Have not been in a while.....Overall not bad but......one of the groomers, named Janet, is my only complaint. She is the one with long dark hair. I will not be returning because of the way she treated us on multiple occasions. Very sarcastic, takes forever to groom the dogs but still does a halfway job.......cuts corners. She is rude, cut my mother in laws nails on only two feet and barely took any length off. The other two feet were not even touched. Did a sloppy job grooming and the dog was returned to us smelling the same as it did when it came in. I am skeptical the dog was even bathed. The cut was choppy and rushed, we asked for the anal glands to be done and they were still impacted when we picked the dog up. Paid for the groom that included ear cleaning and nail grinding and tooth brushing but none of those things were done. VERY disappointed..... Also. I attended a luncheon get together with some acquaintances last week and heard from two of them they had a similar experience with a woman by the name of Janet from dogs dreams. Another friend several days prior had commented on fb post that she had called to get her dog groomed and an older woman on the phone was extremely disrespectful and didn't initiate anything, it was like pulling teeth to get answers to questions she said. The employee is the one who should initiate and be inviting and ask if you have questions. Not just flat one word answer. Although the friend did not know the name of the employee and only described the apathetic monotone voice, I know it was her. The other girls are all sweet as pie. All very willing to help. have not met the owner but I do not care to because if he continues to allow this behavior to happen, clearly he does not value his customers enough to put a stop to it. Also, upon reading through the reviews.....it seems I am not the only one who has issues with her. The only complaint I see Over and over is about this janet. yet the behavior somehow is allowed to continue time after time.....It is going to drag that business down with her chasing every other customer away. I am sure a good 1/3 at least are chased away before they even walk through the door, or at least before they return a second time. That makes 3 different people I have now heard from personally who had a bad experience with the groomer Janet plus all the negative reviews I have read about her......makes me wonder,if she treats humans so badly.....how does she treat the dogs.........I can't speak to that because never seen her mistreat a dog...don't get me wrong I have no reason to believe that.....but it does truly make me wonder......no respect for other people whatsoever and no love in her heart. So rude!!. I went in their earlier this week and the front desk lady was on the phone talking to someone. She was sweet and smile and said "I'm sorr y" seemed like she was rushing to help me and get off phoneThere was a short older lady standing with her back facing me and she knew the young lady was on the phone and trying to help and she did nothing at all just ignored me like she was mean and bitter and acted so cold toward me the front desk lady should have asked the coworker to help her instead of letting a customer stand there unhelped and letting herself be stressed while the other lady stands there rudely but at least she tried to talk and smile at me and apologized. Then I asked the question I had about pricing and the old woman turns around abruptly and snaps with an attitude and says "it's 50" for the price and says nothing else.. instead of "hello welcome, the price will be 50 dollars here's what to do" she just snaps, and glares at me as I walk out the door... I would be very surprised if these people get many new clients I am sure with that attitude she chases a good number of them away. Later that day my wife called and the same lady was on the phone. She was very rude on the phone as well and I know it's the same woman because she was on speaker. Same voice and rude apathetic cold tone....why do people like this get to keep their job when a million people equally talented but with way better customer service skills? My daughter has been looking for work for almost 6 months and has amazing customer service and smiles and is up beat and nice and warm and welcoming. This woman stares and is rude and doesn't care at all if she makes someone feel welcome or not. I felt bad for the younger woman she looked like she felt so awkward and like she felt bad about how rude the other woman was but she didn't want to make her angry . Do not disrespect yourself by coming to this place she will make you feel stupid for even walking thru the door in the first place or picking up the phone. And my dog wasn't neutered so I couldn't come anyway it's just the principle of treat people like you want to be treated !! read more

I first stopped into A Dog's Dream after being recommended by a friend of the owner. I live in Jacksonville but work in New Bern so while I'm working my 2 doggies need a place to hang out and expel all their energy! I was pleased to see an inviting lobby, and was welcomed by two smiling employees who gave me some information on the facilities and assisted me with signing my dogs up for daycare. I was also treated to a tour of the building which was nice to see where my dogs would be while they'd be there. For their first time at the daycare, they were there for just a few hours- for their evaluation of temperaments and such which seemed to have gone great! And, I was very happy my pups were tuckered out and slept pretty much the whole hour car ride home! Then for their first official stay at daycare I booked them for a half day, and I was so quick to drop them off to not be late for work that I made the mistake of not asking when they closed. I had it in my head, for some reason they stayed open until 7 and I'd have no problem getting back in time. Come 6:30 and I'm leaving work to go get them, arrive and immediately panic that they were closed(had closed at 6) and I felt like the worst person in the world. My dogs mean everything to me and I felt I had let them down! And had made a terrible impression to the employees that I'd just forgotten my dogs. I was distraught and kept calling the business number hoping someone would answer. I finally had the idea to message their Facebook page and thankfully got an almost immediate response from the wonderful Robin- my savior!! She offered to come by and let me get my dogs, this was around 715 now and I was ecstatic! I could not thank her enough, and was so happy to have my dogs! This experience has assured me that my dogs are in good, caring, and responsible hands while here and I'm looking forward to bringing them back in when I can! Thank you so much for the after hours help, it meant the world to me!! read more

