I showed her exactly what I wanted, and told her very specific details about the cut that I wanted, and what I normally do with my hair. For example I use a wax to mess my hair up. My hair now, couldn't be any more different from the picture I showed her if I cut it myself blindfolded. It's literally twice as short as I asked for. And at the end she put gel in my hair. Completely opposite of what I told her I generally do. Now I understand that hairstyles, head shapes, hairlines etc. differ from person to person.. And it's almost impossible to get an exact replication of what is in the picture. But a decent hairstylist will at least try their best to get it in the ballpark. This wasn't even close. It was as if I booked a flight to Las Vegas, and ended up in Bangor, Maine. With only a "sorry" after my distaste was voiced. If you need a good haircut, I'm sure Kathy at Linda's will do a wonderful job.. Gayle? Make sure she understands exactly what it is you want. And maybe double check with her a time or two. I cannot speak for the other stylists as I've never gotten haircuts from them.

Although I was completely happy with my stylist in Elk River, a salon "1 block away" will win all the time. I did not know Keila, so I sent her a DM to introduce myself and schedule an appointment....a 'trial' run, if you will. Keila did not disappoint! As a new client, we both needed to get to know each other and be on the same page. She listened to me, made suggestions, told me what my hair would not be able to do, and together we found a style that worked. LOVE my new cut. Keila is personable, professional, and has great skills. I will continue to go 1 block away for my cuts. :)

It recently re-opened after a make over and it looks great! My hair was highlighted, cut and styled as I liked it, and I was pleased. It is a higher end salon, so the prices reflect that, but you get what you pay for. Will be back!'

They decided to dye my hair a dark burnt bark brown with about 5 strands of blonde highlights left on my head... I walked into this salon with more blonde on my head and left a brunette. Is that a good experience.. no. The stylist or more so the "murderess of blonde hair" had such a horrible attitude through the whole ordeal. Never received an apology or anything from the owner or the stylist. They defended their work and therefore defended their inapt ability to understand english. Proving they are the worst salon in Minnesota.
