I came to this locksmith shop because I needed a new car key fob because my old one had the button part fall out and get lost. This was causing my car alarm to ring like crazy even though I could open the car and start it with my spare that doesn't have the buttons. I bought some replacement keys off of Amazon. The package came with two uncut keys with a fob that could be programmed for my car make and model. I was able to get both keys cut and programmed at this place for 130. He did a great job and gave me tips on how to clean my cars ignition because it was making the new keys stick. He was very nice and professional. He told me before hand that if we was not able to program the keys he would only charge me for the key cutting at 45 each which again is a great bargain compared to going to the dealership. read more

Excellent service this morning by Leo Simon. I misplaced my Car key and had no spare so I called A-Al's Locksmith. Leo arrived within an hour like he said he would. BEWARE. USE WITH CAUTION. Theyll lie and wont accept damages that they make on your stuff. Took my Car's Key Fob remote for a simple battery replacement. They tried returning the remote with KRAZY KLUE along the edges. KRAZY KLUE!! It wasn't after I had to act like a bitch and make a scene that they tried putting the remote back together properly. I told them Im not mad at them directly but how BADLY they handled the situation WITHOUT OWNING UP TO IT. If you mess up, YOU MESS UP. Just admit it and correct it. Fast and great service once you get there. Frankly, over the phone, they did not instill much confidence in their abilities. I called regarding having extra keys cut and programmed for a Honda Fit. The woman on the phone said, "we're not responsible if it doesn't work. You still have to pay for the programming and the cut if it doesn't work." I went anyway because I had gotten my key cut and programmed beforehand for another car. The keys were cut and programmed without a hitch. Really really happy i found Als lock & key. I have spent a week trying to get my cracked car key fixed. Honda wanted to charge me 180 and make a 2 hr apt. Other locksmiths either couldnt do, were too busy to answer my questions or were just as expensive as honda. I called up Als and they immediately asked if the buttons still worked and said they vould just move it to a new case and voila - an hour later my key is fixed for less than half the price anyone else wanted to charge. read more

Great skills on my classic Mercedes-Benz. Some other guy said I'd have to "get it drilled" ($500) to remove a key fragment from the ignition cylinder. But Al's got it out in about ten minutes. Worth every penny! read more

I cant say enough good things about Als Lock and Key. I found them when i searched for locksmith near me after i had gone to one working out of a parking lot that failed me 2x in providing me a remote for my car. I called Als and worked with Soledad the whole way through. She was very helpful, knowledgeable, and super sweet. She allowed me to give my deposit over the phone and kept me updated on when the key came in and when i can come on in. They gave me a one week period but they delivered early. YAY!!! I just came back from picking up the key and the whole process took less then 10 minutes (programming it and everything). So nice to put a face to Soledad. These guys are on it!! Didn't find out my truck was broken into until 4:15pm, steering column pulled apart and ignition damaged to the point that my key didn't even go in anymore. Called Al's, they were literally there in 15 minutes or less and even had the part I needed to be replaced. So I got a new ignition, he even put the column parts back together for me, you can't even tell what happened. Total cost $260 which covered the call out, the parts, the repair and 2 new cut keys for my new ignition. Totally worth it, would highly recommend. read more

The service is different when calling over phone for quotes to rekeying door locks. I called about 2 weeks ago and received a different quote for rekeying the lock. Which was reasonable. .I called a week later it was triple the price. The first lady stated that it is cheaper getting the locks rekeyed. I said, that's just what I want I didn't want a new lock just rekeyed. The second representative gave me a different quote which sound like the price for putting a whole new like on door instead of rekeying. She was firm too. Even when I said the prior representative gave me a different quote. She said, "that's how much it cause." read more

They will start promising they'll fix the problem, and when they are finished, you'll end up with the problem worse than when you got there. My car driver's door had a key cylinder that needed to be fixed as I couldn't unlock it from the outside. They quoted me $85 and guaranteed that it would get fixed in 1hr. I waited for three hours, and the guy that did the service had not finished and pointed other problem, saying it was the actuator (electric part) and he would charge $350 (he did not speak English and had to have this lady to translate everything for him). He left my car in a mess with grease everywhere, and somewhat had my car battery drained. They had to call and ask support to bring a jumper. I decided to pay $20 since he had worked 3 hours on it, and thought it would not be fair to leave without paying anything even though the problem was not fixed. Later on I discovered that the windows of the 3 doors other than the driver's door got affected by his unprofessional work (all the windows were functioning properly when I got there, and now they don't go up or down). Don't waste your time there. You'll end up worse and if you're not clever enough, you'll get fooled by them. I only went there because a mechanic "friend" recommended. read more

Newer auto keys can be a pain to duplicate and can set you back a couple of hundred dollars. I'm not talking about the non-metal, keyless-ignition key with buttons; just the basic metal key with a chip inside (no buttons). I was getting quotes for close to $180 just to have a key cut and "programmed." I called around and Al's Lock And Key came in at under half of what most everybody else quoted. The previous reviews weren't encouraging and I was skeptical of the location. However, I was going to be in the area that day so I gave them a chance. First thing I noticed upon arriving was that the shop looked a little outdated. Then again, I don't visit locksmiths on a regular basis so I didn't know what to expect. They had prices for various services and items marked throughout the store. In most cases they were priced better than Home Depot. I was quickly greeted by a woman and I told her that I had called before about having an auto key made. After giving her my vehicle information she quoted me the exact same price I was given over the phone. They had me pull my truck around to their back lot and they took my key. Within 35 minutes they were done and I was out the door. To my surprise, the duplicate key was an actual Ford key ( for an F 150). I thought I was going to get a generic "chipped" key but was instead given a genuine Ford key; and at less than half the price I was quoted from the Ford dealership! Sweet! Although it's a little far from where I live, I probably use Al's Lock And Key only if I'm in the area. read more

The first locksmith was at my house for 2 hours and then left. Another quoted about 500. These gentlemen did it in far less time and we paid practically nothing. They also gave us 2 copies of our key instead of the one any other place was going to give us. Highly recommend them. read more

Terrible service, avoid them at all cost. I set up an appointment to get a key cut and programmed a day in advance. The appointment was for 2pm. I was there 15-20min prior. I called at 2:30pm and was notified he was on his way and that he'd be an additional 30mins late so I waited (I shouldn't have had to call to investigate they should have informed me of any delay ASAP) They didn't call me to notify me of any delay until 3:45pm, ONE HOUR and 45 MINS LATER, and they called to let me know that he had issues and was stuck in traffic, he was in Santa Monica which with traffic is only 30-35 min from Westchester and they told me he would be ANOTHER 45 MINS late. OVER 2 1/2 HOURS LATE! If i could give negative starts I would give them ten because they have no regard for people's time, and like in any business time is money and dependability is key. I know sh** happens but it doesn't take almost 3 hours to figure it out. read more

I only had 1 key for my '13 mustang. I ordered 2 transponder keys with built in remotes from a separate retailer and these guys cut them and programmed one for me (the dealer would have charged $110 for programming one key alone, I could program the other myself after having two programmed keys).
