We took our vintage car out for its first test drive and really needed to fill the tires. The gas station tire compressor was not working so we took it over to A+ and they helped us right away. They were all super kind and helpful and we really appreciate it. Braden Let us know how to clean the car And Maliki and Jaylen (sorry for the spelling) were helpful in filling the tires. Thank you guys!! read more

I've been going here for six years, but they've gone downhill over the last couple of those. I used to take my old truck in and get it fixed quickly with great communication and a reasonable price. Over time, it started to get worse, but I just figured prices are going up on everything and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I don't know what or who has changed abut this place, but I will no longer go there. My last interaction with them was pretty rough and it's the first time in 25 years of owning vehicles that I really felt like I got scammed. I had approved some work that turned out to be totally unnecessary and way overpriced. When the fees kept adding up, I got wise and started calling them out. Parts that were marked up by 500% of what I could find online (from a reputable site) they chalked up to being because they warranty their parts and if I wanted to buy my own, they would install them without the warranty. Well that option was never presented to me beforehand. They had another repair I wanted them to take care of which they wanted $800 for including parts and labor. I had it done elsewhere for $212. I picked up the truck unfinished and paid my bill to the tune of $1200, which they discounted after I called them out on their BS by a couple hundred dollars. This used to be a great shop until something went wrong here and it's really unfortunate. I will no longer be using them as my go to mechanic nor will I be recommending them anymore. read more

A+ Auto Service - Lobby - Tires Near Me - Charleston, South Carolina

We utilize A+ Auto to manage all of our fleet needs. They are always able to help and take care of us.

Price was a bit much for what I got quoted around town but everyone was booked a week out. $150 for labor just for front brakes, another $150 for the back. Not including the parts which was NOT replacing the rotors, only replacing pads. Asked for balance and rotation, after checking the PSI before and after the service they did not rotate, only balanced. Plus a charge for not paying in cash. Overall I think they could do better price wise and actually fulfilling the requested services. read more

My mom bought a used car that we had A+ look over for us before she bought it. There were a few minor items that needed to get cleaned up so after the sale she brought it back to A+ for the repairs. It's nice to know I can send my 80 year old mother there and know she will be treated well and fair, thanks A+!! read more

These guys are awesome! I was traveling from GA to Charleston and noticed a knocking sound coming from my car. Also, had an oil leak that I was not aware of. Jamie was awesome and got my car in the next morning. He kept me updated and they got my car back on the road. They were honest and helpfuI and I would recommend A+ in Charleston to anyone! read more

Very disappointing. I definitely DO NOT recommend. I took my car there on Sept 13th for a diagnosis and repair, and just got it back today with no repairs done. My car was with them for a 10 DAYS and they did not reach out to me once. Communication was TERRIBLE. The staff seemed extremely nonchalant about fixing my car. After 7 days of my car being in there possession, I called and they had NO updates for me. They charge $125 for diagnosis, and yet they did not diagnose the problem or fix it. BUT they definitely kept my money and wasted my time. read more

The techs were very knowledgeable and the folks behind the counters were very friendly.

I had problems with my abs light and traction light staying on, I took my car some where to have the brakes check and they were fine but they couldn't tell me what the problem was, so my daughter told me about A+ I call them and told them what was going on we set up an appointment I have my car back it's running good. The customer service was great, I will recommend them to everyone. Thanks A+ read more

Gabe has an incredible team of people that make it the best experience you will every have at an auto repair shop!

They were compassionate about my issue and kept me informed and were honest every step of the way.

Our Nissan Altima had transmissions problems, the code diagnostic would say there was an issue with the step motor. Every shop wanted to install a new transmission at a cost higher than the vehicle value. A+ was the only place that was up to the challenge of repairing our transmission, needless to say that it worked and at a fraction of the cost of getting a new one. read more

Service was good and Jamie was helpful. I feel I was charged a little unfairly. I definitely know I over payed for what was done. The markup they charged me on parts was just shy of 100%. Probably won't be back just due to cost. read more

I am new to the area (for college) and chose A+ Auto entirely based off the reviews online. I am so glad that we went with A+. They we're so fast with the repair, maintained incredible communication with both me and my father, and did a wonderful job with diagnosing and fixing the problem. I really loved the text message updates and the complete car inspection report that came directly to my phone. 100% would recommend to anyone needing a repair to their car. Honest, good people. We worked with Jamie almost exclusively and he was so kind and open about the problem, the cost, and other potential issues and really made me feel in the loop as a college girl that knows nothing about cars. Thank you, A+ Auto! read more

Great service! Very thorough and reliable... shop to go for all your needs!Professional and friendly!

