Do not waste your time here, warranty is very misleading. We are very disappointed with our experience at A&P Nursery in Queen Creek, Arizona. After purchasing 19 ficus trees from them--specifically because of the warranty they advertised--we encountered an issue that revealed the true nature of their customer service. One of the trees we purchased died within the warranty period, so we returned it in compliance with their stated policy. However, when we sought to replace the tree at the promised discount of 50%, they refused to honor their warranty. Despite following their guidelines precisely, we were left feeling misled and frustrated by their unwillingness to uphold the terms of their own agreement. We had high hopes for A&P Nursery and were prepared to be loyal customers. Unfortunately, their lack of accountability and poor handling of this situation has completely eroded our trust. We expected professionalism and integrity but were met with dismissiveness instead. read more

The people working there are very nice, but their return policies for dead plants aren't fully explained at time of purchase. Their return policies are also purposely deceptive. In a nutshell they don't really do returns on dead plants. I'd recommend going to Home Depot or Lowes, if you aren't into playing games. read more

This is a great little nursery that's only a couple of miles from my house. I come here every December to purchase a Christmas tree, and have never been disappointed. They regularly have a large selection of Douglas Fir and Noble Fir trees, provided you don't come too close to Christmas. There are always various heights to choose from, and the friendly employees will give it a fresh cut, and load it into/onto your vehicle for you. The nursery itself boasts a large variety of plants and trees, and has a very cool Koi pony to entertain you and your little ones. They have a "nursery cat" on the premises, which is very neat - if your lucky (and not allergic), you might be able to give it a head scratch while you're visiting! read more

Stepped into A&P on a super hot AZ day to ask a few questions about what I should be planting in my backyard. I was looking for low shed, colorful shrubs or ground covers. There were a couple of guys at the front of the store who were very helpful- one of them even got pretty excited talking about various options. I was wearing an ASU face mask and he mentioned the Sparky Bells to me, which I had never heard of. Apparently an ASU professor created a hybrid plant variation of the yellow bell that produces maroon and gold blooms. Yep, added that to the list! The facility is well kept, easy to navigate and offers loads of trees, bushes, shrubs, tools, soil, etc. I can only imagine what this place looks (and smells) like in the fall and spring! I'll definitely make a trip back as I really want to add some jasmine to the backyard- that classic AZ smell. The guys at A&P advised that now is not a good time at all to plant jasmine as they will very likely die in the heat trying to acclimate to their new spot. I appreciated the honesty there as I would have been an easy sale if they wanted it. Apparently there's a cat on site (Hank?) who roams the property. He typically sleeps during the warmer months and comes out at night. My daughter was disappointed to hear this but it made her want to come back again just to see the cat! Prices seemed reasonable (I'm no expert) but, again, I liked the fact that the staff were willing to lose a sale to be honest and advise that the plant I wanted would not grow well in this horrible heat. Definitely makes me want to come back later and give some money to buy a few items! read more

A&P Nursery is so close to where we live! We were able to drive over, conveniently, park easily, and walk right in to be greeted by a group of men waiting to help us. That was not the same situation in previous nurseries so we were happy to have the help. A gentleman escorted us through the various areas in which we wished to purchase. We were looking for fruit trees, shade trees, and various plants. We ended up spending just under $1000 on everything we wanted, which we thought was fairly priced. Of course, taxes included but we felt good about getting everything for that price including delivery and mulch. They scheduled the delivery date and time with us and got our address and phone number. Everything was delivered in a timely manner and they gave us a courtesy call about 25 minutes before delivery. So far our trees and plants are looking great. We had to call the other day to ask an irrigation question for one of our shade trees and they were happy to help over the phone. Overall, we enjoyed this experience immensely and we wish to return there for future purchases. read more

I have bought 4 trees from this place and paid 75.00 to remove and replace. This tree I bought is replacing my last cypress which totals 3 cypress they have replaced. I paid 100.00 this time because they went up in price. The gentleman Matt is out of town and won't be back until a week or two. I had an appointment but he had to cancel. The owner now tells me the 100.00 was just to put the tree in and not taking the other one out. This is a ripp off. This is my favorite nursery in the area. The prices are reasonable, the staff is so friendly and always helpful and my kids love going here also to see the fish pond and fountains. I have a raised garden bed and an in ground garden and this is where I stock up on most of my seeds and all of my starters. It's close and convenient, I recommend this place to family. read more

