There's plenty of mall parking in the area. The restaurant also has a drive thru if you just want to drive by. Plenty of comfortable booth and table seats inside and out. I grabbed a double steak burger, melt, fries and onion rings. Burger was juicy. Great flavor. Melt was delicious. A good alternative if you want to try something different. The fries were really good. Shoestring , crispy and fresh. Onion rings were good. I'll be ordering one of each everyone to balance out the meal. They're both good choices. Next time will check out the amazing frozen custard. I was just too full this time around. Both combos came out to about 35 bucks. Pricey yes. Food was great but it would be just a once in a while visit for me.

Freddy's is the newest joint that has joined the party here, and I finally tried here after the hype has died down and there's no lineup outside the restaurant. Freddy's is known for their steakburgers and their frozen custard. In my opinion, the frozen custard was better than their steakburgers. Their patties are paper thin to the point where you're eating a burger with a wide, thin patty in the middle. Some people might like that, I'm not crazy over it. Their custards, on the other hand, were quite good, particularly their Orange Freddy's Frost. I don't see myself coming here often. Perhaps if a friend wants to try this place I'll revisit here.

I don't really give out 5 stars that often but this place really deserves it. I am still shocked and amazed at how good their burger is! I ordered the cheeseburger ($5) - kinda pricey compared to VJ's. But Mrs. Mike's burgers are bigger comparatively speaking. The cheeseburger is on a sesame bun, probably the size of a whopper. The patty is just slightly bigger than the bun and cooked with a slight crisp on the outside but still juicy inside - I love that! The flavour of the beef patty is perfectly seasoned and balances so well with the cheese, pickle, chili, onion and mustard. They don't put too much chili on their burgers so it's not as messy to eat but you still get the chili flavour. Of course I had to order their fries ($3). Now I'm torn on their fries because I was expecting the type of home cut fries (with the skin on) like at VJs but the ones here look and taste like McDonald's fries (although they taste a bit better than McDs). They have a king burger (which I'm curious to what in includes), no fat boy but maybe the king burger is their version of one??? They also serve chili fries, milkshakes, and chicken fingers. The food was well cooked and very good, it has not changed since I was last in a McD's. In other words, they are known for consistancy. I dined in and ordered at a kiosk mainly because ALL of the staff were Asian and none of them had a good grasp of the English language. I'm not being racist, I'm calling it the way I see it. I stood behind someone before going to the kiosk and he had to repeat his order 5x for them to understand AND it took 3 McD's staff standing there to try to understand him! I placed my order without issues, walked over to the pickup counter and it was ready in about 4 minutes. That was very efficient although I also got caught in the language barrier. First there were four staff very close to the counter and they all ignored me. Eventually I had to call out loudly for assistance. A manager came over and I said that the kiosk app did not allow me to order extra onion, could they do that? I had to repeat myself twice. He said that could be done. Before he came over he was speaking an Indian language to all of the back staff and when he finished with me he went back to that language. I have no issues with other languages, however, it's not one of Canada's official languages. I really don't understand why they must communicate in their own language AND why they must speak so fast and loud. Anyway, service was fast, food was good, the restaurant was very clean and a young man was mopping the floors when I was there. I even found a clean table which seems to be rare for most fast food restaurants. I would go back to this McD's, although not often only because it's not really on my list of favorite places overall. SIDEBAR: Isn't it hillarious all of the one star reviews here that the reviewers only have 1 review? In other words, they only review this McD's. All of these one star reviews are hack jobs to discredit this store, but of course, Yelp doesn't see it, their algorithms and AI don't see it. Go figure. When is Yelp going to REMOVE the one review hack reviews AND more important why do they continue to have an average score based on scores from when the business was first listed. Once I was checked in to my hotel room and had settled in, I did a search for a McDonald's in Steinbach and found this one. I was curious and decided to order the same Diet Coke for pickup through the app. It said that all fountain drinks were unavailable. Huh? Perhaps maintenance was scheduled on the machines. I'm glad that I took the chance and got my drinks at a different McDonald's. During my stay in Steinbach, I did visit this restaurant twice. Both times were through the drive-thru. I first got a medium iced oat coffee through the McDonald's app. It was $1. I liked changing things up, as I'm not a regular coffee drinker. However, I do enjoy iced coffee, especially when I can get oat beverage in it. I fetched my drink in the morning before heading into Winnipeg. I got a nice woman at the drive-thru. I provided my order code. She found it and said that I could proceed to the next window. She was cheerful. She gave me my drink. I thanked her and continued westbound. I loved my iced coffee. It was cold. It's wasn't too sweet. It was enjoyable to sip during my drive. On my second visit, I got a large Diet Coke. I also ordered it through the app, but was heading back to the hotel after a nice day in Winnipeg. I got a different female staffer. She was nice. It was the same drill. I gave her my order code.
