I didn't want to take a chance on being unable to get a ride to the airport by requesting the morning I needed to leave so I called Thunderbird the day before and made arrangements for pickup. My driver called when he was enroute, and again when he arrived 10 minutes early. Trip was as smooth as could be and he kept me entertained with stories about the Pensacola area. Would not hesitate to recommend, especially to those staying on base!

I called 4 hours in advance and made reservations with Mark Stettner, owner of Thunderbird Taxi,…read moreagain 2 hours out before boarding on my connecting flight, and provided my flight number and time of arrival. With all the provided information Thunderbird Taxi managed to arrive before my flight landed and pick up the wrong person. I discovered this when I landed and saw text messages from the driver informing me that they were at the airport waiting for me (well in advance before my landing). How could they expect me to answer the text message if I was still in flight???? Nevertheless, Thunderbird drove off with someone else stating it was because I didn't respond to the text message sent. I called the company back and 45 mins later Mark arrived. He was not wearing any type of face covering. Mark said he didn't believe in Covid and insisted on shaking hands. His appearance was sloppy and he smelled like cigarettes. Mark insisted I sit in the front passenger seat next to him, but I declined. The cab was dirty and also smelled of cigarette smoke. Mark began expressing his political views and scrolling through his cell phone to show me pictures of hurricane damage while the cab was in motion (scary and illegal). Thankfully we made it to our final destination safe and sound. At the height of a pandemic, it is mind-blowing for a cab company/owner to insist on shaking hands, not wearing a mask, and having a filthy cab. Message to the lodging facility (you know who you are) please do us all a favor and please stop recommending Thunderbird Taxi!
