These guys are great! They helped me pack up and move out of my place in Oakland. They were very efficient, affordable, and professional. I was a wreck and didn't know where to even start packing because I have a lot of stuff, and my room was a mess. Things were cluttered and dusty, so I was embarrassed to have a stranger see it and touch my stuff, but one guy came and packed everything up the day before the move. He communicated with me the whole time, and followed my directions when necessary. The rates were unbelievably affordable for all the work they did. I had a lot of my own boxes, so I saved on supply costs; regardless, they were prepared with everything they needed to get the job done at minimal cost to me. On moving day the movers were polite, competent, and professional. Both the house I was leaving, and the apartment I moved to, had lots of stairs. I was pretty sure they must have hated me because of how much work it was, but they worked hard all day and barely even took any breaks! I'm still unpacking, but while the job may have broken the movers, none of my stuff was broken. Haha! They also do dump runs, so I will be using them again soon to get rid of all the trash. Olga and her team are on it. Olga was the first to respond and maintained a high response rate till the movers showed up. Her movers were on time and were in and out which was greatly appreciated. The rates are reasonable and you don't pay till the work is done. No B.S. like I've seen with my other movers. They took care of my belongings and did a great job of storing my equipment away into my new storage unit. I highly recommend them. They take CC and check, and you get a receipt immediately. I hired A&A during the COVID quarantine because I was moving (even during a pandemic). It was super easy to coordinate via Yelp and a quick phone call. They arrived on time and efficiently moved two bedrooms and a living room from Valley Village to Sherman Oaks - the distance wasn't far but our new place has two floors. As an injured person it was such a relief to have professionals swiftly carry and assemble furniture that I couldn't myself. They securely wrapped all our TVs, and even laid down blankets to keep our white carpet clean. Although the move took longer than I expected (that's on me for guessing), the price in the end was fair and reasonable, as listed. If I move again, I'll call A&A. Highly recommended. read more

I had a really great experience with A and A for my move earlier this year. They came highly recommended from people who have used them multiple times, and they definitely lived up to expectations. When I called to schedule the move, Olga was very helpful in giving me the information that I needed. She provided a clear breakdown of costs and of optional services that they provide. The day before the move, she also called to confirm first thing in the morning, just as she said she would. These seem like small things, but when you are planning a move, it helps to have service providers take the initiative and confirm appointments so that you are not having to juggle additional concerns. On the day of the move, the movers (Vil & Dima) showed up promptly at the scheduled time. I gave them a quick walk-thru of my place and showed them which items are to be loaded and moved. They worked quickly and efficiently. It is apparent from the way they wrapped the furniture and how they stacked boxes and other items, that they are professionals with solid moving skills. Everything was wrapped with care, and they used the wrap material efficiently and well. There was no wastefulness, which would have cost more money. Once we arrived on the other side, they unloaded quickly and efficiently. They were careful not to mark up the walls or floors of the new place, which I appreciated. Again, the details show their level of experience and thoughtfulness. At the end, we went over the bill, and each item was explained and there were no surprises. I was sent the electronic receipt right away and everything was done quicker than I expected. Overall, it was a really positive experience. I registered with this site for the sole reason of leaving this company a great review. I was looking for something affordable and they were perfect!! The three guys came and moved me without even taking a break! They took great care not to bump my furniture around and put it all in the areas I wanted it. They also wrapped up everything in plastic to protect it for transport. The wrap was only $30. They worked for 3 hours 40 min, but only charged me for 3 and a half. What a deal! We tipped them well and gave them lots of much deserved soda and water. If you are looking for great movers who don't cost what the big businesses cost, look no further!! read more

Overall excellent experience. First, the company accommodated with scheduling my appointment a day out. The price was fair with no hidden agenda as some other moving companies I have used (ie. The day of there is various others fees that weren't discussed over the phone. Vila and Slava were my movers. They were funny and friendly, efficient and offered to go an extra step with smaller items I was planning on moving myself. All tens were packed safely and no damage done to any of my belongings. I have used this company for nearly 10 years for my moving needs. At first they were great; fast, efficient, friendly. However this last experience will be my final dealings with them. I was quoted one price that claimed it included wrapping furniture. When the movers arrived, they wouldn't wrap anything unless I paid them an extra $75. Then he pulls out the roll of plastic. When I ask about the blankets, he tells me that would be an extra $60. I needed to move that day and didn't have time to call someone else. When he ran out of plastic wrapped he actually took mine (without asking) and used it all. Then claimed he was out of plastic wrap. When confronted he said he was, saving me the cost of another roll. The first roll wasn't new to begin with. I argued with him for nearly 15 minutes before one of the crew miraculously found a second roll. All of my things were boxed up before they arrived so despite the issues the move went fairly quickly. However they were careless and managed to damaged some of my furniture (even though it was "wrapped"). When I brought the situation to their attention they just hunched their shoulders and told me that sometimes that happens when moving. At this point I just wanted these cretans out of my home. I called the main office and reported the incident. The woman over the phone gave a half-hearted apology but refused to offer any sort of compensation. In all the years I've used them I have never had such poor treatment. I hope that $75 was worth losing a loyal customer because I will never use nor recommend them again. I know the old saying that it's hard to find good help. We'll in the case of A&A moving, you can't even pay for it. read more

