I have been meaning to write this review for a while. A Clear Choice has maintained our pool (and opened and closed it) the past two summers. They do an absolutely wonderful job. Our pool is crystal clear, and we never have any issues with it in between service visits. In addition, every single one of their staff who I've interacted with is unfailingly polite, friendly, and helpful. They always wave hello and smile to our kids. Recently, we were swimming as they arrived, and they offered to do our neighbor's pool first so we could have more time to swim. They made my kids' day. (Especially since it rained later that afternoon!) We knew absolutely nothing about pools when we bought our house, and their staff are so patient and thorough when answering all my newbie questions. When I call the office and the woman answers, she is always extremely helpful. Like many small businesses right now, they seem to be struggling a bit with returning phone calls, yet I can't fault them for that when everything else they do is so high quality. Clear choice closed our pool and did a horrible job, The two workers that showed up were in a hurry and had zero quality for their work. They didn't use all the floats from previous closing, did not return my calls or texted that the job was not complete, ...Crickets. I would utilize any other company but clear choice read more

My pool looks great! It pains me to write a 5 star review for this place because it means they will become even more busy but the team here is very talented. They do a fantastic job keeping my pool clean and are extremely knowledgeable. So far, my experiences with them have only been during the busiest of the busy season. It can be difficult to get ahold of Greg when things need his approval but there is always someone you can talk to and they are always friendly. After comparing multiple quotes, I determined pricing to be about the same as competitors, very reasonable, and no haggling was needed. I am excited to work with them on bigger projects for my pool and highly recommend if you are in need of a pool company. read more

We hired this company to re-plaster a pool. There was a delay getting started due to lack of materials. When crew showed up (we were not notified when they were coming), they chipped away all the old plaster and left plenty of it for us to get rid of. So plastering got done. When job was finished, pool was filled and it looked OK. Then, the gentleman who came (alone) to replace grout between slate tiles, left all the mess INSIDE the pool, Again, I called company and was told a crew would be there to clean up the mess and clean the concrete dust from the filter. No one ever showed up. When it was 1st used in June, it was discovered that the 4 steps had been (for lack of a better word) destroyed, Each step was at least 3/4 of an inch out of level. This makes it dangerous to enter pool. After countless phone calls and messages, Greg finally came to inspect it in July and told us he would contact plasterers to come back and fix problem. Never heard from him again! My estimate from at REAL pool builder is over $5K to fix this problem. Beware of this company!! read more

This company is terrific! Greg came out to assess the scope of the job (new components, leak repair, re-piping for our pool), gave us a very fair estimate, and we scheduled the work. He and his crew arrived as scheduled, and did a great job, returning several days later to complete a change to the proposal I had requested. I had considered doing the job myself, but when I saw the level of care and expertise in their work, I knew I'd made the right decision hiring a professional, and an exceptionally good one at that! Very diligent, very knowledgeable, and personable as well, and that's a rare combination. They're a small business and they provide great pricing, flexible scheduling and excellent results. They're now the only name on my go-to list for pool repairs. Superb! read more

Had a terrible pool inspection by this company while purchasing a new house. One big and very important (and costly) item that they missed was a broken skimmer. There is only one skimmer in my pool, not sure how that was missed. The ring that holds the basket in place on the skimmer was missing! The basket was literally floating in the skimmer. How could any professional pool person miss such an obvious defect? If the inspector (Jeff) was at all knowledgeable he would have picked up on that upon opening the lid to the skimmer. When my wife contacted him about the missing ring in the skimmer which was immediately found by another pool company, Jeff said something along the lines of 'I might have missed that'. I would accept a reply like that if it were for a missed spot of algae next to the steps of the pool, or an overlooked small crack in the coping. Not a missing ring around the skimmer basket that feeds to one of the main arteries of the pool. Jeff's 'I might have missed that' mistake will now cost us 100s of dollars to fix. We hired A Clear Choice Pool Service for the inspection because we had never owned a pool and wanted pool company to give us a run down of any issues. Instead, we received an incompetent inspection. If an adequate report were given we could have requested the sellers pay for this in the inspection addendum. We contacted the owner Greg Colebrook of A Clear Choice Pool Service of the defect, and he said the issue should have been reported by the sellers. Well, yes, that is true. However, that is why we paid $175 inspection fee to your company - to find issues! Especially obvious ones. I can't comment on their typical pool service and if it is any good. What I can comment on is their ability to inspect a pool, which you can see above is sub-par. Based on that I would be hesitant to use them for any services. There are plenty of pool companies around. I would recommend NOT using A Clear Choice Pool Service. Spend your money elsewhere.I would give zero stars if that were an option. read more

Great company, great customer service...This was the year that everything went wrong with my pool and the rainiest spring I can remember. Greg sent his crew to open my pool and when I sent him a picture that my pool wasn't clearing up properly, he personally came over and tore apart my filter and discovered a broken manifold. The next morning he showed up with a new manifold and fixed the problem. Three days later my green water is crystal clear. I also had an issue with the tile work and Greg sent a mason over to repair the tile work. Very happy with the service that I have received, Greg has been very helpful and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a quality pool service company. read more

Great pool company. We have had several over the past 11 years and A Clear Choice is certified to repair our salt system. Opening was the best ever, the crew brought chemicals and added salt, most companies just remove the cover, take out a few leaves and are gone, an hour of work costing us $500.00...A Clear Choice did a very thorough job and made sure everything was working before leaving. Greg is nice enough (if you can get him to return your calls) but quality of the work is not that great and you can't get them to come back and fix the mistakes or even return your calls. Last year I had the coping on the pool removed and reset. First they put it back wrong and said they knew what they were doing and had done it right. I had to pull some old pictures of how it looked before to prove they did it incorrectly. Which since I hadn't yet paid they fixed.The coping came loose and they promised to fix it this spring but again not returned calls - nothing. A few years prior they installed the rubber seal between the concrete patio and coping - it immediately bubbled and again they promised to fix it but never have (thankfully it bubbled so fast that I hadn't yet paid). read more

Beyond disappointed! They never return calls or reply to emails at a timely fashion. My pool was left uncovered and untreated for almost a month! They finally came out and turned on my pump... That's it! No cleaning or treatments. My uncle had to come out and clean the system so my pump would not burn up. I spoke with them and expressed my concerns. The next day the man shocked the pool (with my chemicals)... The water was cloudy and still no vacuuming or skimming! The next day, the man was here for 15 mins... Put a few chemicals and left! My pool is full of debris and algae! My uncle and I had to do the skimming and algae treatment. I have my niece and nephew over and they can't swim! I've left several messages and nobody has returned my call! Why hasn't my pool been vacuumed?! Why hasn't the appropriate chemicals and treatment been used?! I have plenty of pictures!
