I've walked in here to pick up a slice or two and there's nothing to complain about -- it's good pizza, it's speedy, it's not outrageously expensive, and there's a lot of room to sit inside and they keep it clean. I will say that where they shine's their delivery. I've ordered pizza from here but also pastas and baked dishes -- their ricotta calzone's pretty good and so's their lasagna. It's a neighborhood pizza place for sure. Service is quick and straight to the point. They close out the dining area when high school is dismissed as it located by two big high schools. Took a ride to S.I. on Memorial Day. Wanted to go to a popular pizzeria in the neighborhood but they were closed. I saw A&S was close by the ferry & decided to give it a try. The pizzeria was quiet with only 2 other patrons inside. We ordered our usual- 3 slices warm, a beef patty & garlic knots. The pizza was in too long & came out hot, not a huge deal but I just didn't want to wait to let it cool down. It also didn't have much flavor. The garlic knots were tiny, and not very garlicky. This place was amazing! We took the free Stanten Island ferry from Manhattan just for the boat ride and to see the Statue of Liberty. A&S was walking distance from the ferry drop off on the Stanten Island side and we decided to get some real New York style pizza while in New York. This place did not disappoint! Honestly, it may very well be the best pizza I've ever had (and I'm a avid pizza connoisseur). It was cooked fast and fresh for us, and to feed my party of 9 it cost less than the hotdog stand we went to for lunch (not kidding). And to top it off, the cooks/owners were so super nice. I would highly recommend this place and I would personally go back in a heartbeat. read more

This is the pizzeria that my parents used to go on dates when they were teenagers. I remember coming here as a little boy many times for that authentic NY pizza experience whenever my family came to Staten Island to visit family. It's still my parents pizzeria of choice on the Island to this day. I must say that their regular cheese and pepperoni slices are the bomb. I highly recommend that's what you get when you come here. My most recent experience I ventured out and bought a slice of chicken parmesan and bbq chicken ranch and the taste left me disappointed; personally I wasn't a fan of the consistency of the chicken. Moreover, I should have just stuck with what I knew what was good, because you can never go wrong with a standard slice of cheese and /or pepperoni in New York. Service here was very friendly, they were more than happy to answer the questions and accommodate the needs of my family and I, and they all really seemed to enjoy their food, which is important, if we go out to eat you gotta treat my family right. All in all this place it "A-OK" with me, stop by for a quick lunch if you ever find yourself in Staten Island. read more

Normally go here for their buffalo roll but after today wont be going back. I had asked my brother to order me a buffalo roll so I could join him for a meal since he was already sitting and eating there. I come in and say hello and walk towards the seating area. I go to the front to ask for some ranch and the goofy looking Albanian guy there starts asking me childish and unnecessary questions about why I'm asking for ranch. He goes "what do u need it for?" First of all he didn't want to give me the ranch because I'm assuming he thought I didn't buy anything, meanwhile my brother was sitting with my food waiting for me. Very rude and unprofessional. Definitely don't recommend going here because their customer service is disgusting. They have no manners whatsoever. read more

