I requested an estimate for the installation of an EV charger. Unlike other electricians, AirPlus…read morerequired a $185 fee in order to provide the estimate. When I pressed them on this, they said that the $185 would be deducted from the final bill *in the event that I chose them.* Of course, this would put me as a customer in an awkward position; they could give me a much higher estimate than others, and effectively strong-arm me into accepting because I've already spend $185. I've worked with many electricians and other contractors, and I have never seen this before. AirPlus may have a good reason for doing this, but it seems shady and precarious to me. For this reason alone, I decided not to work with them. If you're considering working with AirPlus, I strongly recommend getting other estimates, as well. Not only *might* you save money on the actual work, but you most assuredly *will* save money by not having to pay for an estimate upfront.

HVAC Upgrade- Out with the old, in with the new I want to…read moregive a shout out to Mark Danihel of Gemini Construction who recently did a complete upgrade of our HVAC unit. The previous unit was a dinosaur (approx. 22 years) and had multiple problems like overheating, not heating the house entirely, high energy cost, noisy, difficult to change the filters, scary, etc. Mark did a custom installation of our entire system, and a custom overview/repair/installation of our duct work, floor vents, and filters to match our home square footage and energy needs. He also did a thorough evaluation of our brand new heating and air conditioning unit to make sure it was working properly on both cold and hot days. Although Mark specializes in bathroom remodels and other home repairs, he is also a Master Heating, Ventilation and A/C Specialist. He would be a great person to do a thorough checkout of your A/C system before it becomes an emergency on the hot summer days ahead! Please consider Mark for your HVAC needs and support a Laurel small business owner! He is reliable, thorough, and his integrity shows in his quality of work.

If, for any reason, a job is beyond his scope, he is completely upfront about it. Even if a repair takes more than a day, Mark will keep you updated on his availability and any parts that are on order. I would not hesitate to call or contact Mark for any of your HVAC needs. He absolutely deserves a full 5 stars.

I called BMcCall plumbing to do what I couldn't get done on my own. Believe me I tried!…read more It was a bathroom vanity drain. I bought a new bathroom vanity and the faucet and drain set to go with it to update my bath in my older Clinton home. According to youtube, this a fairly simple install and anyone should be able to do it if they want to save a plumber's fees. Everything installed fairly easily except I couldn't get it to stop leaking where the drain meets the sink area. After numerous visits to Clinton Hardware and lots of great advice from the sales persons there and the purchase of new fittings, it still leaked!!! Frustration! Clinton Hardware said call B McCall. Having lived in this area a long time, it's not the first time I've called or used this company. I've always gotten great service! The technician/plumber was there shortly and put it together as I did and it still leaked! That made me feel better. But, the difference was, he then used his skill and knowledge to make it stop leaking and saved the day! Thank you to B McCall Plumbing! And also to Clinton Hardware who cheerfully refunded the parts I no longer needed!
