The food here is great but the service is super slow. Granted, it's usually really busy when I come (after church) but it shouldn't take 30-45 minutes to run my card. I tried to the chicken fried steak as this was my first time here. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a local diner in small town and the service was good. The meal was good and hot. We've been coming here for years and always enjoy the atmosphere and food. It seems the prices are going up for entrees and you only get one side, add a salad it's $3.49. Not thrilled about this place. There was a hair stuck to my grilled chicken on my Cobb Salad. They were very nice and replaced it but I was honestly grossed out by then. They charged us for it but took 1/2 off when we pointed it out. My cup was dirty on the outside. Won't be back. read more

Since 2018 this place has been going down hill. The food quality is about the same as your average high school cafeteria. The deserts are just plain awful. The food is never hot and most of it looks and tastes like it was made in the early morning and kept in warmers for hours. Don't know why we keep going back. Visited A&E on the recommendation of a friend while headed to Oklahoma City. He said it was the best chicken fried steak in Oklahoma. Not sure about that, but it was good. I am used to battered CFS, where as this was breaded, like catfish. Different for this Texan, but still tasty. Hubby enjoyed his fried catfish. We were visiting from out of state and stopped here on the recommendation of some locals. I have celiac disease which makes dining at new places a little more complicated. The hostess, manager, general manager and server were all extremely kind about answering any questions I had and finding out what my options were. They even made the steak different to ensure it was gluten free. The food was great. My family said the onion rings were amazing. Our server was fantastic. We never had an empty glass nor did we have to ask for anything. The prices and portions are very reasonable. Definitely recommend this place. read more

We drove up on Saturday to see the Christmas lights from Wichita Falls and sadly the line was crazy long. Thankfully our trip wasn't a waste because we found this place and was extremely impressed. It was pretty busy but they got is in quickly. The food was delicious and I can not say enough about our waitress Cami. She was very sweet and efficient and probably the best service I have had at any restaurant in a very long time. We can't wait to come back. read more

The food is great, but the service is terrible. We call in an order 2-3 Friday nights per month. We try to do the curbside pickup, but they never bring it out, I have to go in to get in, and it's sitting there ready. Something is always left out of the order. Been eating at A & E off and on for years. My last review I gave it was a two star. I had said the waitstaff was very young and seemed more like playing around with each other and had mentioned the food quality had seemed to go down but prices up. So since that review I've ate here about 4 more times. Each time the staff was friendly and seemed more customer focused. The food has to me improved and prices seem good for the amount of food. So I'm raising my rating up to 3 stars. Things have improved here and I think are heading in the right direction. I enjoy eating at A&E and recommend it. read more

Delicious! We had the queso with chips and salsa, both the queso and salsa were good, and the chips were salt free. I had a burger and fries, cooked to perfection, big burger too. My 6 year old nephew enjoyed the grilled cheese My parents both got the catfish which was delicious as well, big portions. Very affordable, menu is online, extremely friendly and attentive staff (we forgot something at the table, the hostess chased us out and gave it to us in parking lot whew) and the manager was very attentive and friendly. 5 stars! My husband, Daughter & I ate here last night for the first time since we have been here a month, and the food was great, the service was awesome. Wife and I both had the special last night; Indian Tacos. Now we're sitting in the Emergency Room at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton, OK at 3 am. This is a great place to eat. I ate here for lunch and tried the catfish. The fish was okay, but the hush puppies and onion rings are amazing! Our server was very attentive and did a great job. I have eaten at the location they had in mustang, but this place is better than that one. That may be why the other location is now closed. read more

Okay so I like to travel a lot. When traveling, I love to visit where the locals eat. Unfortunately, it seems, with a Google search or looking on those little signs that say "Exit for so-and-so restaurant," it's easier to find the chains that are in each of our hometowns. This is why I'm writing this review- as a local, I want to help those traveling to and through to experience the great foods Chickasha has to offer! A&E is a family favorite for us. Favorite as in at-least -once-a-week kind of favorite. Not only is the staff welcoming, but they have "above-and-beyond" personalities. If you want it, they will make it happen. The atmosphere here is unmatched in Chickasha- It's casual, it's got the local feel, and it's just the place to relax after a day of driving, playing, or working! P.S. Make sure you try Jerry's Smothered Chicken when you go, and there is no better fried okra than what you can get at A&E Grill! read more

Came into Oklahoma for a funeral, we stopped off in Chickasha to get something to eat. The interior was nice but that's about it. Bathrooms were dirty, stalls didn't lock, the toilet didn't flush. There was a worker in the bathrooms and I let her know about the toilet and she didn't seem to care she just said, "yea its been like that". The food took awhile to get to our table while there wasn't many people inside, we were sat in the back room near the bar and back door. Flies and the hot air from outside wasn't as bad as the smell inside. Once we noticed the smell, we looked around and the fridge behind bar was filthy. I am guessing that's where to odor came from. It was very unpleasant. We had a few bites and left. McDonalds was the better option. read more

I called and placed a to go order and specifically told the receiver that I wanted the queso with black beans and sour cream. I didn't have a menu with me, but she said she knew exactly what that was. She quoted me 7.00 and said it would be ready in 5 minutes. I arrived and it was ready. I paid and it took nearly 10 minutes to get my change. I got back to work and upon inspecting the queso, I noticed it did not have any beans. It is the smallest cup of queso I've ever seen as well. If I were to order and sit down in the restaurant for this I would have been given a much larger portion. I called and informed them of my displeasure and was placed on a very long hold to speak with a manager. I just hung up. I can't go back, I don't have time. So what could they do to make it better except apologize? I am not interested in hearing that. I just had a craving and they didn't deliver at all. Just bummed. For 7.00 I should have at least gotten a bigger portion of they didn't want to give me the beans I asked for (that come with it anyway) read more

Stopped here with family while traveling. Excellent food that's made fresh and great service! The waitress had a great attitude the entire time, even when one plate was sent back for being wrong - she quickly brought it back with a sincere apology. When paying for our check she made sure everyone had to-go cups without us even asking. A real gem! We will be sure to remember to go back when we are in the area again. read more
