I've been going here for six years, but they've gone downhill over the last couple of those. I used to take my old truck in and get it fixed quickly with great communication and a reasonable price. Over time, it started to get worse, but I just figured prices are going up on everything and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I don't know what or who has changed abut this place, but I will no longer go there. My last interaction with them was pretty rough and it's the first time in 25 years of owning vehicles that I really felt like I got scammed. I had approved some work that turned out to be totally unnecessary and way overpriced. When the fees kept adding up, I got wise and started calling them out. Parts that were marked up by 500% of what I could find online (from a reputable site) they chalked up to being because they warranty their parts and if I wanted to buy my own, they would install them without the warranty. Well that option was never presented to me beforehand. They had another repair I wanted them to take care of which they wanted $800 for including parts and labor. I had it done elsewhere for $212. I picked up the truck unfinished and paid my bill to the tune of $1200, which they discounted after I called them out on their BS by a couple hundred dollars. This used to be a great shop until something went wrong here and it's really unfortunate. I will no longer be using them as my go to mechanic nor will I be recommending them anymore. read more

Price was a bit much for what I got quoted around town but everyone was booked a week out. $150 for labor just for front brakes, another $150 for the back. Not including the parts which was NOT replacing the rotors, only replacing pads. Asked for balance and rotation, after checking the PSI before and after the service they did not rotate, only balanced. Plus a charge for not paying in cash. Overall I think they could do better price wise and actually fulfilling the requested services. read more

Very disappointing. I definitely DO NOT recommend. I took my car there on Sept 13th for a diagnosis and repair, and just got it back today with no repairs done. My car was with them for a 10 DAYS and they did not reach out to me once. Communication was TERRIBLE. The staff seemed extremely nonchalant about fixing my car. After 7 days of my car being in there possession, I called and they had NO updates for me. They charge $125 for diagnosis, and yet they did not diagnose the problem or fix it. Our Nissan Altima had transmissions problems, the code diagnostic would say there was an issue with the step motor. Every shop wanted to install a new transmission at a cost higher than the vehicle value. A+ was the only place that was up to the challenge of repairing our transmission, needless to say that it worked and at a fraction of the cost of getting a new one. read more

They did good work for the most part but they didn't notice my caliper was bad until after I drive 2 hours to pick it up. The rear end had been disassembled for several days already. Also, they did a transmission service and upon reinstalling the pan, blue permatex sealant was used. You're not supposed to used sealant on the transmission pan. In doing so, it started blowing out fluid in the first couple hundred miles. Luckily a transmission shop I carried it to found it. I wouldn't have believed any mechanic would use sealant on the pan if I hadn't seen it for myself. read more

I was traveling from Atlanta and my serpentine belt broke on I-26 on Sunday evening. Looked up auto repair online and came upon A1. I had my car towed there and left my key in the night box. The best auto shop in Charleston hands down. When it comes to working on my vehicle they do an excellent job while also beating other auto shops prices. Their pre inspection on vehicles is also a life saver. Just got a vehicle inspected and they found about 4,000 dollars worth of repairs that needed to be done or in the near future. They also print out the work they did and break everything down that they did and future work that may need attention. I know these guys are doing a great job when surrounding auto salesman hate to get their vehicles inspected here. Overall a fantastic and transparent experience. read more

I had an appointment left my car there for a week for an oil pan gasket change. Cost $600 when they gave it back to me I had a Miss on number 6 cylinder which was confirmed by their man after they brought it to me but they wouldn't look at it because I didn't have an appointment anymore I would have to wait till next week and have it looked at and more diagnostics they said they steam cleaned my engine so that they could clean they could change the oil gasket well that's why I found water underneath my coil when I got home change the coil out it was good but they wouldn't pay for the part cuz it they didn't change it and it wasn't under warranty even though they were the ones that sprayed the steam up under there and got water under it. I also drove out with a ABS light and a traction control off light that I didn't have before I came in. So you fix the leak and left me with three other problems I give them no stars. read more

They broke my radiator and had to replace 3 radiators to fix what they broke, and damaged my transmission lines causing them to leak when I had no transmission line leak prior to them working on my car. I have had to take my car back 7! times for them to fix things they keep braking. I have paid $4000 in the last 4 months for a routine brake job they had to do over, a water pump, and a radiator they broke. These people a common thieves not mechanics. read more
