Normal ball python in their reptile room, severely dehydrated and underweight

Went in to look at ball pythons because I've looking into getting another one. This poor thing is severely dehydrated and underweight, it more than likely doesn't have much longer. The way they keep their ball pythons is not proper and any snake keeper would know that. They need substrate that holds humidity and they need proper hides not just half logs where they are still clearly visible. They have nothing reading the temps or the humidity levels to make sure the snakes enclosures are good for them. Also keepers know that cohabitation is not recommended in the snake world and they have two snakes together in two of the tanks. Also multiple tanks had urate in them. Overall I left disgusted and sad for these poor snakes. And I so badly wanted to try and save the one I took a pic of but I could not give the owners $90 for a snake when they are the reason it's in this condition and just so they can replace it with another to mistreat!

All American Pet Resort - New Bern

My wife and I have taken our two 12-year-old dogs to American Pet Resort since we moved to New Bern…read more2 years ago for both boarding and daycare services. Though expensive, we have had nothing but good experiences keeping our dogs with them until most recently. One of our dogs, a very social and well behaved West Highland terrier, was banned from spending any time with other dogs on the 2nd day of a 7-day stay after bitting another dog. He spent 6 out of the 7 days of our trip either in the kennel or, for some reason, the hallway outside the kennel while our other dog was in the kennel--a very strange decision given that he's great with our other dog. Why not have them in the same space? Though my Westie has never shown signs of violence or aggressiveness before, I realize the need for them to be careful and protect the other dogs, but no one at American Pet Resort contacted us to tell us what had occurred. We learned after looking at the online cameras. There we saw our Westie confined to his kennel while all the other dogs, including our second dog, were playing outside. Why didn't someone from the kennel call us to let us know? That kind of proactive communication is something I expect. I was none too pleased to find out what happened only after having to make a call to find out why our Westie was left alone in his kennel during outside time. While away, I made a call suggesting the staff place my Westie and my second dog in a separate outdoor space with one another. The staff member I spoke to said they would do so, but they only did so once. Our Westie spent the next 5 days out of our 7 day trip in either in his kennel or the hallway (?) just outside of the kennel, and has been banned from outdoor play with other dogs during future visits. We will make sure that there will be no future visits.

We love Lynaires and would not take our two "babies" Maxx and Jaxx anywhere else. We always get the luxury suites. The owner and staff at Lynaires always go the extra mile to ensure the finest quality care and compassion for all the cats and dogs there. Her entire staff have worked for the owner Linda for over 8/10 years from what she told us. Now that speaks volumes! They have completely re built and updated their prior building into an even more beautiful facility with state of the art quality construction, way above what's required of state safety code. Your pets are safer there than in your home! They know us by name and often send us pics and updates on our dogs while we are on the road. They even put our Maxx and Jaxx on the front of their new brochure! Linda the owner gave us one of the very first personal tours of her beautiful facility and at the time we had never met her, she just saw us in the waiting room and asked us if she could show us around. The staff even lie down in the floor with our babies and nap with them with occassionally when they get a little anxious there. (Unheard of anywhere else) They make it an easy decision for us to hit the road, be it business or pleasure trip! We would probably stay home more often if not for the confidence we have in Lynaires. Our military friends on Cherry Point Marine station recommended them to us. Call Linda or any staff member for a private tour today for your "babies" (By the way) Our profile photo on here is Maxx and Jaxx relaxing outside Lynaires in the beautiful courtyard with two of their awesome caretakers! I also learned a lot about how to work with my dog. I appreciated being able to check in on my dog daily through Facebook and the visits to work together on training. Very professional. Have you ever had something happen with a pup and you are completely lost on what to do? Well…read morethat's what happened with us and we are sooooo thankful for Mike at Anytime Dog Training!! Our 5 month old male pittie mix bit our son requiring a trip to the pediatrician and 2 fur parents who have dogs all their lives with no clue what to do with the pup. We didn't want to give him away, we contacted the rescue we got him from who said they'd probably put him down, so I started reaching out to trainers for help. The email I sent Anytime Dog Training probably made me sound like a crazy person just overreacting, but I was anxious and overwhelmed, and Mike reached out on the day they received the email (the day they were closed btw) to find out what was going on and were able to come over the next day for a consult. We felt immediately better after meeting Mike and his wife and knew we had picked the right place. We dropped our pup Loki off for a 3 week board and train for behavioral modification and knew he'd be ok. The facility was clean and well-maintained, nice and cool on one of the hottest days of the year so far. It's always scary leaving your baby for their first overnight stay away from home but Mike eased our nerves by sharing videos of Loki making new friends, putting in the training work, and how absolutely happy he was being there. Mike brought him to our home several times throughout the weeks for us to train with Loki as a family for us to see how far he'd come in his training, along with getting our son comfortable with Loki again. I mean Loki loves Mike, and you've gotta be a pretty good guy to gain the love and respect from a big head bully pup! We could not be anymore impressed with Mike's skill and expertise with training our stubborn Loki, and answering all the questions and the fears from his mama lol. Teaching Loki to be a better version of his self was worth every penny we spent for the care and professionalism he received. Now that we know we've found the best, we will never board our Loki anywhere else. Plus definitely plan on sending him and his big sister Penny there for doggy daycare to play again soon!!

They ask that all…read moreyour pets are up to date on their vaccinations, and their prices are higher than at other pet care businesses in the area here, but the quality is well worth the extra $$. They separate dogs by temperament, so that high energy dogs like ours get to hang out with like-minded dogs instead of overwhelming the more laid-back ones - benefiting both the quieter pups and our very enthusiastic, very friendly buddy dog. The facility -scratch that- the resort looks amazing, inside and out - it honestly looks like anything a dog could want out of a doggy hotel, and honestly it looks better than a lot of human hotels, too! The first time I left my dog for boarding, I thought she'd be happy to see me, but she almost turned around and went back inside, lol Chani doesn't require a lot of grooming, so I can't speak personally on that account, but I usually get her nails trimmed there, and she always comes out looking her best. The people there are always positive and upbeat when I've gone, and you can tell they love their jobs and care about the pets they're entrusted with. They're my go-to when we go traveling, and the basic package is very reasonable and has everything you need to take care of your dog. They also have tons of fun add-ons (which can stack up when you're not looking, hehe) that let you make the experience that much better for your pup while you're away. Chani has boarded twice for several days each, and has gone typically about once or twice a month for socializing, grooming, nail trimming, fun, etc. I will continue to use their services for as long as I'm in the area, and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to have peace of mind when it comes to making sure their furry friends are taken care of.

The price charged was a lot and I couldn't afford all the extras like play time with the other dogs for $20+ per day per dog so I could see them play on a camera. I thought that would be part of boarding. Not here. It is a beautiful building and location but I won't be bringing them to this place again unless they offer more services with boarding. And I had to pay a holiday bonus charge for 5 of the days for each dog.