I had an Antifreeze leak in my turbo diesel Volkswagen Passat. I have a warranty coverage program so I was referred to A+ Auto Service as a preferred service center. The work was not covered under the warranty but needed to be done so I approved the repair. Here it is 3 weeks later and I am having the very same problem. Things happen that I know but when the problem was diagnosed and the price was set, I did not complain or gripe about it. However I am currently spending a day waiting on another diagnosis. I had intended on leaving town for Thanksgiving and would have been in a situation...... read more

They are a great bunch of people and done a great job on my truck and I will be coming back when I need any more repairs to any of my cars

They did good work for the most part but they didn't notice my caliper was bad until after I drive 2 hours to pick it up. The rear end had been disassembled for several days already. Also, they did a transmission service and upon reinstalling the pan, blue permatex sealant was used. You're not supposed to used sealant on the transmission pan. In doing so, it started blowing out fluid in the first couple hundred miles. Luckily a transmission shop I carried it to found it. I wouldn't have believed any mechanic would use sealant on the pan if I hadn't seen it for myself. read more

I was traveling from Atlanta and my serpentine belt broke on I-26 on Sunday evening. Looked up auto repair online and came upon A1. I had my car towed there and left my key in the night box. My angel was watching over me! They are THE BEST! Jamie called me first thing Monday morning and kept me updated on the repairs and cost. He knew I was from out of town and didn't have many options...didn't deter him from doing the right thing! He had me back up and running that day. I went to pick my car up and he opened the door for me with my name! The whole staff are friendly, competent, fun.....and did I mention..... they're ADORABLE!!!! Thanks a million! read more

The best auto shop in Charleston hands down. When it comes to working on my vehicle they do an excellent job while also beating other auto shops prices. Their pre inspection on vehicles is also a life saver. Just got a vehicle inspected and they found about 4,000 dollars worth of repairs that needed to be done or in the near future. They also print out the work they did and break everything down that they did and future work that may need attention. I know these guys are doing a great job when surrounding auto salesman hate to get their vehicles inspected here. Overall a fantastic and transparent experience. read more

Clutch started going out on my 2000 Nissan Frontier. Gabe and team replaced it within a few days and its been riding great since. At my request, they also replaced the brakes and rotors on my truck. They provided a free loaner vehicle during the days my truck was in the shop. This saved me having to go through my insurance to get a rental. All this for $1200? Pretty good value, I'd say. I've already been back with my fiance's vehicle and recommend them to anyone at my work. read more

All my car needed was a water pump. They broke my radiator and had to replace 3 radiators to fix what they broke, and damaged my transmission lines causing them to leak when I had no transmission line leak prior to them working on my car. I have had to take my car back 7! times for them to fix things they keep braking. I have paid $4000 in the last 4 months for a routine brake job they had to do over, a water pump, and a radiator they broke. These people a common thieves not mechanics. read more

They were terrific to work with and extremely honest and thoughtful. I would definitely use them again and recommend them strongly

I had an appointment left my car there for a week for an oil pan gasket change. Cost $600 when they gave it back to me I had a Miss on number 6 cylinder which was confirmed by their man after they brought it to me but they wouldn't look at it because I didn't have an appointment anymore I would have to wait till next week and have it looked at and more diagnostics they said they steam cleaned my engine so that they could clean they could change the oil gasket well that's why I found water underneath my coil when I got home change the coil out it was good but they wouldn't pay for the part cuz it they didn't change it and it wasn't under warranty even though they were the ones that sprayed the steam up under there and got water under it. I also drove out with a ABS light and a traction control off light that I didn't have before I came in. So you fix the leak and left me with three other problems I give them no stars. read more