Dan and his staff are amazing with Gator and all of the others that I have seen their interaction with. I have stood at the desk for 20 minutes or so some mornings and all of the dogs that come in are excited to be there and are greeted almost as humans! I have boarded my dog several times, and sometimes for a couple of weeks, and have had no worries or concerns about his well-being. The webcams installed are a great way to view Gator, and at times when I had not seen him on camera for a while, I have called and they would go find him and bring him to the camera viewing area for me. The pool is a great time for him as well, and one of the staff is in the pool with them. They are diligent about current shot records and will let you know when a vet visit is due so as not to break up day care/boarding visits. I would highly recommend this business for all of your puppy needs. They are professional and caring and know that they are being trusted with a "child" of the family. I have used several different places in the Craven county area for services with my dogs and none of them compare to A Dog's Dream! I went to one of the "flashy" competitors with a new building and all I can say is "don't judge a book by its cover." The team at A Dog's Dream is so helpful and willing to take the extra steps to ensure my pups are taken care of. Before you just drop your dog off, take the time to actually talk to the team and you will quickly realize why you want to work with them. At other facilities, it felt like I was an annoyance, but at A Dog's Dream they are excited to see my and my guys. The last time I was there the team went above and beyond by giving my guys a free bath. I had to leave them longer than expect and they surprised me by giving them free baths! Our dog loves this place! For our family, A Dog's Dream is the perfect place to bring our fur kid for socializing, and he has a great time every time he's here. When we opt for the grooming package, he comes out tail-wagging, nails polished, looking so fresh and so clean clean. All of the staff is friendly and courteous, but I'd like to emphasize how great Mr. Julius is. His patience on the phone with my million questions was mirrored in his patience and demeanor with the dogs, and he always seems as genuinely glad to see our puppo as our puppo is to see him. Sometimes it's hard to leave your pets for hours an wonder how they're doing- I don't have that concern when Mr. Julius is around. A++ would recommend, the only thing I would change about this place is offering 1/2 day packages or allowing the full-day packages to be split as such. read more

My man finally got a job and needed a place to bring his dog..so my cousin recommend this place..her dog came there for a long time. I only been there a few time but I never been disappointed.. the pregnant girl named haley is always helpful. she put a smile on my face every day when i come in. and a brown hair girl name jes s very sweet and funny.n smart too i aint never seen nobody so happy about dogs in my life every time my dog come in. they both always tell me what my dog did that day and what dogs he friends with. I hear from two separate ppl the owner is really cool. and his dog always so happy n tired when i pick em up so i know she aint lying about them playing ! we recommend them a+++ read more

We couldn't have been more satisfied with leaving our Golden Retriever, Yeti, in the care of this fine staff. We never worried a minute about him. The atmosphere is loving, fun and we felt like we were leaving him in the care of family. The cameras are an added plus when we found ourselves missing Yeti. :) When we picked him up, he seemed to have made new friends and anxious to get back! I let my fur baby Cooper stay at A Dog's Dream for a week while on vacation. The staff was welcoming and gently guided my anxious pup to his home away from home. It was especially heartwarming to receive a letter from the owner in regards to a recent tragedy at a nearby kennel. It truly helped calm my fears. I was visiting from out of town and registered my dog several weeks before my arrival so I had a place for her to go to socialize with other dogs and get some exercise for a couple of days instead of sitting in a hotel room. What a great place! Abbey was tuckered out after her visits! I felt comfortable leaving her and will be sure to use this daycare when I come to town again. read more

BEST dog daycare! They treat the dogs as their own. They truly care about them! Love being able to look on the dog cam and see them playing throughout the day. They have pool days a couple days a week and my dog LOVES it! He gets excited every time we pull up and is so tired when I pick him up. HIGHLY recommend! When we got our Siberian Husky he didn't know how to play or accept love ( he was a rescue) 2 months later we started taking him to camp and he is now a little social butterfly! My two pups received first class grooming at A Dog's Dream! Cleaned, trimmed, dried and smelling fresh - the works in under two hours. Even several days later, they are still smelling great. The staff is amazing, my dog adores all of them. She is never stressed about going, she gets so excited she wiggles! She comes home happy and "dog tired" from playing all day. I never have to worry about my two dogs care when I drop them off. I can go on vacation and relax. Other places left sores on the dogs from being in a cage all day. Never had a problem here. read more
