ticket for service.. days go by, you call back, and then the next guy on the service desk acts appalled. Of course it's a big joke no one ever comes. This has gone on for several months. We've even talked directly to their service folks and worked out a time and date, and they never shore up. Bottom line stay away from Huffmans! They're a disgrace! read more

Fantastic to work with all around. From my first call to set up an appointment I could tell we would enjoy this process. The salesman arrived the day I called to make an appointment, gave me multiple options and we opted to take advantage of 6 month 0%APR financing. A few days later another employee showed up and took additional measurements while the awning was still in place. We decided to take down and haul away the old aluminum awning and even make a little money by recycling it. Today, a crew of five guys arrived right on time and exactly 55 minutes later, voila! New bright white awning installed! These guys are very good and professional. When I call someone answers my calls immediately. When they say they'll call me back, they do. The other reviewer from Fairfax, VA must have the wrong company with his horrible review, according to their website, they don't service Fairfax. They had a young guy who setup our awning and he did a LOUSY job. The sides were lopsided and asked for our old awning while still charging us 4500$. So when i called Rodney's phone number, they never answer. The worst part is when I came home early for the time they were scheduled to come which was @ 2:30, but when i got home they were already there and i found the young guy who did a lousy job snooping around behind my garage when i pulled into my driveway !!! read more

Just had my stylish, Heron blue metal awning, complete with scalloped frame and stripes installed by The Hoffman Awning Company. The addition is absolutely perfect! Creates a "pop" finished look to our side patio door at our very old grey lady home built in 1900. No more getting rained on when we enter the house and such a very cozy calming sound in the kitchen when the rain taps on the awning. I had some problems with gutters overhanging a cellar stairway that couldn't handle big storms and tried multiple solutions, but still worried about water in the basement every time it looked like a thunderstorm. Recently, I had a major problem with our retractable awning Installed a long time ago on our roof by, A. Hoffman Awning. After calling the company, Joe, a representative of the company said he would send someone to take care of it. The next day two workers came over, Chris and Daniel. They immediately began to fix the retractable awning. They were very careful taking the retractable awning down from my roof, repairing the problem and installing it back the same day. I was very satisfied with the professionalism they showed in their work and how they carefully put it back looking like new! We had a metal awning on the door of the basement apartment in our house. It was was rusty and paint cracked, and many years old. We desired a fabric awning, to cover the doorway AND a brick retaining wall that is at the doorway. A. Hoffman is the ONLY awning company that I called that would come to our home to give us an estimate and show choices. On the phone, other awning companies gave us the hard-sell for other types of awning, not listening to our requirements, and were not willing to come to our house for measurements or to show us fabric samples. As a previous reviewer mentioned, I too had some issues that were resolved by Donna and Jim Healy. No business is ever going to be perfect, but it's how it's resolved which is what separates the good from the bad. Donna and Jim went out of their way to make sure my mother-in-law was satisfied. It was a smaller job, but they treat them all the same. Product is being manufactured in house and the quality is excellent! The installers are efficient and polite while on the job. After a rocky start, I can honestly say I wouldn't recommend anyone else for awning needs. They really step up to the plate and stand behind their product. Ordered replacement Sunbrella awning for storm damaged one of theirs. Received in timely manner but it leaked through fabric..company sent out respresentative who said wait a month for fabric to settle?? Waited 6 weeks and it still leaked. Called again and was told someone would get back to me...so 4 weeks later and a hurricane and a flood and am still waiting and needless to say everything got soaked under 14' awning in recent rains. Update: heard from owner personally who apologized for lapse, sent over manager who said they will make it right. Are picking up 14' awning next week, recoating it, and returning it to make sure it doesn't leak at no charge. Are also adding a flap over door at no charge. So if this all happens, I'm converted. read more
