Custom paint from Shannon at A&D Repair
    Crystal C.

The guys at A&D have taken care of our cars since moving to Lansing. They are great to work with and always treat us like family. They have fixed our cars, trucks, RV and painted our motorcycle. I included some pics of the custom paint below. The people at A&D make the difference! I love the free vehicle inspection with pics that gets emailed when I take it in!

Warning lights on due to break's being improperly installed

took my truck in for an oil change and brakes.. breaks still not working after bringing the truck home. second trip they had to bleed the line because they had air in the line. third trip the warning light came on...breaks still not working. supposedly found a defective screw.. still have the tire sensor warning light on. 3 visits still not tak care of. I think the the tire sensor which are on all wheels were broken when the tires were rotated.

Great customer service and great prices. Keep your business local, do not pay big box stores for simple vehicle repairs.

Short Review: When…read moreI someday move out of Lansing this will be one of the places I expect to have the hardest time replacing in a new city. Friendly staff, quality service and repair, phenomenal customer service, and rides to and from surrounding area if you need to leave your car for a bit. Long Review: I've been living in the greater Lansing area for a few years now, and have a somewhat older car (12 years/140,000+ miles at the time of this review). I've been to a number of auto mechanics throughout the area, and never really felt attached to any one of them until I started going to East Lansing Auto. East Lansing Auto used to be on Grand River Ave, just east of Hobby Lobby. This was particularly nice in terms of getting to campus - if you need to drop your car off they will give you a lift to and from MSU. They are now located just up Abbot/Chandler Rd, and still give rides to and from MSU. I can't speak for other destinations, but I would imagine that they also give rides to and from other places within reason. The staff are great, and you'll basically only ever run into one of two people working the front desk. They will learn your name and your car fairly quickly and make you feel right at home. They are always very upfront about diagnosis and repair, and put in effort to ensure you understand (if you want to) what's wrong with your car and what they're going to do to fix it. I've learned more about cars since I started going to East Lansing Auto than I ever thought I needed to. Prices are the price of auto repair. If you are headed to an auto mechanic there's probably something wrong with your car, and it's probably going to cost you a bit of money. They are no worse than any other mechanic in town, in my experience, and they also always give you options on different manufacturers' parts (when it is an option). East Lansing Auto is also the only auto mechanic I've ever been to that was willing to admit (and resolve) their own mistakes. A few summers ago I went in with an intermittent noise coming from under the hood. They diagnosed it as a problem with a part of the air conditioning system, and I had them replace it. A day or so later I received a call that the air conditioning system had been replaced but the noise hadn't stopped. I was a bit upset, but they reassured me that they would keep troubleshooting, and since the replacement of the A/C was a product of their misdiagnosis that it would be at no charge to me. The problem eventually turned out to be a broken flywheel in the transmission, which they fixed with no other problems. These days I even bring my car to East Lansing Auto for oil changes, which are actually cheaper than some of the 'oil change only' shops. They also give your car a good once over while in there and will alert you to anything that might be going wrong. If you're looking for a good mechanic in the Greater Lansing area, give them a try.

The best part is that if I called them with four or more cars to tow they would send every available truck out to ensure nobody could escape after spotting the truck hooking up the first car. The trick is to pass through the lot while discreetly writing down plate numbers and vehicle descriptions, then call Parking Enforcement from a stealth location, then time their ETA just right with that of the wreckers. If done correctly the cars are hoisted the second the ticket hits the windshield. To those that think this is underhanded, that is what you get for your own underhandedness of parking illegally.

I stopped by late at night and noticed the clerk standing outside speaking with what appeared to be the auto service workers. As I approached the entrance, the clerk clearly saw me trying to enter the store but did not move out of the doorway or acknowledge me at all. Instead, he continued his conversation while I stood there waiting. After being openly ignored, I started walking away because the situation felt disrespectful and uncomfortable. Only then did the clerk call me back and say, "You can come in now." As a young customer, this interaction made me feel singled out and unwelcome from the moment I arrived. No customer should feel uncomfortable or dismissed when simply trying to enter a business. The experience was upsetting enough that I do not plan on returning, and I would not feel comfortable recommending this location to family or friends. I hope management takes situations like this seriously and works toward creating a more respectful and welcoming environment for all customers.
