Thank you Mick and the staff at Manchester Lock & Security. My son lives in a family apartment unit where my 85 year old dad likes to do his own maintenance. The bedroom door lock was replaced with an ornate old lock/knob that came with a skeleton key. The door lock never worked. Last week my son called me saying that he had problems getting out of his bedroom. The door lock was getting stuck. I live in Westchester not too far from Manchester Lock & Security. I always go there to get keys made. Years ago they even fixed the key ignition switch on my car. I went in on a Friday and inquired about having someone come out to install a new door knob with a key. I was given a card with a number to their dispatcher to call to make a service call. I called and spoke with Ramon. He told me that he had an opening for the following Monday between 9 - 12. That Monday, I called to confirm my appointment. Mick arrived around 11:50am. I showed him what I needed to have done. Mick got right to it. He show me the closest doorknob lock set that would match. He started on the installation. He also put the door plates back on the door to hide the old knob hole. He cleaned up and was done within 50 minutes. My son and I are very happy with the new door knob/lock. read more

avoid at all costs, we had them put a new buzz in door system at our business, the remotes broke repeatedly (replaced 15 of them in less than 2 years) and now when we call to inquire about how to order more replacement buttons they said stop calling and hung up on us. they are unprofessional and incompetent. read more

The staff were very helpful. I purchased the touch screen lock system at the store and paid the in home service. The installer set my lock to my cell phone and I can monitor anyone coming in or out of my door. For instance, if you have a trusted plumber coming in while you are at work, you can give him a separate code and then delete that code after that person completes their job. I love technology. And I don't lose my keys and lock myself out any more. read more

Westchester Lock and I Pre Scheduled a House visit 2 days ahead of our Scheduled Visit to get an Estimate for an installation of a Door Lock at my House here in Westchester, and the Guy never showed up. I was given a 4 Hr. Time Frame of when he'd be at my House to receive an estimate. I never received any Text message, or phone call saying they'd be here late. Contacted company to provide a quote for a new intercom system. This office is not even 10 minutes away from our building. Offered to pay for estimate. Business associate said and I quote. "They are too busy to give us an estimate and they do not want our business. " I told him this condominium community was mostly fixed income senior citizens but we would be willing to pay for estimate because intercom does not work and needs to be replaced. Didn't care. Didn't want our business. Don't waste your time calling! I would stay away from a business who is so busy that they pick and choose who to help and who not too. read more

This is one of the worst locksmiths I've been to in this city. I recently came on the 17th of January at 11:12 am to inquire about getting a service of unlocking my car door with my keys being locked inside. The first thing that was communicated to me was "we don't provide services like that because it's considered a felony to police if they see anyone trying to get in anyone's car". After clarifying myself I said I wanted to pay for service to retrieve my keys, to which I was told again "we don't do things like that here" by an employee with a heavier build and glasses with darker decent. After a few seconds of silence another employee by the name Of Frank came from the back and asked "what kind of car is it" to which I told him my year make and model. After giving it some thought he then asked were it was located to which I told him it was right across the street at ARCO, to which he said they did offer such service. While frank was tethering with his tools the other employee of a heavier set started giving grotesque jokes of my skin tone and others for about 5-6 minutes, trying to get me to laugh along due to his guilty conscience. After frank gathered his tools to follow me all but 50 ft across the street to my vehicle, he then pulled out a spare key and told me to get my keys it would be a charge of 45 dollars. Quickly after, he unlocked my doors and took my keys out and put it in his pockets. I told him I don't believe I have 45 dollars to give with me just putting 30$ worth of gas in my car, to which he said we can discuss payment across the street as his location. Upon me arriving I realized I was 5 dollars short for the transaction, to which he walked back to my car to lock my keys back in. He then said good luck and walked away. I can't help but feel like this treatment was due to my appearance of being a darker skinned man with a hoodie jacket and sweatpants on due to the rain, because I've never been treated that way. Kevin is a crook. I called this company to come and rekey my house. The same day that the technician left I went to the actual location to have duplicate keys made and advised the sales person Frank that one of my locks did not seem to function properly. He advised me that that is common for new locks and that it should be OK with more use. One month later my door barely locks... When I turn the lock to remove my key... The lock pops back open. The owner stated that it was ONLY $112 job and that he would not come out to repair it. He stated he had no proof that his tech did not do the job right. My lock worked perfectly before calling this company out. This is a shady business and I regret ever doing business with them. read more

I needed spare keys made for my SYM scooter and Shad motorcycle luggage case. Since both are not common, the team, with several key blanks in hand, went to my bike and tried to find the key blank that will work (went back and forth a few times). It took a good amount of time and there was not a way that would have been faster. Thankfully, there was a great and large selection of key accessories to shop for, interesting door lock products, and comfortable bar stools to sit on that made the wait easier. True professional locksmiths in a sea of ill trained bozos with no storefront and little accountability who drive around in vans. I worked for a firm that heavily used Torrance Lock and Key, affiliated or used to be connected to Manchester Lock and Key. These guys know their stuff and do things right the first time, quickly as they know exactly what they are doing. If Manchester Lock and Key charges extra, I am happy to pay it as I want my key made or lock installed or lock re-keyed correctly the first time. I used to go to B & B Hardware in Culver City but I am done with B & B after it took 4 tries to cut a simple auto key. Home Depot is also less than stellar. Go with the pros! I have used Manchester Lock & Security several times to have keys made and the staff was always super friendly and nice. I stopped in yesterday (01-24-12) looking for a Hide-A-Key for an extra large Kia Soul key for when I go surfing. They had a couple of selections in stock but nothing fit. I asked if they carried what one might see on the fence of an apartment building a locking device with combination lock in the middle that opens like a safe. They referred me to an online ordering system, found it in a catalog and asked if I had any additional questions, overall super helpful. The parking is a bit limited. All parking for this business is metered and last time I checked 25 cents was cheaper than a parking ticket. Manchester Lock & Security offers Locksmiths and had a wide range of personnel safes, fireproof safes and gun safes. This seems like a little Mom & Pop business that is still in business despite the economy so if you happen to be in the area throw them your business unless you like being harassed by Day Laborers when you pull into your local Home Depot. read more

Went in to get a key made for an old door. They didn't have the key in stock and had to order. They promised 2-3 day turn around. When that didn't happen I called a week later. I had to keep calling but eventually the key stock came in. Because of all the back and forth the guy gave me the keys for free! Now that's customer service! read more

I, Hazel Walley made an appointment with Manchester lock and Security located on Manchester Blvd in the city of Inglewood, California. They were scheduled to come out on Friday, January 14, 2021, but didn't show up until Monday January18, 2021 to access the lock. After accessing the lock, he discovered that it was not the lock, but that it was due to the door not having a weather strip. He didn't have a new one in his van. He assured me that he would come back on Monday to complete the job. Tuesday January 19, Juan came out but he did not bring the the strip. He said that the man that came out Monday did not put in the system a strip for my lock/door. Manchester Lock is back to what it was before Stanley Security took it over and ruined it. They are affiliated with Torrance Lock and have prompt and courteous customer service as well as great inhouse over the counter guys. I had some custom keys made and they were right on target. Had a GREAT experience at Manchester Lock and Security! We needed to have a Jaguar Remote Key Repaired. We first took it to Jaguar in Santa Monica, who said they needed TWO HOURS to fix and a Ton Of Money to do it! We then found Manchester Lock ON LINE, and took our key there. The staff was Very Courteous, and Got right on it! After a brief inspection, they said there was a "bad sensor connection." It only took about 10 minutes to do the repair, and for a Very Fair Price!
