He asked me some questions and after that the haircut didn't take long and looks nice. I'm assuming this isn't the original Richie as this place was here at least since the 70s and my barber was a young guy. He changed $12 for the cut so I think I've found my new barber!

I love these ladies!…read more Shelly did the most amazing job with my mess of a mop one might call hair. Thin and curly with weird parts and straight ends, its unruly. for the cut, she needed very little instruction, I just roughly told her what I liked and didn't like about my hair and she did her thing and made my mess beautiful and healthy looking again. For the color, I simply showed her a picture of what I wanted and I got it, but better than I expected it to come out. The best part is the price: $50, including a generous tip, for a cut and color that would've cost me $200 in the cities. Its even worth it to make the drive to Hinckley. It works out nicely for me because I have a friend that lives there, but hey, make a day of it and spend some time at the Casino after being beautified by the ladies at Pat's Hair Design. One item to note, this business is located in a house, so don't look for a storefront, find the address or use your GPS. Oh, and don't park anyone in the driveway, you never know when they will need to leave. Plenty of street parking available for this small town salon. If any of you ladies ever want to car pool up there, you just let me know. So pleased! Actually, one more thing, they only take checks or cash, so plan accordingly.

IMHO: Call ahead, expect friendly and highly competent service, and don't forget cash/check payment.

I showed her exactly what I wanted, and told her very specific details about the cut that I wanted, and what I normally do with my hair. For example I use a wax to mess my hair up. My hair now, couldn't be any more different from the picture I showed her if I cut it myself blindfolded. It's literally twice as short as I asked for. And at the end she put gel in my hair. Completely opposite of what I told her I generally do. Now I understand that hairstyles, head shapes, hairlines etc. differ from person to person.. And it's almost impossible to get an exact replication of what is in the picture. But a decent hairstylist will at least try their best to get it in the ballpark. This wasn't even close. It was as if I booked a flight to Las Vegas, and ended up in Bangor, Maine. With only a "sorry" after my distaste was voiced. If you need a good haircut, I'm sure Kathy at Linda's will do a wonderful job.. Gayle? Make sure she understands exactly what it is you want. And maybe double check with her a time or two. I cannot speak for the other stylists as I've never gotten haircuts from them.
