Please do yourself a favor and call someone else. Unfortunately I had to deal with them because of my home warranty company. They don't answer the phones, and when they do they sound like you woke them up from a nap (groggy, disoriented). They then get why you're calling wrong after having to contact them multiple times for the same job. I've received notice they were scheduled to come, and they didn't. Today they did come, at 4:30pm (2-6p window), and the plumbers were ORDERED TO LEAVE by the owner after 40 minutes saying we should have had the entire block of townhomes fully drained before they got there (reminder, we didn't know when they'd show up, if they'd actually show up this time, and this shut off effected 10 townhomes). This was not what I was told. I was asked to shut off the main when they called, which I did. The water was literally at a TRICLE at this point. I asked them to have the owner call me, but she refused. I'm working with my home warranty to see if they can get an emergency plumber here to do the repair, but I've told them never ever send this ridiculously unprofessional company here again, and told them they should remove them from their list of vendors. read more

I've used E&S plumbing multiple times for several issues and they have been great each time. The main plumber and I believe business owner is Eddie and he usually has a helper with him. Eddie is very personable and easy to talk to. He is a straight shooter and tells it like it is...giving you an honest assessment of the problem without over charging or telling you to fix things that don't need to be fixed. The jobs I have used him for are: Once to install a dual valve under the sink to connect up a dishwasher, once to snake a drain and install a garbage disposal, and another time to fix a low water pressure shower head. For the shower head issue I thought it was going to be a larger issue but the shower head itself just ended up being clogged. Eddie charged me a nominal fee to fix the shower head since the it was an easy fix. I would recommend Eddie and E&S plumbing for their work quality and fair pricing. For those people complaining about no responses it is a small operation so the response may not be as quick as a giant plumbing operation. I have never found it to be an issue and I feel I have received higher quality service with E&S than I would with a giant plumbing company. read more

Had a straightforward job- replacing kitchen faucet- called and scheduled for a Friday afternoon. On that Friday, nobody showed up or called to notify they needed to reschedule. The next day, a guy randomly calls and says he's on the way to the job. I was glad for the follow-up but it was just lucky that I happened to be home on that day at that time. Second time I called- another straightforward job (bathroom faucet leak)- scheduled for Friday afternoon between 2-6 pm. No call, no show again....it's now Tuesday and still nobody has returned my voicemail message from Friday afternoon asking them to confirm they would be there, as scheduled. I took off from work to wait for them on both occasions - incredibly frustrating not to even get a phone call or acknowledgment of any kind. E & S Plumbing came out for a warranty request to replace the expansion tank for my water heater. He had to actually cut out a few pipes to get to the old expansion tank and refit the new one. The quality of work was great and they also cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. One thing to note, when you call in, customer service does not exist by the lady who answers the phone. Let's just say that Eddie saved the day despite HMS Warranty's best efforts to ruin it. I had a claim placed with HMS on June 25, 2018 to service my water heater and they sent the WORST contractor ever, who not only mocked me, but also left a valve open on the unit when he left, resulting in a flood of my apartment. After days of arguing with them, I requested another opinion from a different contractor, and they gave me several options. Almost all were 1-2 stars at best, and then there was Eddie. He had over 23 5-star reviews, and it's no wonder why. He's professional, thorough, and goes above and beyond to help his clients, even if HMS is trying to slow the process down. He wrote a report to them on July 10, but didn't approve the unit replacement price until the 24th. Luckily, he made an effort to pick that unit up same day in VA and drive all the way back to DC to replace it. Above and beyond. I appreciate his service and will go straight to him in the future. I called my warranty company and they unfortunately connected me with E&S. E&S came to my home, said they needed time to write an estimate and hasn't called me back since, but my warranty said I'd have to pay $900. I've called E&S to ask them to explain what they found. I called no fewer than 4 times with no success. Unfortunately, the warranty company wouldn't switch to a competent provider so E&S slowed down my repair. I discovered a slow leak that had been happening under my basement sink for a while before I realized it had been leaking. After having reached out to several plumbers with good reviews on Yelp. E&S Plumbing were the only company who were available and/or not providing $100+ estimates just to come out and look at the problem. Eddion said that they would be to my home between 8-10 on the next Monday but due to an emergency leak somewhere else they couldn't get to my house until after 11:00am but they arrived when they said they would at that point and apologized for being later than expected. The fix was to replace the valve under the sink because tightening it wouldn't work. Overall their fix has worked, they were friendly and professional. The thing is, the water heater was located up in a tiny attic in an old garden-style Condo building. The only way up is a ladder and a small opening in the ceiling.
