Love this place! I normally get the beef pho, excellent!! Spring rolls are very tasty as well.

Fantastic place for pho. You know it's good when the majority of people eating there are Vietnamese!

The best Pho we have eaten!!! Hands down. A Dong fell short of the 5th star because the waiters had no personality. They barely even smiled. And I'm usually not a stickler for this but the ladies trash can was full and we arrived 20 minutes after they opened. read more

Best egg drop soup I've ever had!!! We had Chinese food and it was the best we've had in the area, and we've had a lot. The sauce wasn't super sweet but flavorful. Worth a stop for sure. read more

Best Pho and Bun (vermicelli rice noodles with charbroiled steak, pork, or chicken...in a bowl of fresh deliciousness) in TOWN. I PROMISE, you won't find a better, more authentic place around. Super fresh and very generous. LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE!! read more

I love Pho!! This is the first time I have ever been to a restaurant with food as close as home made. Delicious!!

.The food was ok, ordered appetizers but before we could even take a bite our entrees were already out. Finished our dinner yet our server did not bother to come back to check on us to see if we needed to go boxes. Had to send my 7 year old niece up to the counter to ask for boxes, which there were 3 servers and none of them bothered to check on us. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this location no matter how hungry or desperate I am for pho. We gave it a second try even though we knew service wasn't great and sure enough it hasn't changed. read more

My favorite food is Chinese and Thai. I've driven by this place millions of times and never tried it. It's probably because going to Bangkok Cuisine up the street is my go to spot. I'm so accustomed to their service I didn't want to try anything else. Well, while shopping, i figured I would try something out the box and try A Dong. After eating here, I've now called it A DooDoo. The waiters were dry. They had Viennese guest in there looking at us and staring HARD (probably because we were the only blacks in their establishment) so we ignored them. We noticed the menu had everything so we were excited about that. However, once our food came out (I got my normal Sesame Chicken) the food looked like food from the HEB frozen section. The chicken looked like chicken strips with sesame sauce on it. When you love Chinese, you just know how it's supposed to look and taste. Then, since we were sitting towards the front by the kitchen door, we kept smelling an odor like someone boo boo'd in their pants. Then we realized, it smelled like it was coming from the kitchen. I didn't want to wait until my food came alive hoping i wasn't eating an animal, i couldn't take the smell anymore, we paid for our food and left. The way the wind hit my face, i felt free. I will never go into that Doo Doo Brown establishment again. Just stanky in there!!! read more

Went there today w my husband for lunch. No where on the menu does it say that they use MSG in their food. Got home and about an hour later, my head is killing me, my hands and feet are swollen (so bad I had to take off my rings and watch), and my stomach is a mess!!!!! If your ok with MSG go for it, it taste great---but if your like me and desire to eat chemical free food----stay away!!! Just FYI I did call before I wrote this review and the lady admitted that YES they use MSG----they need to disclose this to their customers. read more

The restaurant is clean. The staff was helpful especially if you have never had Vietnamese food. We had the combination fried rice. My husband and kids liked it. I had a bowl of hot and sour soup. If youre not too hungry I recommend a cup of soup. A bowl of soup will feed 4 people easy. The beef and broccoli was flavorful. We want to go.back and try the clear soup with.glass noodles and beef. All of the Vietnamese customers ordered so it's a must try. read more

Unfortunate name, great food. unfortunately, i moved away from that side of town so i dont get to eat here as often as i used to. this place is amazing for vietnamese food, it's probably the most authentic place in town. with that being said, i've tried some of their chinese food and i'd say avoid that because their specialty is definitely vietnamese and they know what they're doing, so don't waste a trip on food you can get anywhere else. my favorite is the #55 (bo luc lac), if you're a carnivore, you're going to love it. read more

we haven't found really good pho in SA, but ADong is definitely acceptable. I do find their soup to be on the sweeter side, and the broth not as flavorful as the good pho I have had elsewhere. I do rate them a solid 4, however, because their other offerings are also pretty tasty, and the service is good. I enjoy the shrimp with walnuts, too. read more

Not a fan. The beef tasted weird, though the chicken was good, The service was crappy our waiter decided to sit down and have lunch. Probably wont be returning read more

I had the beef and broccoli and the tempura appetizer. Both were delicious. I also had the wonton soup but will try the eggdrop next time.

