they should rename a dogs dream " a pet owners paradise" mollie jane had her spa day last week and she happy danced all the way there and all the way home she was given the royal treatment and she came out looking beautiful. an awesome groom job, a fun day of play and the socialization has been a great experience.(she even found a special playmate-jack" it is such a relief knowing your baby is being so well cared for-i cannot thank them enough for their all-around services!

Still my favorite doggie daycare after all these years. They were so accommodating during the hurricane and collected/distributed dog food and supplies. No need for me to make a recommendation as my three dogs get so excited to go to daycare. I think that is indicative of a wonderful place!

Noah always loves his stays at A Dog's Dream when we go off on vacation! We just got back from a week long vacation to the beach and I'm so grateful of the care that Noah received while we where gone. Noah has always suffered from separation anxiety when we leave him anywhere (even with my mom which he knows really well). During his latest stay at A Dog's Dream, Noah wasn't eating well the first day and a half. We got a text from Dan, the owner, letting us know what was going on and that he was going to move him to VIP so that it was quieter for him. They gave him some wet food and baby food to try to entice him to eat and also put Pedialyte in his water to make sure he was getting enough nutrients. I'm happy to say that he started eating and had a great rest of his visit. On top of all that, I wasn't charged anything for the extra attention that Noah needed. I'm really blown away by the generosity and care that we received during this stay. From check-in to check-out, the process was organized, professional, and easy. Thanks again Dan for all you do. You truly have a passion for what you do and it shows. Summary: I promise you, there is no better doggy day care in Eastern NC!

Ashe loves everyone at A Dogs Dream. Although she missed her momma.

They always take good care of my girl! They even recognize her out in town. Easy to make reservations with them and the webcam is nice to be able to see your pup while away.

"I had a blast at daycare! Thank you for taking care of us while Mom & Dad went to Tryon Palace!" - Love, Ellie

I took my dog for grooming and he was over due. They did a great job. He looks and feels like a new dog. I will be back.

The effort that Dan and his whole staff put into making day camp and boarding such a great experience for our dogs goes above and beyond.

Though expensive, we have had nothing but good experiences keeping our dogs with them until most recently. One of our dogs, a very social and well behaved West Highland terrier, was banned from spending any time with other dogs on the 2nd day of a 7-day stay after bitting another dog. He spent 6 out of the 7 days of our trip either in the kennel or, for some reason, the hallway outside the kennel while our other dog was in the kennel--a very strange decision given that he's great with our other dog. Why not have them in the same space? Though my Westie has never shown signs of violence or aggressiveness before, I realize the need for them to be careful and protect the other dogs, but no one at American Pet Resort contacted us to tell us what had occurred. We learned after looking at the online cameras. There we saw our Westie confined to his kennel while all the other dogs, including our second dog, were playing outside. Why didn't someone from the kennel call us to let us know? That kind of proactive communication is something I expect. I was none too pleased to find out what happened only after having to make a call to find out why our Westie was left alone in his kennel during outside time. While away, I made a call suggesting the staff place my Westie and my second dog in a separate outdoor space with one another. The staff member I spoke to said they would do so, but they only did so once. Our Westie spent the next 5 days out of our 7 day trip in either in his kennel or the hallway (?) just outside of the kennel, and has been banned from outdoor play with other dogs during future visits. We will make sure that there will be no future visits.

Within days of surgery he was vomiting, not eating, losing weight, and fighting a severe infection. I fought for him with every vet visit and medication they gave but he DIDN'T survive. He came out sick, suffering, and fighting for survival and now HE IS GONE. What makes this unbearable is how the clinic handled it. When I begged for answers and accountability, I was met with condescension, dismissiveness, and zero compassion. My dog is dead at just two years old, and the people responsible refused to even acknowledge their role or offer any help. They tried to blame his "congenital defects" and anything else they could come up with, rather than admit their lack of competency and failure to truly look at all the facts. His care felt half-hearted, reactive, and sloppy until it was too late. When I met with the owner, Dr. Stelma, after my dog died, I was treated with arrogance and coldness. He was rude, dismissive, kept checking his watch while I was pouring out my grief, and made it painfully clear he cared more about money and his practice's image than the lives of the animals trusted to him. Ranger was my family. He slept by my side every night since he was 8 weeks old. Now I am left devastated, heartbroken, and furious. If you love your pet, DO NOT RISK THEIR LIFE HERE. I hope this shows you the risks of this place.

They ask that all…read moreyour pets are up to date on their vaccinations, and their prices are higher than at other pet care businesses in the area here, but the quality is well worth the extra $$. They separate dogs by temperament, so that high energy dogs like ours get to hang out with like-minded dogs instead of overwhelming the more laid-back ones - benefiting both the quieter pups and our very enthusiastic, very friendly buddy dog. The facility -scratch that- the resort looks amazing, inside and out - it honestly looks like anything a dog could want out of a doggy hotel, and honestly it looks better than a lot of human hotels, too! The first time I left my dog for boarding, I thought she'd be happy to see me, but she almost turned around and went back inside, lol Chani doesn't require a lot of grooming, so I can't speak personally on that account, but I usually get her nails trimmed there, and she always comes out looking her best. The people there are always positive and upbeat when I've gone, and you can tell they love their jobs and care about the pets they're entrusted with. They're my go-to when we go traveling, and the basic package is very reasonable and has everything you need to take care of your dog. They also have tons of fun add-ons (which can stack up when you're not looking, hehe) that let you make the experience that much better for your pup while you're away. Chani has boarded twice for several days each, and has gone typically about once or twice a month for socializing, grooming, nail trimming, fun, etc. I will continue to use their services for as long as I'm in the area, and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to have peace of mind when it comes to making sure their furry friends are taken care of.

Check in was efficient after an employee took them back I never got any updates while I was away. It would seem to be an easy text to assure me that they were safe and doing well. A picture or two would have been welcomed. When I asked how they did the person taking my money said "fine". That s didn't settle for me. The price charged was a lot and I couldn't afford all the extras like play time with the other dogs for $20+ per day per dog so I could see them play on a camera. I thought that would be part of boarding. Not here. It is a beautiful building and location but I won't be bringing them to this place again unless they offer more services with boarding. And I had to pay a holiday bonus charge for 5 of the days for each dog.
