These guys were friendly, helpful, honest, and they even popped out a dent in my bumper for free! I came in for a oil change. I had used this shop for many years, but won't go back after this last repair. I had a squeaky front suspension part. They did not diagnosis it correctly and just threw parts at it with an expensive set of front struts ($1000). When I went to pick it up and it was still squeaking, nothing had changed. Of course, in the parking lot, with me over their shoulder, they miraculously found what was squeaking... $320 later and a new lower control arm, it was fixed. So, I paid $1320 for a $320 repair. For honesty, 5 big-ass stars. There ARE honest mechanics. Took my car in this morning to ask for an estimate to replace my brakes which have been screeching to high heaven. They took a look and told me I probably have 20K miles left before I'll need them replaced; it's just the pad compound that makes a lot of noise. A&B Automotive is the most honest, transparent garage I have ever dealt with. I brought my car in to be analyzed at 7:30. I was on may way by 10:30. The price was extremely fair and the best part was I didn't have a laundry of things that "had" to be done to my 2008 PT Cruiser. Honestly I never take the time to write reviews but I have been going here for over two years and I'll probably never go anywhere else! The first experience I had was a car I had purchased used stopped running, I had it towed to Bears shop. He took a couple hours to look at it, and was completely frank with me. My head gasket had blown and for the age of the car it wasn't worth the money to replace it. I asked him how much for his time and he said "miss you are already out a vehicle; I'm not going to take your money" which touched my heart immensely. He also said next time I buy a car, to make sure ai bring it to him before buying and he would tell me if it were worthwhile. So I did! He looked at my newer car and told me exactly what work it needed and how much it would cost over the span of the next few years. He is always honest and upfront! My experience with this shop was insane. It took them 3 tries and over a week to repair my car after I was told it would be one to two days. When I got the car back it was running worse than when I took it in. I had to tell them what they had done wrong. Six days after getting my car out of the shop the same OBD error code came up, the same one I originally reported as the problem. After spending over $800.00 my car will still not pass emissions. I should have written this review years ago. This place is really great. I have been bringing our family vehicles here for the better part of the last decade. They are fast, friendly, and I have never had any issues with the repairs. I used to price shop their rates, but since I consistently found their prices to be competitive, I don't feel the need to any more. Took my car in for a simple oil change a few months back and it was fine. Service was done, price was ok. Per the 3000 mile rule I took it to another shop for an oil change and they told me the oil hasn't been changed in over 6000 miles!! This place charged me for the service and it was never done. Last year I referred a female friend of mine to A & B Automotive for repair as I thought they would treat her fairly. She has taken her car to A & B a few times per my suggestion. Last month, (August 2015), she took her car in for repair of 1 set of brakes. They repaired the pair that were not in need of repair. They charged her for the service. When she went back because the problem was still there, they charged her additional fees to fix the set of brakes that were the problem. I am very disappointed with this business and will not refer anyone else to them. read more
