I have gotten gel manicures here for a few years and they always hold up well! Their staff is kind and does great work.

My mom who never gets her nails done and doesn't know better went to A&K and walked out like this with the whites of her natural nails completely showing! I have never seen such a terrible French manicure. She left the salon and showed me and I told her that she needs to go back and ask them to fix it so that the whites of her nails aren't showing. She went right back and asked them and they told her that she had to spend an extra $15 for them to fix it! Unfortunately, she needs them done for a wedding so she did. I'm outraged that they let her walk out like this and made her pay more to fix it! Awful! read more

Horrible!!!!! They broke my nail then filed it shorter than the rest and instead of putting or offering to out a tip on they just left it. Five minutes later my nail broke AGAIN with the dip on it. Went back in said I need a tip put on... SHE SLAPPED SOME ACRYLIC ON IT THEN DIPPED IT AND SENT ME ON MY WAY!!!! Never again!!! I use to come here before leaving the area and make a special trip over whenever I am in town. It's worth the wait. This is a tight group that always has a smile and takes care of customers. No wait. Quite Friendly. Quick manicure. No muss no fuss:-). Very affordable. I asked about adding in tip to my transaction bc I had no cash and it was a spontaneous stop between errands and appointments. They said sure no problem! Though there are signs pleasantly requesting cash tips. No frills but a full service nail salon. They treating everyone pleasantly who came in for services in an authentic manner. this place is horrible, I have been going here since they opened. I stopped going because I got 3 ingrown toenails from them then nail fungus because they don't clean the pedicure area very well. Decided to give them another shot went there a month ago I asked for a full acrylic set Helen gave me gel because it costs more charged me for a manicure which every place else they trim the cuticle for free. very expensive and terrible service. Oh and did I mention the full set of acrylic didn't even last 1 week and she refused to do them over. read more

Don't go here for acrylic nails. Literally the worst place ive ever gotten acrylics done in my life. I was happy at first with the nail color, but she made all the nails very uneven and they were extremely large and not thin at all. They were supposed to be coffin shape but each one went to a different angle. Anyways I didn't think too much of it--just figured I wouldn't go back there again. ALSO keep in mind that they said a full set with gel would be 40$ but apparently my nails were too "long" so I had to pay 45$ instead.....NEVER had that happen with my length nails I get, acrylics generally tend to be a little longer than normal nails.....so 2 weeks later and I have had TWO of them break off. I have two more that are about to break off. I don't work so I'm not using my nails often either, one fell off when I was SCRATCHING myself but now that all 4 are coming off I know it's her fault. In my pictures you will see that because she messed up so bad and was so lazy, she put these notches at the bottom with a grinder tool to make it look less sloppy. Those notches are were they are all breaking. For such sloppy, thick acrylics I would think they wouldn't all break off after only 2 weeks. I've never had anything like this happen. I am going back in to demand some sort of refund or gift certificate as this is the worst acrylic job I have EVER gotten done. I think they're only good at doing short nails as it seems they have never done long nails. DO NOT waste your money here. read more

First time here for me. Good experience. Very efficient, no frills, reasonably priced mani/pedi. We'll see how long it lasts. Also next door to Pax massage place I will check out as a combo for occasional days of all out pampering. read more

don't normally do this but I am so angry at the out come over my full acrylic set. The woman who did them filed my natural nail down to the point of a burning sensation then proceeded to glue tips on that were twice the size of my nail(without cutting my original nail first) which caused my skin to stick and tighten. She put about two too many coats of acrylic on which then had to be filed down over and over again to get what ended up as a lumpy surface. 6 hors later and my fingers are THROBBING! To boot, the nail polish was all over my finger tips and cuticle. I really doubt I will ever go back there in the future. The only reason I even give this a 2-star is because the prices are reasonable. read more

Was in today and I've gone here several times before. Knowing that I was getting acrylics I knew they were going to be $25. I have to say however there are great employees and there are not so great ones. The lady I had today cut me several times from filing my skin off and I had started bleeding and to "fix" this she put acetone into the open wound leaving me wincing in pain. She had also made my natural nail extremely thin before putting the acrylic on. I now have very sensitive and painful nails along with the constantly stinging cuts along the sides of my nails. Then when I checked out she had told me my total was $32. I've never had to pay that much here for a full set of nails. They did however raise the price to $27 on the pricing sign ... but why was I being changed $32 ? no idea and they did not explain why. For being charged $32 I could have gone somewhere else and probably received better service. Don't waste your time or put yourself through the pain. read more

After spending some time looking for a nail salon in Ipswich, I was pretty skeptical coming to A & K Nails based off the reviews I had read on the internet. I'm so glad I gave them a chance! I'm super picky when it comes to my nails and A & K nails did an amazing job! I'm more than happy with the outcome of my full set! Today was my 1st visit to A & K. First the Good News: Price is great, $22 for a pedicure, amazing price. The toes look good... Now the Bad News: As soon as I was in the chair 3 of the staff started speaking to each other & laughing in what I assume was Vietnese. It is one big room with a huge tv at the end. The walls are bright white & the lighting has an awful glare. This is not a relaxing experience at all... Nothing about the place is inviting but the price... I usually go to Nail Ext. in Beverly & it is a totally different experience for only $35. It's a far cry from the $50 that many places charge. I'm not sure that I will be back... Honesty it will depend if I have any problems & how full my pocketbook is.... read more

I have been going here for some time and recently have noticed a huge decline in service and quality. My last full set had ridges and bumps all thoughout and the polish started chipping in days. When I went in for a color change, I felt very rushed and pushed out the door. Again, the color didnt last. I almost feel like the polishes are being watered as they are so quick to chip and fade. Will not go back again. Very sad, as they used to be the best intown . Additionally, I have noticed the cleanliness has really declined. read more
