My expectations were sort of low already but it was somehow still under performed. The only pro is that they open later than most things around, so if you're ever in need of a midnight snack they'll still be open. My wife had a Chicken chuby burger and I had the Papa burger? (Kinda interesting names to begin with) but both were incredibly underwhelming. The lettuce in her burger was maybe the saddest piece of lettuce I've seen. And the patties in my burger have to be some of the driest things I've ever eaten. Standards are pretty low for fast food but even this was sort of disappointing. read more

Food is OK but the renovation they did are terrible for the seats are all HARD WOOD SEATS !!! Before renovation the seats where nicely cushions and went from 100% to 5% please bring back cushions on the seats read more

I went to the A&W at 32520 South Fraser Way in Abbotsford bc on March 28th 2025 at 10pm. I ordered a Teen burger & fries. When I got home I noticed the cheese was dried out on the corners and they were curling up but I was so hungry because I hadn't eaten all day that I ate it anyways. I went to bed after eating and throughout the night I had bad craps, diarrhea, nausea and was very lethargic. I slept for 30 hours before I felt normal again. I had gotten food poisoning! I emailed A&W's head office to let them know what happened so they could look into this matter so that it didn't happen to others and I never received an email back. That in my opinion is extremely bad customer service! I am sad to say ( because I did enjoy their burgers)I will never go to another A&W restaurant again!! read more

I have never pulled up to an A&W where the parking lot was packed and if not for one stall left open, I would have had to wait till someone came out and moved their car so I could have a spot. I don't come to Abbotsford often and my brother and I needed some fuel to start our day after dropping my dear at her gig so we came here (it was early!). We walked in, and all the tables were pretty much full, from everyone else sitting around starting there day in A&W style. It was an older crowd, and the place looked a little under-staffed, but these girls who were working here were hustlin to get everyone's food out. I think there must have been some coupon that was passed out, as everyone was having their breakfast special of toast, sunny side up eggs and bacon. I ordered a combo coffee and their sausage and egg bun (so wanted to say McMuffin here.. but it ain't the golden arches). I didn't know they served coffee in a real mug here, and they also serve you food on these retro metal trays. They asked my brother what type of jam he wanted, and we went and found a table, as the line was building up, and the fast food wasn't as fast as the people were ordering they allowed the clients to sit first, and these girls here were serving the customer's by bringing their food to them, and the coffee as well. When's the last time you have seen this happen at a fast food joint? We decided to read one of their free copies of the Province while having breakfast, but they also provide free WiFi as what their door says. The food was well put together, tasted like how I remembered A&W to taste like, and they actually use coffee mugs and the frosted root beer mugs. Ordered via SkipTheDishes. Got the Beyond Meat Burger combo with fries and root beer. The burger was very filling and yummy, but it didn't have the additional chipotle mayo sauce that I had asked for (ergo, the 4 instead of 5 stars). Fries were delicious, but didn't include ketchup. The drink also didn't come with a straw. Next time I order, I'll be adding notes to request for ketchup and a straw. read more

A breakfast stop for us on a recent trip heading to parts East. We scooted off Highway #1 at Abbotsford, to head over to Mission, via Highway #11. Caught breakfast at A&W first. Found it a clean (and apparently recently-renovated) location. We (threesome) ordered a teen burger, plus teen burger combo (which included two burgers, two fries, and two coffees - the latter replacing root beers). The location offered an easy access and parking location, friendly, cordial service at the counter, and the typical decent A&W food preparations (which are, imo, so much better looking & tasting than that other fast food brand). I came here two days in a row. Both times I went through drive thru and had to wait outside parked for my order. Apparently they don't have apple pies ready or chubby chicken. Apple turnover took 10min and the chubby chicken over 20mins! I got tired of waiting in my car so went inside and the guy said sorry he was training someone to make the coleslaw...? (Doesn't it come out of a container from the supplier?!) Anyways, super annoyed by the service. It takes way too long for fast food. Learn to check your orders completely before packing especially after making us wait for 10 minutes at 10 o'clock at night. Not impressed. We had a business in the same mall for over 15 years, so have gone there on numerous occasions, due to convenience. Never have been impressed with the service and missing items are an ongoing concern. Recently, my wife and I went there again for Teen Burgers. My wife ordered hers and then said "No Pickles or Mustard" The women became quite irate and stated that you have to tell her first if there are any changes and now she is going to have to waste a burger, because she enters it as it is ordered. I spoke up and said no problem, I would take hers, just take the onions off and make my wife's the way she wanted. This confused them completely and she and the women in the back were mumbling and grumbling in their language until we received our order and left. Today, we received an email about the Buddy Burger, the 56 Buddy Burger to be exact. Not ever having had a BB, did not know there is a difference between a BB and a 56BB. We put our order in, being careful to advise them well in advance of our preference. She then asked if we wanted cheese? I pointed to the sign above and said it looks like cheese comes with it. She stated that "No, it is extra" Order then comes and we get plain bun, burger & cheese. I take it back and ask how these come close to the picture above. I am then advised that we ordered BB's and not 56BB's and ours are just plain with cheese. I advised that the price was less than what we paid and to just add the lettuce and tomato. "Oh no, you would then have to pay extra for those. I asked them to void the BB and sell us the 56BB and we would call it even. No can do!! I am now upset and asking for my money back and finally after much commotion, again in a language I do not speak, they tell us that they will make us the 56BB. To add insult to injury, I take my first bite and notice a moldy taste. I flip the burger over and sure enough, there is mold on the bottom of the bun. I am done, but wife takes the burger back and points out the mold. She is advised that they will have to make another one. No real apology, no offer to make it right. Shorted me a piece of chicken again! Going through drive through they have shorted me on the 3 piece meal,this has happened 6 or 7 times at this location in the last year to 18 months . As an American traveling "abroad" from right across the border, I can count on visiting here to get a fast, tasty burger, root beer, and fries. I wish we had an A&W in the states that serves the "family of burgers" as they do in Canada. Usually an American debit card will not work so cash or credit card is key FYI. I subsisted on these meals when traveling across Canada one year and I should have felt guilty haha! read more

Never in my life have I seen an establishment that treats its staff members like absolute crap. I was in the store a little while ago and could see that one of the staff members was visibly VERY sick. They looked as though they were very nauseous and having a hard time working. I then witnessed said staff member ask if they could go home because they were definitely not feeling well. You could see it on their face. The manger refused to let them go and told them to "tough it out" without even calling another staff member to pick the sick staff members shift. Health is WAY more important than working, especially in a fresh food establishment. Shame on the manager for not accommodating their staff member. How do you expect someone to get better when they are working all day. read more

Stopped there for a quick lunch on the road. Ordered a burger patty with no bun because of a gluten allergy. Also ordered a salad. My burger came plain, in a bun and my salad had a moldy grape tomato. Had to ask the counter person for cutlery, then had to explain what the term "cutlery" meant... Don't. Eat. Here. read more