I went with three stars because we only had a cheese pizza and garlic bead with cheese. (Redundant you say? Well, Shut up.) Both were totally tasty, perfectly greasy, crunchy in all the right places, gooey and cheesy and even delish. Asked for a side of ranch dressing (trust me - just try it) and it came too. Bonus. Arrived in 20 minutes. Not fancy, just yummy stick to your ribs stuff. Their menu also has the standard calzones, apps, salads, pastas, sandwiches, etc. They deliver. 5 stars. Why? The food is always excellent, no matter what I have. I have never eaten a slice of pizza that wasn't delicious, and their other food is equally tasty. If I were to move away from Staten Island, this would be a place that I'd take the ferry over just to eat at. The place is kept very clean, which is quite a nice surprise. There are no strange odors, no sections of the floor that look like they haven't been touched by any cleaning products in the last 300 years, no little bugs roaming around, and I have to say that I'm glad the walls aren't a cornucopia of photographs. Everyone there is genuinely friendly. I find myself wanting to take up an unhealthy diet of pizza every day, just because it's such a nice place to go to. If you are starving and this is your only option, then I guess this pizza would do. If not, then going somewhere else is your best bet. I got a pepperoni slice and it was average at best. My sister and I were getting pizza. We were hungry and wanted to eat it right then and there so we asked the guy to not make it too hot. There is nothing worse than trying to bite into pizza and burning your tongue. Sure I could just wait until the pizza cools off a bit but I'm hungry and I don't wanna wait! So the guy puts it in the oven and walks away. After a few minutes we remind another lady working there about our pizza. She takes it out and it's scorching. Too hot to eat without burning your tongue. Then we hear the lady saying to another customer about the same pie our slice came from, "This is pretty hot already do you want me to put it in the oven?" Sent me zepolis with no powder on them. If you don't know what zepolis are they're like a pastry drenched in powdered sugar.. But there was no sugar on mine. Worst food on Staten Island, by far. I'd rather chow down on the diarrhea of a diseased gutter rat than eat at A&S Pizzeria again. I live a very short block from this place but ordered delivery because the weather was bad, that and they love to shove menus under my door non stop, so I figured they wanted my business. Anyway, my bf and I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a spaghetti with Italian sausage. First off, it took them nearly 2 hours to deliver these things one freaking block down the street. Outrageous. And when we do get the food, the pizza is as cold as ice, no exaggeration, it felt like they just took it out of the fridge. We didn't even take a bite after touching it, I called them and demanded they fix it. they sent a new pizza a short while later and it still wasn't hot. Either way, it tasted awful. It tasted like they got the recipe from a 5 year old. No flavor, no seasoning, tasted like dough and nothing else. Needless to say it went in the trash, where it belonged. Even worse was the "spaghetti" we ordered. It was warm enough, but that didn't matter, it was atrocious beyond words. The noodles were WAY overcooked and felt like Jell-O pudding. The sauce was non-existent, it was so damn dried out, like it had been sitting in an open bucket for days and had partially evaporated. And this Italian sausage.... omg, it had the consistency of burnt rubber, and tasted like it was reheated in the microwave 30 different times, then left under a heat lamp for 15 years. I'm not even trying to be funny, it was really that bad. It was inedible so it also went in the trash. I pretty much starved that night, and that was a freaking $30 order. I don't know how this place is in business. Either people on this island have no taste buds, or they get all their business from the crackheads around St. George. It ought to be a crime to serve food of such a poor quality. To anyone out there who says they like their food.... remind me never to go over to your house for dinner. read more

A&S will never get my money again. My family has been ordering from them since I was a child (over 25 years). I've seen the quality of their pizza change over the years and the quality has gone down hill, yet we would still order because they would bring pizza straight to our door in our apartment building while some of the other places in Saint George expect you to meet them down stairs. Recently when I ordered, the guy on the phone cut me off while I was giving him my apartment number and told me he doesn't need it because they no longer come upstairs smh. It was annoying but okay fine, I placed my order anyways. What made me say never again is the fact that when my buffalo wings and garlic knots finally came The wings were literally gray! I LOVE New York pizza! Thin crust, and for me, just a plain slice or two. No need for pepperoni or sausage or anything else. I want the perfect cheese to sauce balance.... and a hint of oregano and garlic. The bottom of the crust needs to be dry and maybe the teeny-tiniest bit charred. This place came pretty close. The slices were possibly a bit on the small side, but what can you expect these days for two bucks? Service was quick, although not overly friendly. All in all not a bad little place to stop for a quick lunch before stopping at the Staten Island Museum on a rainy Tuesday afternoon (p.s. We are at this pizza place on a whim a few days ago and I'm glad we did. We really enjoyed their cheese and pepperoni pizza, my husband liked the slice of buffalo chicken pizza that he got. I also tried the Caesar salad slice and wasn't as fond of it, but my husband really liked it. It doesn't say anything about this on the menu but they also serve Italian ice and it was delicious and refreshing! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. When my family picked their pizza slices and got our drinks the owner (I assume) had us go and sit and enjoy our meal before paying at the counter, he said "you might want something else." It was a small thing but very appreciated as we were all so tired from walking around all day and my kids were hungry. My favorite part was being able to feed my family, drinks and dessert included, for $22! read more