Best Asian food & pho everrrr!!!! This is one of my first reviews and I just had to say how much I absolutely love it here. The place is spacious enough, friendly and the food (especially the pho) is delicious! We always get #111 or #112 pho and I must also say the beef noodle plate #108 and fresh spring rolls are superb. I haven't been able to break myself away from those too much because they're so good! Also, I don't know why but their water is the bomb too. I drink a couple glasses every time. Check it out if you're in the area. You won't regret it! read more

Today was the second time I've eaten at this restaurant. I'm still not sure on the staff. They are not the most fun/happy/customer friendly wait staff. Not bad but just not good either but the vegetable Pho absolutely makes up for the lack of customer service. Also I wish they would clean their front door. It's gross. But then again I love the Pho. So since it's the best pho in my area I'll have to forgo the staff and lack of a clean front doors. read more

I have been twice now. The first time was pretty good. The second time not so much. My advice would be to order the most true Vietnamese dish on the menu. For instance, the first time I go Pho, which was really good. The second time I got shrimp and cashew. The mushrooms were canned--yuck. The customer service was OK--nothing to write home about. read more

Everything was over cooked to include veggies. Chicken was dry/like jerky. Rice was gummy and egg roll burnt. Reasonable portions, hot but no returnee. read more

Good food, good customer services. I love their pho. Very good. My regular place from now

Ordered the Beef with Broccoli, fried rice, egg roll, and hot and sour soup. Soup was the only thing that was semi good. A Dont should be the name of this restaurant. read more

Been going there for the past year or so...to begin with, A Dong has been our only and first experience eating Vietnamese food. Bottom Line: Pho is AMAZING! It keeps us going back every Friday as a family tradition. Our kids order the Pho Ga (Chicken) ..#122 and the Pho with sliced raw beef. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. Huge thumbs Up! read more

By far one of my worst experiences. The service was poor and after waiting 30+ minutes we were informed there is a long wait for food due to there only being one cook. 1 hour later i decided to walk out. I will find another place after this experience. read more

It's... ok. Spring rolls weren't super fresh and the rice was dry. We ordered the Ginger Beef and the Sesame Beef. Pretty good, but it'll be a while before I visit again. The servers were very friendly and the place seemed clean, so that's a plus! read more

I love to take my family here. The staff is very outgoing and friendly and the food is great. I get the Pho and the family gets noodle dishes. The menu is very extensive and there's a combination for just about everything. Afterwards, there's an Orangeleaf next door, so I get a full night out for one stop. read more

Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but this was just so disappointing! The food was flavorless and luke warm at best. In fact, we didn't even bring home the left overs. If you're looking for Asian food at the forum, go with Thai Spice. They NEVER disappoint! read more

Good pho, rich tasty broth. It's a restaurant not a specialty pho place so the variety of meats and additions was limited. I would still go back because it was good and the service was good. read more

Everything we have ever had from here has been amazing. We order to go at least one a week at work and are always very satisfied. I would recommend it to anyone! read more

What a great little find. It's easy to pass this place by as it is I nestled in busy shopping centers, other restaurants, and a winding parking lot. Very authentic and fresh food. We ordered the sukiyaki which is a traditional Japanese dish served nabemono style. Service is a little slow but overall the culinary experience will have us going back for more. read more

Great food just wish they would clean their front door of all the gross fingerprints.

If I can give this restaurant 0 star I will,horrible food,service terrible,the owner very r

I love number 89 pho....ask for it "Byron Style" with a cut up eggroll on top. Reasonably priced, never too crowded as well.

I don't think I've ever had pho that I didn't like and this was no exception. Service was good. I was disappointed that they do not have tripe, tendon or flank. I'll elect to go somewhere that offers the non-gringo meats meats next time read more

A Dong is one of the great Vietnamese restaurants in San Antonio local. Here are the things I like and dislike: Positive: delicious foods, great of services, and clean. Negative: I don't like the owner's social skill. One time, I was really happpy and aprreciated his service, I offered him a handshake, but he didn't know how to make a handshake that hurt my feeling. Since then I've still come his restaurant for my family's dinner or luch but never give him a handshake again. read more

Pho (rare beef & meatballs) and and order of spring rolls....doesn't get any better. This place is awesome! Friendly staff, order was out really fast. Place was super clean. I can't think of anything "bad" to say about this place. Of course eating there at least twice a week beats going to HEB and wandering aimlessly through the isles. read more

We love A Dong! Besides the Pho, our favorite dishes are their OUT OF THIS WORLD Chicken Wings! Their greens are also excellent! Their Vietnamese Iced Coffees are great...but, the Chicken Wings, sticky and delicious! read more

We ordered quite a lot with several hungry guys in the group. The rice noodle soups are good as usual, so are the spring rolls. The only problem is the waiter didn't give us the fresh bean sprout and basal leaves until the soup has already been served for a few minutes, which made the soup a bit less tasty than it could be. read more

Amazing assortment of food. Had sweet and sour chicken, bbq pork fried rice, and chicken lo mein. All equally as delicious. A must try.

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch (3:00 during the week). We've never eaten here before. The restaurant was clean, very few patrons at that time of day. The menu is quite expansive, we both ordered #109, it was a vermicelli dish with shredded vegetables, pork, chicken, and shrimp. We also ordered an appetizer of spring rolls. The spring rolls were delicious, even though I didn't expect what tasted like mint in them. Our order arrived, hot, and there was so much food we could barely eat half, and took the rest home. It was quite delicious! read more

Good local spot, I have recieved good service here many times. communication rough but I confirm service is good.

This place had a few good dishes, but why is that all Asian foods taste like they have mounds of sugar added to it and then drenched in oil?
