There was no warranty on the work and I was told yesterday that the metal was too thin to weld and hold without an additional $300-$500 of work. It's unfortunate that I was not told this the first time when I paid $300 for the gate to be welded. I would recommend that you secure a warranty before proceeding with this vendor as I am now out $300 and still have to pay for my gate to be fixed elsewhere, as I do not feel comfortable investing another $300 after the first fix failed in 2.5 months. I was not offered a free fix, or a partial refund, so proceed with caution/a confirmed warranty. I can say that we're friendly, timely and competitively priced- hence the 2.5 stars.

Our garage drain - a catch basin design - had been a source of annoyance for some years since it…read morehas a nonstandard opening that won't accept a standard 12x12" cover grate. (We are over by and inch or two in each dimension.) The previous homeowner had covered it with a large sheet of braced wood that hogged floor space and didn't look great. Seeking a proper drain grate, some googling led me to a few companies that make metal grating. One, in texas I think, gave me a quote for some obscene amount to do it in stainless steel. But Grating Pacific gave me a phone call right away in response to my online query. In just a few minutes of talking, Dave figured out that, given my cost constraints and timing, carbon steel would work if I properly prepared it for long term use by thorough prep and painting. He took measurements verbally and by inspecting the photos I sent and put together a quote and a proposal to send me two copies - $125 plus tax - which I thought was plenty fair. They arrived from Tracy, CA in a few days. And they were things of beauty. Perfect fit, strong enough, good looking. I prepped and painted them as shown in the photos and have fitted one to the drain already. Not sure I'll need more grating soon but if so, Dave, you're my first call.
