I asked for 2 potatoes and she put in some other vegetables into my bag that I just ended up handing off to my mom because they were far from potatoes and I didn't have a use for them. Moral? Check your bag to make sure the woman puts the right item in. Other than that, parking is east and plentiful. Watch the steep dip coming out of the parking along the side with the traffic light. This is a solid place for fresh chicken! I normally go to Electric City Butcher in Santa Ana for chicken, but it's pricey. This place is cheaper than that place and more expensive than supermarket chicken, but I think it's fair for the quality you get! They had 4-6 different options for chicken, and I ended up getting the #2 (I think it was the brown rooster?). The cashier was friendly and could tell I wasn't sure which chicken to get, so she walked me through the differences between each one. I ended up with #2 since it had a yellow skin and chewier meat. We made Hainan chicken with it and we were pleased to see there was little to no scum in the soup! We also got a couple baluts and those were tasty too. We went on a Monday night and there was no wait. Parking is in a small lot but it was easy to find a spot. They have a decent selection of Vietnamese and Mexican spices and ingredients. A discussion with the gentleman behind the counter, and shortly afterwards I was the proud possessor of a freshly dressed chicken. I cooked it on Friday, and the resulting soup was the best I've ever had! I shared it, along with the other dishes I made, with a couple of friends, who agreed with my assessment. COCKROACH INFESTATION this used to be my spot for chicken because of the convenience but i recently came across a report from the health department dated 9/19/2019 that this place was infested with cockroaches and that my friends is a BIG NO for me and my food apparently this had been happening for a while now and just now they got caught by the health department who actually closed the place for a couple of days. I love coming here for farm fresh raw organic chicken. I believe they also sell eggs, balky and some fresh vegetables. They have different chicken varieties and offer a service to cut up the chicken! This is great because I can't break down a whole chicken to save my life. They take the extra step of removing any feathers that may have been left on during the processing. II have been planing to come here for years but farm fresh eggs at farmers market in orange gave me no real reason. That market became useless and I returned to supermarkets and reading sell by dates and packed by julienne dates. Finally my wife said it's time. So we went out of our way and now I find I have been a fool. Every thing is fresh that day and I mean chicken, eggs and produce (really looked good) even if some what limited (farm fresh). OK OK Eggs -- they only sell Jumbo but their not --I weigh mine at home and find they are Extra Jumbo (there is nothing larger). Then I got 2 of the best chicken Leg Quarters you will ever find (Fresh that day from the farm). I bought two different types of chickens and both tasted amazingly delicious! The size of chicken is a size that a real chicken should be! A whole chicken is around 2.2lbs grown without any hormones and chemicals, not like average regular chickens sold at markets up to 6.6lbs!
