Will NEVER bring my dogs here again!! I've brought them twice now, both times I was told one price over the phone and charged $30-60 more than that. Both times least one dog had poor service- first because he was supposed to have a sanitary trim and never got one, and second he was given a bath and came home with poop all over him and after getting home noticed dried blood on the other dogs face and was never informed of any incident happening. Called to sort this out and the manager was less then helpful and had an attitude and refunded a whopping $7 for all of these issues and it's not practical to have to go back a second day to have a service done correctly every. Noah always loves his stays at A Dog's Dream when we go off on vacation! We just got back from a week long vacation to the beach and I'm so grateful of the care that Noah received while we where gone. Noah has always suffered from separation anxiety when we leave him anywhere (even with my mom which he knows really well). During his latest stay at A Dog's Dream, Noah wasn't eating well the first day and a half. We got a text from Dan, the owner, letting us know what was going on and that he was going to move him to VIP so that it was quieter for him. They gave him some wet food and baby food to try to entice him to eat and also put Pedialyte in his water to make sure he was getting enough nutrients. I'm happy to say that he started eating and had a great rest of his visit. On top of all that, I wasn't charged anything for the extra attention that Noah needed. I'm really blown away by the generosity and care that we received during this stay. From check-in to check-out, the process was organized, professional, and easy. Thanks again Dan for all you do. I don't know what goes on in there, but my rescued Dane had been there for a time. When I tried to go in to pick up some prizes that I had won, she dug in her heels and refused to go in. She likes going in places, we had just come from the mechanic. But she would choke to death on her collar before she would go in there. Don't know what they did to her, but it upset her great enough that years later she wouldn't walk through their door. read more

Worst grooming in New Bern. The owner will respond to this review and say I cussed his employees out and my dogs had fleas as well as being matted. All lies! Says he has me cussing his staff out on video, let's see the footage another lie. 0 Stars!!! As you can see below, he turns on the customer instead of owning up to his business doing something wrong. What happened to the customer being right. All he had to do was apologize. I'm a reasonable person. Every negative review he has online, he has an excuse for it. Never sides or apologizes to the customer. Sorry but that's a red flag in itself. Wish I had of vetted his business a bit more. Also he deleted all negative reviews on his FB page. Posted on several social avenues and you'd be surprised at the negative feedback about this business I've had posted on my feeds. A Dog's Dreamed turned into my dogs nightmare. He came home after being boarded for 5 days with worms, kennel cough, and a UTI. $300 later at the vet we are on the road to getting better. I spent $250 to have him boarded. I expected him to be safe and taken care of. All of these things he has could be prevented if there were better sanitation methods put into place to ensure dogs are protected. Never again will I let my dog step foot into this place. read more

We went in yesterday morning to fill out paperwork so that we could bring Annie (our Border Collie) in for a bath, haircut, etc. Yesterday was awesome. The girl at the front counter was friendly and helpful, telling us it would only take about an hour and half and asked us what we wanted done (a bath, a haircut and specific length shown on their haircut chart, nail trimming, ear cleaning, etc.). This morning was totally different. The ladies that were at the front desk when we got there were asking the same questions that we had already been asked and answered yesterday... When I told the groomer what I wanted, she said that they didn't do "in between hair length cuts", and wasn't very friendly at all. Then proceeded to ask what else I wanted done, like I never spoke to anybody yesterday at all. They also seemed surprised at our showing up like they weren't expecting us... The other lady took down my phone number and said they would call when she was finished. Annie's appointment was at 9:30am, at 12:35pm I decided it was time to call because this was way more than an hour and a half like we were told it would be yesterday. That didn't bother me too much, being that she is a hairy border collie and I just assumed it was just that.... UNTIL, I got her in the car and was driving up the road to our house when my 8yr old said it looked like blood on the backseat where Annie was sitting.... I still just figured it was water from her bath... Until we got home and there was blood all over the backseat and on the doorstep to the house... When we finally got Annie to calm down so I could look at her foot (her back left), they had trimmed one of her toe nails so short it was bleeding and the nail was split to boot. This is my guess as to why it took them 3 and a half hours to groom her.... Also, they don't tell you how much it's going to cost until you're checking out and then asked if we wanted our receipt... Of course we do. Sheesh. The price seemed reasonable ($62.00) being that she's a Border Collie, but we honestly don't even know what they did exactly besides a bath and a haircut and trimmed her nails too low and didn't bother to tell us when we picked her up... They didn't explain what had been done at all. Just handed us Annie and asked for my payment... We were excited to try a new doggy grooming place in our area, but honestly we won't be going back. And we won't be recommending it to anybody either. Disappointed to say the least... Especially that it is a Veteran owned establishment and we are a Marine Corps family in the area, we expected more. read more

Called just a few min ago.. explained that I have an territorial dog and that she shouldn't be around other dogs but I'd still want her to be walked... Owner jumped on the phone made employee get off and was really rude stating that they only allow spayed or neutered animals .. I thought if you were a boarding facility you shouldn't force a parent to have to spay or neuter their anima, that shows you obviously cang properly run a business if you dony know how to handle aggressive animals. He also stated that you have to have a walk in social interview before they decide if they want your dog... I will never do business with this company read more

We were traveling through with our 3 French Bulldogs - Eva, Ellie, & Emmitt - and wanted to visit Tryon Palace which doesn't allow furkids. I called A Dogs Dream to find out about daycare and not only was she super accommodating but also genuinely excited to meet our furbabies. We were able to leave them at daycare for a couple hours while we did our tourist stuff which was so much better than leaving them in a hotel or not being able to sightsee at all. We got to pick up 3 very tuckered out pups that slept the rest of the roadtrip We found out they are also actively involved in rescue organizations & veterans groups. We were more than happy to buy raffle tickets while we were there to support their awesome cause. This was our daycare dream come true. I wish we had one of these back home in Pensacola. They also stock all the best treats & toys - we got a monkey & a unicorn for our kids to play with later in the trip. I didn't get her name but their front desk customer service lady obviously loves her job & is an absolute gem! I enjoyed talking about pups with her. We are super appreciative that they helped us out so we could sightsee while our babies were safe. This place is 10+++++ awesome sauce. read more

I wouldn't even give them a star. I made reservations for the fourth of July weekend. I was going to drop of my dog on Friday as I was going out of town. When we got there nobody was there. I tried calling and emailing and I didn't get an answer. More people started to show up and we waited some more. Finally someone came who had the owner's number. The owner said that he wasn't planning on coming in but he would come in at 4:00. It was 11:30 when we were there. Who would make people wait for over 4 hours to drop off their dog?? read more

My dog and I love Dog's Dream. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I board my dog for a week or more frequently throughout the year. I always sign up for day play, and I can watch her interact with the other dogs on the "puppy camera" . She returns from each stay happy, clean, and tired. read more

Whenever we are in North Carolina, which is a couple of times per year, this is the only place I take my babies for daycare or boarding. This is hands down the best place to take your "children" for daycare & boarding! Sammie & Charlie love it there, they both come home tired from all the playtime! Everyone there really care about the dogs, you can tell by how they interact with them. It is also very reassuring knowing that every dog there is current with all their shots, no chance of your pup "catching anything from the other pups. read more
