My mom has been visiting this place for decades every time she visits California. It's near the mall. Only on my last visit did I pay attention to the name of the place. Stopping by the egg place before our road trip home is now a fond childhood memory even though I can only eat the egg yolk/not the baby of the hột vịt lộn - my mom usually eats that for me. My parents and the rest of the family love hột vịt lộn/balut. My mom is very particular about the stage of maturity of the balut and talks to the guy to make sure she gets what she's looking for.
I only noticed now that that they sell farm fresh chicken eggs also. They also have fresh quail eggs. They seem reasonably priced, so that's pretty cool. If I lived near, I'd probably by regular chicken eggs from them instead of the grocery store. I remember they once sold Vietnamese Coriander (Rau Ram) the particular herb that you eat with the hột vịt lộn, they still might. This is their wholesale location, but they have a counter and cash register for normal customers. My mom usually just stops by randomly, but I would call them for their hours of operation. In addition to hột vịt lộn, they specialize in eggs for research, vaccines, whatever you need chicken/duck eggs for. read more
