My family decided to try this pizzeria and happy that we did. The sauce was too sweet for me but the crust was outstanding. Service and ambience were good. Will definitely be there again.

Where do we begin .... Long over due 5 start review ... My brother Artie introduced us to Nonna's years ago when having all his kids birthday parties .... On the average my brother would order at least 8 to 10 pies for our family & friends to enjoy .... From the dough that makes an awesome crust to the quality of cheese & unbelievable sauces they make are all their different pies are just off the chain delicious ... Me & the wife had a party on the island & we were early so we had to go have a few slices to tie us over .... Their Philly slice & their Alfredo & spinach artichoke & their vodka slice & eggplant parm ....., Need I say more ... we love this place & dining in is way better then waiting on delivery... order one slice at a time & go take a look on their counter to see what pies just came out .... Luckily we met the owner Franny who came into the dining room to ask my wife & I if the room was warm enough ... it was a cold day ... Franny is a great guy, friendly and very proud of the pizza & food that he creates .... Wish he had another Pizza shop In Brooklyn .... Just saying ... lol Thanks to the entire staff who were polite & gave us great service ... Greg D & family

Pepperoni jalapeño and hot honey pizza slice

Great pizza. Fantastic service. Owner Frankie is friendly and personable. 3 counter stool seats. Mostly takeout or delivery. Garlic knots looked great and other customer said they tasted same. We ate and shared three slices. 1. Jalapeño pepperoni and hot honey. Flavors complemented one another. 2. Eggplant also very good. Has tomato sauce ricotta and eggplant and Romano. Very very good. 3. Burrata pizza. Excellent. Got a Burrata pie to go too. 4. Stuffed eggplant pizza pie. Excellent. Nice crust of pizza shells sandwiching the eggplant ricotta mozzarella etc and they gave us a container of tomato sauce for dipping. Delicious. We will definitely be back and try some other types. Really like the burrata and stuffed eggplant pies. The owner was even eating his own pizza. That's how good it is. Can't wait to go back and try clam pizza and even the plain pies look great. So many choices. We will be back. Everything tasted fresh Yum! Delish.

This was already on my bucket list of places to try so when my friend suggested a pizza outing and mentioned Nonna's I said "yeah" So glad we tried this place. Had dining room to ourselves and ordered 3 different types of special slices including pepperoni, buffalo chicken and lasagna. They were all delicious and got devoured. The staff was friendly and I'll definitely be back with more people next time!

Nonnas Perfect Pie

Absolutely delicious Pizza. The perfect pie. A+++ This pizza has all the crunch, flavor, etc... You know it's good when you can reheat it the next day and it tastes like it was just made.

Thin slice cheese slice saucy slice everything slice! One of the best pizza on the island! Its interesting where you drive by and might think it is closed due to its cage exterior, but if you take a step in you'll find the amazing different choices of pizza. Everything looked so appetizing. Ordered the upside down slice and buffalo chicken slice. Upside down had extra sauce on top of the slice. Both slices were sooooooo yummy !

4.50 for a half burned slice. Mentioned it to the staff and they could not care. Unless you order pies steer clear.

Decent tasting pizza and food at reasonable prices. Delivery is usually right in time, which is unusual lately for most pizzerias.

Delicious pizza that satisfies every time. Phone/registry staff are very pleasant and helpful, and they're always willing to confirm our allergy concerns with the kitchen. After waiting ten minutes, we found a young waitress in the back and were told to seat ourselves. When another couple arrived, she became the sole server for both tables. The service was poor throughout. She didn't offer menu suggestions, simply asking if we were ready to order. When we requested drinks, she brought the wrong items like Diet Pepsi instead of Diet Coke, and seltzer water instead of Sprite. She then disappeared for an extended period, spending most of her time at the host stand rather than checking on tables. We ate without drinks. We wanted to ask for more bread she was no where to be found. The neighboring couple had similar issues, mentioning she forgot their coffee order entirely. While we sympathized that she may have been new or inexperienced, the lack of attentiveness and basic service fundamentals made for an uncomfortable dining experience that didn't match the restaurant's reputation. The ambiance seemed very old school and family friendly. There were a ton of tables but it was also very cold like the heater at the restaurant wasn't working. The food took a long time, the food was great but honestly we didn't ask for anything big. It was just spaghetti and chicken parm.

