an english muffin sandwich in a wrapper
    Sunny C.

Tried this since it was one of the only food spots open at the airport that wasn't available in the US. While waiting for our flight back to JFK, we got burgers, poutine, and a breakfast sandwich. Everything was surprisingly not salty. I had never tried A&W before. Besides for the airport prices, and long line, everything else about the experience was good.

The All Canadian breakfast is a dollar more than the one in Pearson and they serve it on a cardboard plate and with plastic utensils versus a real plate and real utensils in Toronto. Actually that really doesn't bother me at all, just saying. What I find hilarious is the same menu is in French on the left but the prices are higher on the French menu than on the English menu on the right. This is still a decent and affordable place to eat for the money and it's before security.

This location is at the domestic terminal food court. In my opinion, A&W is better than MacD. And this location makes good onion rings. What more can one ask for?

Toooooo much gravy and tooooo salty

Came here after a concert & was not disappointed!…read more PS I just started eating red meat about 2 months ago. What drew me was the potato onion bun. What kept me as a now repeat customer is self-serve ketchup, mustard etc, and the burger comes with a very sad 1/8 slice of pickle. But it's dill pickle so a little grace. Give bigger pickles!!! For me, I abhor any "house sauce" on burgers bc it's either 1000 island or chipotle mayo. Nope! I want my burger classic w ketchup, mustard, pickle. Bonus if I get lettuce & tomato. Well, they give you baby butter lettuce & tomato as well as "Rock sauce" (nope) and raw onion (nope). The burger was really thick: I'm guessing 1/3lb. It was made to order & took a LOOOONG time bc my friend ordered bacon on her burger (bacon takes a long time to crisp up on a flattop). But kudos on making everything to order! They give you a "side of fries" which was too much for me to eat, but equivalent to a fast food small. The bonus is skin on fries!!! Plus the condiment tower has ketchup, mustard, Asian hot sauce (NOTE: we need western hot sauce: I recommend Tapatio), malt vinegar, regular vinegar, Wing's plum sauce (IYKYK), and soy sauce. I didn't snap a pic as I was starving, but know it was delicious & filling. Delicious bc I cut up my pickle & put it in the burger...I don't know why so many burger places don't understand the savoury/tangy contrast of beef & dill pickles & why it's necessary (along with mustard to give savoury & tang, but then the sweetness of ketchup. It's simple & classic!) ...but I'm SOOO happy they had mustard packets!!! I went through 7 on my burger & fries (no ketchup on fries, only mustard!). I'm giving 5/5 bc burger was made-to-order (tho they should have asked how well you liked it cooked). There are a few missteps, but I think the quality was there. Yes, I had to custom it using the condiment tower, but that does not take away from trying this place! Come for the burger, stay for the gaming! LOL

Here, the menu unsurprisingly focuses on Japanese-style hot dogs featuring ambitious toppings like nori, bonito flakes, and even yakisoba. Founder Noriki Tamura brought his first food cart to Downtown Vancouver back in 2005, and Japadog has since expanded to countless locations across Metro Vancouver (as well as a cart on the Santa Monica Pier). Over the years, Japadog has garnered award after award, as well as hosted many a famous customer (from Anthony Bourdain to Ice Cube). We spent our final meal in Vancouver at Japadog's airport-adjacent outpost within the McArthurGlen Designer Outlets. All of the shops at this outdoor shopping mall are consistently buzzing, and this indoor, table-equipped Japadog location is no exception. The color palette sports a muted black-and-white with occasional pops of red. Warm lighting is focused on the expanded menu (which, here, even includes alcoholic beverages and ice cream desserts), stretching nearly the entire width of the restaurant above the ordering counter. The whitewashed walls are decorated sparingly with framed accomplishments and large posters of Japadog's most popular items. Black plastic chairs are pressed up to plenty of worn wooden tables, but securing a seat still can be a dice roll. Pop music blends with sizzle from the kitchen and chatter across countless different languages. Across multiple visits, my partner and I had the opportunity to sample many of Japadog's greatest hits and beyond. Of the topping combinations, our favorite was the signature Terimayo, featuring a sweet-and-savory combination of sauces to glue the salty fried onions and seaweed onto the dog. The Okonomi dog (inspired by okonomiyaki, Japanese savory pancakes) was decked with a sweet Worcestershire-based sauce, fried cabbage, and bonito flakes, culminating in a stronger but less dynamjc flavor than the aforementioned Terimayo. Lastly, the Yakisoba featured noodles that created more mess than flavor, but the salty pickled radish felt uniquely complimentary to the hot dogs. The franks were half-sliced to facilitate bites and maximize surface ares, and the buns were lightly grilled to a sturdy texture. Between the two different franks, we were most impressed by the juicy and flavor-packed Kurobuta pork hot dogs. In constrast, the slightly larger Wagyu beef dogs reminded me of a sophisticated ballpark frank, but I didn't think they were worth the premium. Meanwhile, the knuckle-sized Wagyu Menchikatsu was a deep-fried meatball of sorts that felt wholly awkward to manage on a hot dog bun. For sides, we very much enjoyed the Butter & Shoyu Shaken Fries. These extra-crispy shoestring-style fries were definitely elevated by the well-distributed seasoning. In contrast, skip the Meat & Cheese Poutine, which sported a one-note gravy, boring ground beef, and melted deli cheese. Of desserts, I most enjoyed the Age Ice with Black Sesame. The donut component was rich and crispy, while the ice cream was pleasantly sesame-y without going overboard sweet -- just be prepared to down it before the bread get soggy. The Omatcha Parfait fetured a sweet matcha ice cream and a less exciting vanilla scoop, both of which were which were enhanced by the many other textures of corn flakes, mochi balls, and jellies -- few places offer such a unique dessert in fast-food form. Lastly, the intensely tart Yuzu Japanade was a worthy beverage, delivering on its promise of a strong yuzu flavor. Service was efficient and professional, and all of the food was made-to-order. Prices range widely, but expect the Kurobuta hot dogs to cost about $7, while the Wagyu varieties are priced upward of $10. At these prices, Japadog admittedly feel more expensive that a standard fast food meal, and I wouldn't expect to ever fit it into my routine. But the best items on the menu are worth an occasional splurge, and Japadog certainly warrants a visit if just for the shear novelty.

They've added some items on the menu that I didn't see from the last time I was here. They have vegan options as well. Food: I ordered a two piece combo with one spicy and one original. Im not a fried chicken kinda guy, so, just take it as a grain of salt, but weren't bad. They were very crispy. The combo came with a side, a biscuit, and a bottle of drink. The biscuit had sweet crispy glaze on it, which was unexpected. I liked that they have bottled drinks, not a soda fountain. FOOD So it's fast food, but it's not cheap fast food. It's White Spot burgers and so it's going to be expensive. But, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, they feature a burger for only $5.99. On this Tuesday, I ordered the Original Burger which is a Burger King Whopper-sized burger with fresh leaves of iceberg lettuce and tomatoes, a slice of pickle and plenty of mayo. I added mushrooms to make it my own Monty Mushroom burger and that was $1.50 extra. You can make it a combo by adding $5.49 (interesting price, right?!) and you get White Spot's signature Kennebec potato fries - not endless like in White Spot but still tasty! I upgraded to poutine for $3.05 and while it's not Montreal poutine, it was decent: the gravy was good and here they serve large cheese curds. === 3.
