20 minutes for a wait behind two cars with small orders is no good, and looking at reviews seems to be a normal issue. Wow, almost perfect place to refuel after golfing 9 holes :) staff was chill and food was pretty quick, they have some big steppers working there which is always great. The food was amazing especially the fries and the root beer, I didn't know A&W fries were like that. As you can see my golfing partner was delighted to eat his double papa burger. I've been here numerous times, every single time at the drive-through even when I'm the only customer, it takes AT LEAST 30 minutes, and the food is never "fresh" as claimed. The management is horrible. I just went today, and they can't even talk to customers right. How embarrassing they have no respect whatsoever. read more

Was charged for a double papa burger, received a single, told the cashier Alexis, who said she'd take care of it. We finished eating our meal and asked again how it would be taken care of. The 'General manager' who claimed she was here on her day off, told us that more than 30 minutes had passed so we were out of luck. Recently stopped again and "I ordered the fish sandwich." again. This was not the same as our last order. Unbeknownst to me, A&W has 2 fish sandwiches. We were served the 2-for-1 deal called surf and turf. Turns out this is a cod(Haddock)/ sandwich with lettuce, tarter sauce, and cheese. I never knew A&W had 2 different fish sandwiches, The sandwich I just described and the I guess new BIG 1/4 Lb Fish sandwich, I mentioned this to Patty the server and she enlightened me. The fish sandwiches we had were good, hot, and very tasty. Due to a misunderstanding, I didn't realize that I needed to order the Big Fish Sandwich. But Patty the server and Drew the cook treated me and my wife with GREAT Service. I can't say enough about this establishment. They have gone way beyond normal Customer service. I had the most horrid experience at this Appleton location. First, it took a long time before my drive thru order was taken. Second, my Double Mushroom Onion Melt Burger was barely warm. Third, there were no onion at all on the burger. Fourth, there were 2 or 3 mushrooms that looked as if they were from a can. Fifth, there was a tiny piece of some tasteless white cheese between two burgers. Sixth, the burger was dry. At least the root beer was good (too much ice jammed in the cup) and the fries the cold. If I hadn't been in a hurry, I would have marched back in a demanded my money back. read more

Went through the drive through, ordered 1 regular hot dog with just ketchup. No dink or sides. I was the only customer in line. I waited 13 minutes. I pulled into the Walmart parking and parked to eat. The hotdog was so overcooked it was dry. I will never eat there again. The app won't let me rate less than 1 star. read more

Stopped here on our way through town. Reminded me of when I was a kid going to the drive in by my old house back in the day. The place is very narrow inside but feels so nostalgic. We ordered at the counter, went and sat down. Not 5 minutes later our food came out hot and fresh, bacon cheeseburger fries, cheese curds and iced mugs with cold root beers. i wish the buns would have been warm but overall was great meal. This place takes you back in time, but in a good way. We stopped by here on a long drive home from an out of town wedding. Normally we would just opt for the drive through option, but we wanted to sit down and eat at a table so we decided to come in. I'm really glad we did! It was a neat set up. You can either order when you walk in at the counter, or go find a seat, browse the menu, then hit the little "call" button on the table and a waiter will come to you and take your order. We ordered a lot of stuff. Burger, fries, chicken tenders, cheese curds, and corn dog bites. The chicken tenders were some of the best tenders I have ever had, not just for fast food. They were super flavorful, juicy and plump, and the breading was really crispy and delicious. The little corn dogs were super yummy too, and the cheese curds were done really well. Basically everything I tried was super good. We grabbed a frozen root beer to go on the way out and man, that was crazy good. It's basically a root beer milkshake, but it was so creamy and just.. perfect! The restaurant in general looks like it could use a little TLC, but no means is it run-down or anything. Just a good freshening up would do the trick. Service was quick and friendly. Check this spot out! read more

The glass cover on the menu board was wide open when I drove up to place an order. The corner of the glass was sticking out into the traffic flow although I could not see the corner from inside my car. Surprisingly the corner of the glass caught on my outside mirror and damaged it. I informed the person at the pick up window when I picked up my order. She said the manager was there and he will come out and talk to me. When he came out he said he was working on the menu and had to leave for a few minutes so he left it open. He looked at the damaged mirror and said to let him know how much the damage is. Well I did that a month ago and have yet to to hear from him. I use to frequent this A&W regularly but now I will never go back! read more

I recently stopped at an A&W as a way to revisit my youth when my father would take our family for a burger and a Black Cow. They have made many improvements since then. For instance they were able to cook the hamburgers to a level of dryness that prevented any chance of the juice seeping over the edge of the bun onto our clothing. Which, as i recall was a concern when i was young. Additionally, there was no need to worry as to the possibility that the burger could be undercooked as they perfected the art of making a burger so thin it appeared to only have one side. My wife asked for fried onions and the restauranteur was kind enough to actually count out two onions, one of them being small and the other little. The same could have been said for the pickle if i could have found them. With that said, anytime I am going to an affair that requires clean clothes, excellent breath and a lingering hunger i will count on this A&W as my go to place. read more

I've been to this location on numerous occasions, as it is only A& W in the area, my question is why can't they make an item on the menu the same, ever?? The "Root beer Freeze", when made correctly, is fantastic!! Its not a shake, its not a float.....its a Freeze! But, that's not what you get. Its either too thin or too thick. This is not a Freeze!! Ive gone back, thru the drive thru, I've called, nothing changes, ever. About to give up. At $3.77 for a regular size drink, they need to start getting it right. Or just take it off the menu! Trying to explain the consistency of this beverage to someone who doesn't know how to make it is frustrating. Its usually too thin and you get another back that is so thick you cant even "drink" it now while driving because you need a spoon! I've had this beverage handed to me in the drive thru in 4 different cup styles, which is the first clue it hasn't been made right, again.......without the correct consistency, it throws the flavor all off. read more

I've been going to this A&W for quite possibly way too long. I've never been completely satisfied and it seems that always something is screwed up with my order. More times then not my burgers or sandwich have been luke warm, my fries cold as if they were sitting out, or more recently when going through the drive through - my order had to be repeated three times twice at the speaker and once at the window - only to not have gotten the ranch I asked for, no napkins in the bag which should be standard for any order through the drive through, and a 10 minute wait for chicken tenders. Sure, I was given coupons and apologized to for the wait. Which I could care less about. But if you still mess up an order after I repeated it three times, that's unacceptable. If you plan on going to this specific location, check your bags and your receipts. read more
