We had some light repair work that needed to be done on some exterior plumbing and Jerry gave us an estimate and an array of times he could do the work. Do not make the same mistake I did. Stay FAR away from Jerry and his "company". I hired Jerry to install sprinklers and sod in my backyard in April of 2023. The first red flag was how long it took to get the relevant documents needed to submit to my HOA. All that was needed was for him to take a picture of the documents and email them to me. He claimed that the email wasn't working, and that he would hand deliver them to my place. Fine, whatever. It took over 2 weeks of me asking him for the documents, and him promising over and over again to deliver them "tomorrow" before we FINALLY got the documents. This pattern in Jerry's behavior did not improve over the next 6 months (yes you read that correctly, 6 months for sprinklers and sod). There were literally dozens of occasions where he promised that he was going to show up on such and such a day, and then he would fail to show up, without so much as a courtesy text, letting me know ahead of time. I moved work plans around so I could be home when he worked in case anything came up. And there was ALWAYS some kind of an excuse, whether it was medical issues, issues with his kids, other projects, etc. This caused progress to be excruciatingly slow. So slow, in fact, that we still didn't have sod by early October. And at that point the type of sod we wanted wasn't even being sold anymore, since it was too far into the fall. So I was forced to seed my lawn, which still looks patchy. I get that people have issues, and sometimes life gets in the way of your plans, but when it happens dozens of times, delays a project (that should have taken a week or two) by months, and you were never once were considerate enough to give me a heads up when you had to cancel, I have no sympathy. Another major red flag was when he was having trouble with getting his tiller started. He was months behind schedule at this point and we were also practically in the fall season, so I was desperate to get him over to get some work done. It was so hard to even get him out here, that when he couldn't start his tiller, and said he would come back another day, I offered to pay to rent a tiller from home Depot, as long as he was able to put down the deposit (I didn't want to lose a deposit if he damaged the equipment). He agreed to this. We drove to Home Depot to rent a tiller, and when it came time to pay the security deposit, Jerry's card declined. The interesting part is that there was absolutely no surprise on his face, which implied to me that he knew his card was going to decline and never bothered to say anything. He didn't ask them to try scanning again, or try a different card. He just looked at me and shrugged. The final nail in the coffin (which, in hindsight the final nail should have been his inability to commit to any of his promises, but I kept wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt, since work WAS getting done, albeit at a snail's pace) was Jerry deciding he can adjust the prices however much he desired, for whatever reason he decided was appropriate, without even mentioning it to me. In Jerry's original estimate, among other services, he quoted us 3 sprinkler zones at 650/zone, for a total of 1950 for the sprinklers. During the course of the work, it was apparent he was only going to install 2 zones, instead of the agreed upon 3. When I mentioned this to him and asked for the quote to be updated to show 2 zones instead of three, he told me "No the quote is correct as is", and that his prices went up due to "inflation" as well as that I should blame the president for the inflation. Now, Jerry argues that his prices were always estimates, and were subject to change. However, none of the documentation he sent mentions anything about prices being subject to change. In addition, the first quote he sent us did say "estimate" at the top. After we made the down payment, the word "estimate" disappeared, with the quote staying exactly the same. Which means that once the down payment was made, it was no longer an estimate. After doing the math, and subtracting out all work related to sod and the third sprinkler zone, I realized that I had overpaid Jerry by about $560. Jerry claims that I UNDERpaid him by $420. I listed out every item that he provided service for, along with the corresponding cost, and explained to him that these are the services he provided, that I already had overpaid him, and that I was not going to pay anymore. His response was to add additional costs to the bill, and remove a 3% discount, in an attempt to spite me, bringing up the total he claimed I owed him to $740. Now to me, there seemed to be no question that Jerry had no ground to stand on to force me to pay the "remaining cost", but just to be sure, I reached out to a few lawyers who all said basically the same thing, that he can't just change agreed upon prices, and that I shouldn't pay him another cent. The guy that came out to my house was professional and nice. Don't give me wrong, but to only be there an hour and splice the coolant hose, not replacing it and replacing the coolant reservoir. However, I did ask him to check on the check engine light and he said he could not find nothing. That is the main reason why I wanted him to come over so I can get my tags in a mess is done now I am left to spend another $500 and to tell me you did your job I would not recommend or use you guys again $320 really that is why I am giving you guys a bad review and would not recommend you guys. read more

Jerry does nice work for an affordable price. He finished two sets of stairs for us and patched a hole in drywall ceiling (and made a custom access panel). We will continue to work with him on other handyman projects at our house. read more

All of the work that Jerry has done for us has been impeccable & he is very thorough. The work he has completed for us is: he installed new trim around our door frames & windows, repaired our fence, trimmed our trees, installed new front porch column boxes & repaired our doorbell system.
