He didn't explain why and I am not sure why there is an appointment system if he wasn't there. I show him a picture of the style I want and he suggested me to get a perm. I explained I don't like perm but he kept asking me to get one before and after the cut. I understood my hair is hard and straight so a perm would make it easier to style, but I would have appreciated him suggesting another hairstyle instead of kept asking me for a perm. The haircut process was very nice though. Alan was very meticulous and it came out pretty nice. It took about another hour for the cut itself. Overall, I think the haircut is good and reasonably priced, but spending 1.5 hour for a simple cut is a bit too long. Maybe it's an exception this time. I would give it another try if I am in the area.

The most important thing a barber can do is listen to you and learn exactly how you like your cut. I've rolled the dice on barbershops that I knew nothing about and usually crapped out. Recommendations are the way to go. Michael listened carefully and went to work. He could tell that I had cut my hair about a month ago. Nice! The guy knows his stuff. Anyway, I had a good cut at a good price and that is all I'm looking for. I'm guy on a budget and place a premium on value. Michael is it.

Situation: Color Correction *see photos*…read more Background: Bad balayage at another at Stilo Salon, by the owner no less, and turned out nowhere near the inspiration photos I brought in. I was hoping for beige highlights and got bright blonde. I asked for a refund and was only offered a "fix it at no cost". I declined. Intervention: Reached out to Vance who did my hair in the past. Don't ask me why I just didn't come back. Vance was able to see me pretty quick and did an AMAZING job!! He gave me beige highlights and darkened the base which I just love. I'm tanned skin so the blonde highlights was not flattering. Evaluation: I am forever grateful for Vance. He is very skilled at his craft. The result was exactly what I was hoping for from the very beginning when I stepped into the other salon. Note to self....i will never see any other stylist. I highly recommend Vance if you're looking for a highly skilled professional that will make you leave his chair feeling confident and amazing about your hair!!!

She does my mom's hair as well and always does a great job. Besides color, she cuts hair great too! Adults and kids! The salon is nice! Clean, organized and private. This place always delivers!…read more At this point I've been coming here for a few years and it's always consistently spot on for balayage. I've done icy blonde highlights, to the newer bronde trend, and they always have high quality work that grows out great. The salon is spacious, clean, well ventilated and comfortable. Clean bathroom, always offer drinks and snacks. Marjorie has done the majority of my coloring jobs and if you're unsure about color choice, is definitely trustworthy to advise on a choice. She is hilarious too! Thiri is great especially with extreme colors / while it's not a look for me, I see girls leaving her chair looking more vibrant than a my little pony. Karen does great haircuts as well. Prices for all their services are reasonable - I just wish they were closer to my home! One of favorite go-tos on the peninsula- please never change lol.