I didn't even want them to wrap stuff, they insisted and then charged me for all the wrapping materials. I'm so frustrated because now I have broken furniture that the city doesn't want to pick up. If you value your personal items... Look Elsewhere. I was referred to A & A from a friend of the family and after canceling another service decided to give them a try, Over the phone, Olga sounded very nice and sympathetic to our move. We spent time over the phone going over our concerns and she assured us that she has been in business since the 90's and to rest assured that they would wrap and care for our items. During our move we were charged for 2 rolls of wrap. I was aware of the first roll being used but never was i told they would be using a second. They wrapped our items without blankets and exercised zero caution for our belongings. At one point i heard a load crash and noticed an item had been dropped on my stairs ( breaking a piece off the stairs which i had to later super glue back on) they went on as if nothing happened. As we began unwrapping our furniture we noticed nearly all major items had scuffs to all corners and several wooden misc. items had been chipped. I called to discuss this with Olga and sent several photos only to be told she is still waiting to speak to her movers about the incident. She even had the audacity to blame the damages on construction i had going on in the house. Keep in mind all items were moved to the center of my living room which was not under construction. Rather floors and paint was the only construction going on at the time and none of which was being done in that room. I haven't heard back from this company since numerous attempts at some sort of resolution. Olga has been avoiding my texts and emails. I would not recommend this business for your moving needs. I would never recommend to you to use this company A&Amovers. First at all they messed up with a schedule and moved my staff only next day! They damaged my china display glass even though it was wrapped by the movers. When I complained to Olga, she explained me that it was signed in the contract that they not responsible for damages. Used them for move 7/15/11. Sent the most inexperienced guys ever. They had no knowledge of how to take apart or efficiently move furniture. Just three guys, only one of which we could effectively communicate with, with no sense of urgency. They were happy to stand around and watch water drain out of a basketball hoop. They refused to move our plants, needed to be helped taking apart a bunk bed and a sleigh bed. They were incapable of getting our refridgerator through the door. Stay away from this company. Have used A&A twice, and recommended to friends. No frills, no hidden charges. Guys are quick and efficient. Can upgrade to a third mover for cheap...well worth that if you are moving 2 bedrooms or more. Shrink wrap and a gas surcharge were only extra fees charged and they were up front about those costs...no surprises upon completion. Took about 8 hours for three movers to move our 2 bedroom house, we have a lot of stuff though plus I wasn't finished packing when they arrived so I imagine you could cut that time down if you had a little less stuff and were completely packed upon arrival. I can absolutely relate to the previous review. i had the most awful experience with them. they are true thieves. they took forward to move boxes. they were inexperienced. the lady who's in charge, her name is olga and she's a bitch. the movers stole money and they absolutely denied it. the movers broke furniture and they denied it. the movers would arrange the boxes in a way that would require them more time and more trips to take the boxes. they took as long as they could. only one of them was a bit better. their overall service SUCKED. and even though i had checked with them in advance if there were other charges and they had denied, they still charged me for a shit load of other things. My GF and I used this for a local move. At the time, there were no Yelp reviews and I wasn't sure what to expect. We used two trucks, two crews (2 each day) on two days so I feel my experience was typical. The office called a day or so before the move to confirm and the movers arrived slightly early on both days. Everybody was extremely careful and they moved very quickly. Each day we used less than the minimum booking time. Their rates are very reasonable and pretty much a flat hourly rate. The crews are friendly, professional, prompt, careful and hard working. My boyfriend and I just moved using A & A Moving Company. Their service made this move my easiest ever! They showed up 15 minutes early. We hired 3 men for $80/hour with their truck. I moved to my new place about two years ago. I called A&A Moving Company because I had used them before about three yrs prior. I set up a moving appointment. I knew it was the right company because the woman who answers the phone isn't very nice but my experience the first time around was so professional and fast that I didn't mind. Yet this time to my dismay A&A never showed. They never called to cancel and I never heard from them. When I called they didn't answer their phones. I left many messages and by then I'm sure they had gotten them and learned how to avoid my calls. I was stuck. All the other companies I tried were completely booked for the day. I had to sleep on the floor that night. I never will forget how unprofessional they were and how badly I was treated and ignored. Moving is stressful enough without worrying if the company will even show up. Until this day I still remember my frustration and tears even though it was two years ago I felt I needed to write a review. I hired these movers and was extremely disappointed. I was raining on my moving day, and they left my stuff sitting in the rain- including electronics. I asked for shrink wrap and the movers told me know. I stressed I want shrink wrap and will pay for it and they refused. They stated they would wrap everything in blankets. They did not wrap stuff in blankets. Left my brand new refridgerator in the rain, uncovered, scratched the front entirely up and put a large dent in the side. They refused to move several items telling me to put it in my car, and would not carry the dresser with drawers in it even though previous movers have. They then proceeded to be rude and upset that we wanted to put the drawers in bags so as not ruin the clothes inside. They also would not put the boxes and furniture where asked and put a fight about moving the stuff inside. Do not use these movers! read more