They have someone on staff that drives a red covered truck that likes to tailgate on the 60 at 80MPH. He also thinks it's OK to brake check people. He has a big black A&P Nursery sticker on the back left of his oversized, must be compensating for something, red coveretruck. He then proceeded to slow down and drive next to my car for at least 3 miles and make obscene and angry gestures. If their choice in staff is any indication of how they run their business, I'll 100% pass. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. Paul one of their " consultants" came to our home and collected "$100.00"" in cash for a " consultation " for one hour. He said he would provide us the name of a " palm tree expert" did not know his name upon . Further inquiry. We had to text him 2 Days later asking him-to call us with his number, bottom line there has been no follow up and upon asking when he can return to our home, he stated " I have a birthday party to attend " on the day that we requested he meet with us. He had not so he gave me an e mail address to send it over and got me a quote within about 20 minutes for roughly 70 plants, trees and shrubs. They do not have a guarantee on their plants like lowes does. A lot of the plants looked unhealthy. We bought 3 ground coverage plants and they seem to be doing great so far. This is my go-to nursery in the STV area. Most of the staff are very helpful and informative, willing to take to time to educated me according to the questions I have for them. The ONLY reason i didn't give them 5 stars is because of one employee (an older guy, maybe in his late 60's or so) I have encounter a few times. I think he is some sort of manager or owner. He treats you like an idiot if you don't know what you're talking about. I hate to even write this comment, because this nursery is great. If you do choose this place, seek out one of the younger cats, they're awesome. read more

I have mixed feelings about A&P. I've had friendly and helpful service and I've had service that seemed unengaged and dismissive, exactly why I prefer to drive out of my way to avoid a big box store sometimes. I love that they carry some unusual plants that most other places don't have on hand. I also appreciate the small (should be bigger!!) selection of native seeds. I understand these employees work in the heat and I am not trying to hold anyone to perfection. I will always shop here and honestly recommend anyone else to do the same. I'm a garden lover and spend lots of time and money on my outdoor sanctuary and honestly don't want special treatment but common courtesy should be the default for every person. read more

Love this place! We recently moved to San Tan and have been here quite a bit. The guys who work here are super friendly; making sure to introduce our 3 year old to the resident cats and frog. Super fun group of guys. Their plants are beautiful and everything we've purchased so far has really flourished. They have a really great selection of plants and are decently priced. They've really helped us fall in love with gardening in Arizona. There's also a fish pond to help keep the little ones entertained. Fun spot for our entire family. read more

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I had stopped on a whim, and their staff helped me choose the best plants for my situation, and even helped load them in my car! They have a great selection of trees and plants, unlike the nurseries who claim to have "thousands of trees," and then you arrive, and find they simply have thousands of two different varieties. A & P may not have thousands, but they do have many varieties, and all are in great condition. read more

I bought five white oleander that had not bloomed yet. The store manager assured me that they were all white, and I could plant them without concern. Well, they are blooming now and one is red. I called, and the owner said "dig it up and bring it back, we'll swap it, and you can go home and plant again." Seriously? You tell me you are certain it is white when I buy it, and then casually tell me to dig it up myself, bring it in for an exchange, and replant it. No sweat off your back is it? This is one of the most irresponsible companies that I have ever dealt with. read more

We visited the Queen Creek location in early January, 2018. My husband and I are updating our back and side yards with palms, trees, and shrubs. Scott and Kyle have been extremely helpful explaining what trees or plants to put near the foundation and which ones to avoid. Due to the season, some of the deciduous trees had already lost their leaves so Scott recommended we wait on the shade tree choice and planting until February. Their prices are very competitive and the atmosphere is unpretentious with a very attentive staff. We won't being going anywhere else for our plant purchases again! read more

Don't waste your time!! Cost might be low but they do not stand behind their products! Spoke with the owner about a verbally abusive employee that lied about their products. He would not do anything to fix the problem but sell me something else. The owner asked me if I was handicapped because I can't plan a tree... Who asks a customer that?? This is the most unethical company I have ever worked with! I have never been more disappointed by the way I have been treated as a customer. Watch out for this company!! Make sure you get everything in writing and don't believe what anyone tells you there. Even if you talk to the owner, he will stand behind his employees, that can do no wrong, and not remedy the lies that have been told. What a horrible experience and shame that this company calls themselves a "family business". More like a big corporate machine that doesn't care about their customers!! read more

Staff here is friendly and fairly knowledgeable. I bought 5 trees for my backyard back in November. One of them died within a couple of months. When I returned to A & P to ask about a warranty replacement, they told me that there was no warranty unless I purchased their soil and used it when I planted the trees. This sort of annoyed me since I was never offered and informed about this when I bought the trees. When I mentioned to them that I was never told about this option, the guy shrugged and basically told me I was S.O.L. Partially my fault for not asking, but just as much their fault for not offering the soil/warranty to me at time of purchase. So, A & P lost my business for the rest of my backyard landscaping; I found another nursery with better selection and prices. read more