I thought the sauce was quite nice, with a good balance of sweet to acidic. The dough was thinner than I expected, so I experienced significant flop when I pulled out a slice to eat. If you prefer your pizza to be able to hold its shape when folded, I would suggest allowing the pizza to cool down a little before eating. The MOR pie was surprisingly good-- the onions added some sweetness and crunch while the ricotta helped keep the pizza from becoming too heavy. The classic plain pie is also excellent, with a good amount of cheese and a well-baked undercarriage. Overall, an excellent pizza-- the crowds did not lie. I would love to return to try their garbage or a salute pie, along with a cup of Ralph's Italian ice from across the street (I'm told this is the elite combo). PS- Pies only, no slices. Slight discount with cash, and there is a small parking lot in the back.

It has a casual vibe, but still feels like a proper restaurant, which makes it perfect for anything from a quick bite to a relaxed sit down meal. It's a small spot, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine in. I've tried their signature coal oven pizza, chicken parmigiana, penne vodka, and the flatbread. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can also order drinks, not just soda or juice, which adds to the overall experience. Street parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it. I was so caught up with enjoying the food that I barely took any photos, and that just says it all. I'll definitely be back and add more pictures next time.

There's of course falafel to the east, garantita in Algeria, and panisse in France (or socca in a similar vein). Sicilian panelle is Italy's counterpart, and the version at Ungaro is an excellent example of it. The panelle comes served with a healthy serving of ricotta on a seeded bun. It has a relatively mild, filling flavor that lets you fully enjoy the chickpea fritters themselves. They also have a potato croquette sandwich on the menu - a distant cousin of the Vada pav I plan to try next time. The half vodka pizza we tried was good, with high-quality mozzarella and a decadent sauce. The pie itself had a nice chewiness to it - if I had any suggestions, perhaps next time they could go a bit easier on the quantity of the sauce.

Schlepping all the way out to Staten Island for this pizza was a risk I decided to take, and it paid off. The restaurant is close by the Staten Island Railway, and inside feels like a true Italian pizzeria, but not like one you would see in Brooklyn. This one is more high quality, and it shows in their pizza. The pizza is phenomenal. Outstanding. I got two pies, one red and one white, for contrast and both are worthy of terrific merits. El Naso, the red pie, is beautiful in color and taste. The porky sausage and the hot soppresata add a nice flavor to the pie, the crispy crust, it was all lining up nicely to be a great pie. I am happy I went with my gut and got this. For my white pie suggestion, I asked my server, Leslie (more on her in a moment), what to get. She suggested El Pizzaiolo. Like the red pie, it tastes gorgeous thanks to the silky and luxurious truffle oil. The crimini mushrooms and Italian sausage accentuate it beautifully and the Parmesan reggiano cheese provides a sharp, salty note to the pie. It rounds the whole thing out nicely. Leslie is one of the reasons I enjoyed my experience. At first I thought she was just a tease with her giggly and youthful demeanor, but after talking to her I found something more deeper and meaningful. There is a depth of intelligence that she has but a naïveté that needs to be cracked before her. The fact that tips mean nothing to her speak volumes about who she is. I really wanted to give her something significant to take home with her, but fun conversation and the fact she is mentioned here will be enough for now for this attractive, lissome soul. Since both pies filled me up nicely, I had to pass on dessert. But I promised that down the line I will be back because the pizza is just so darn good. Leslie, thank you for the lovely experience and I hope someone sees my compliment and gives you a little extra in your next paycheck. You deserve it. Like this pizzeria well deserving of a five star review.
