The company stated that they would be here within two hours, but never called back and never showed. Leaving me stranded.Not law enforcement friendly in my opinion. P.S. This company works closely with AAA and have used them over the years for various issues. They recently replaced two lost key fobs that my son had lost. They were reasonable and showed up with factory keys. They worked and were programmed in a short order. Their owner, Mike, is a reputable person who always stands behind his service calls and products. Initially had an issue with the first service call, but he called me up and made it right. That means a ton as far as reputable business go. So you will be in good hands with them. read more

Please save yourself the trouble and choose someplace more professional! I only used this because they're a AAA sub-contracted company for lockouts. Now, I'm stuck paying for damage to my BMW's shattered window that their employee broke, my interior from my car being windowless and it pouring raining & making sure I do not end up with electric problems due to the buttons being exposed to rain. The door lock was broken, or at least not working. They offered to come.to.the house , but It was easier for me to go to them. They did a great job ,.cleaning and fixing the lock and made another key for me. It didn't take too long and the cost was reasonable. I will definitely use them again when I need too. read more

I have been a member of AAA for nearly 20 years and its very unfortunate that they are cutting corners contracting services from this company. Being locked out of my car, I called AAA and they referred to A-1 Lock & Key. Their employee used a tool and proceeded to unlock the driver's door near the handle. I heard a cracking noise but the door did not open. Then he moved closer to the lock and opened it. It was done very fast, I wanted to tip him but gave me no time since he left in a hurry. I understood his haste when I noticed that the interior door handle was broken. I called AAA and explained the situation and they gave me A-1 Lock & Key contact info. Michael Jr came to see the damage few days later, and told that they would investigate what happened with the employee who unlocked the door. After 10 days of no reply and run around, I managed to talk with Michael. Incredibly he accused me for causing the damage to my door. Sarcastically, he wished me luck. The damages to my car caused by this inept "professionals" (parts & labor) are about $180. So if you get locked out, maybe its going to be cheaper if you break your window with a brick before calling this people. read more

I just needed lockout service today (left keys in locked car). I will say that it took their person a long time to arrive (about 1-1/2 hours) although to give her benefit of doubt, we did have bad t-storms and the usual heavy south FL traffic. I used AAA and they (and she) did check in on me about every 15 minutes to give me updates. Plus I got texts as well. Once she got there she had no trouble getting into my car without any damage whatsoever. She was super friendly and offered up some water, which is always appreciated here in hot south FL. read more

Service was the worst I ever received! Had AAA call these guys to come and make me a key for my car these guys burned out my 2006 Toyota Corolla LE key immobilizer unit in my car with there key program computer and it costed me $1600 dollars to get the immobilizer replaced by toyota. I feel like I have been "robbed without a gun" with the amount i had to pay in repairs smh. read more

I was locked out of my own car in a Walgreens parking lot shortly near 163rd and 15th avenue when A-1 Lock and Key showed up in remarkable time (as little as 15 minutes!) to save the day. Guy pulled out some sort of contraption that slid in between the door with a pump and in as little as 15 seconds had the door open and keys in my hand! Of course I had to come back by Google Reviews and give the man the rating he truly deserved! 5 Stars! Excellent fastest service I've ever had by AAA--and I've been a customer for over 10 years. BEWARE AAA IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO REFER MEMBERS TO A-1 Lock & Key WHO HAS OUTRAGIOUS PRICES FOR CAR KEY REPLACEMENT!!!! I was referred to A-1 Lock & Key by AAA. I didn't have any idea of what the replacement prices would be but trusted that AAA would send me to a reputable honest company. I'm a basic AAA member and rec'd 50.00 discount. The company charged me $325.00 - 50.00 discount = 275.00 for a remote car key or $225.00 - 50.00 discount = 175.00 for a regular car key. They were out of the remote keys and I needed to purchase a regular key for $175.00. When my daughter got home from work she checked other locksmiths and the total charge for a remote car key was 160.00 and a regular car key was 100.00 (and that is their regular prices without the 50.00 discount from AAA). I called AAA to complain and they stated they contract the work to third party contractors and don't have anything to do with the prices. I requested to have AAA inform the members to shop around for prices before using their so called trusted contractor. I'm sure that will never happen. Also A-1 Lock & Key arrived over two hours after the estimated time of arrival. read more

This company was dispatched to me by AAA with a 45 minute ETA. At 1 hour A-1 called to say they would arrive in 30 minutes due to traffic. At an hour and a half, AAA called them and they were to be another 20 minutes. Although I didn't think they would show...they did at 2 hours and 25 minutes. I would think that AAA would have higher expectations than this. If you have nothing better to do, find a comfortable place to wait and call these guys. If your time is as important as theirs...anyone would be better. Too bad, the service guy was very pleasant and took about 2 minutes to do the job. read more

So grateful for the quick response to help my daughter and I get into our locked vehicle. On July 6 we accidentally locked our key in trunk of car at local Publix store. A1 came from AAA. Called us enroute and upon arrival. Got into the car but trunk would still not open. The man did not give up. He went on line and found out the secret to dropping a rear seat and even crawled into the trunk to release it, with assistance of my daughter. So they contacted A1, the locksmith called me right away but he was in Midtown and would take awhile to get to me on Bird and 57th . Nicest man ever. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible service! Do not call these guys unless you want to be waiting for hours and get absolutely no customer service. They kept me waiting for over 2 hours and would not have the driver call me or give me the number of the driver. When the driver finally called me he was very rude and even hung up on me. The only positive is that both the dispatcher and locksmith were not overtly rude. Otherwise, the service was so awful that I will NEVER do any business with this company and I've decided to drop AAA for their insufficient effort to make things right. I called for a locksmith at 1:50 PM and given an ETA of around 2:56 PM. The driver calls me around 2:45 and tells me he will be another 15-20 minutes. No problem so far. A half hour passes with no communication from the driver so I text him back and he replies that he is about 50 blocks away, is encountering light traffic (his words) and that he would be in another 15 minutes. Again a half hour passes with no communication from the driver. I call AAA to inquire about what is happening. The locksmith apparently has told dispatch that he is delayed because it is raining and that he would arrive at my location in another 15 minutes. Remember he mentioned that he was 50 blocks away half an hour ago. This is probably about 5-7 miles in real distance.The weather was completely clear where I was so he was either lying about the reason for the delay or lying about where he was. I called AAA and again heard that the driver would be another 15 minutes. I asked if there was any thing that they could do and their response was that if they contacted another locksmith I would be placed at the bottom of the queue. Totally unacceptable. This time I called A1 lock and key directly. The operator/owner was pleasant and told me he would try to reach out and call me back. He did call back and told me that the driver was 10 blocks away and that again he would be there in 15 minutes. I told him that the driver had to be lying about his whereabouts as the time scales didn't add up and the weather was still clear. The locksmith showed up at 4:33 PM in his private vehicle. Mumbled something to the effect that his truck ran out of gas and quickly opened the door for me. The whole ordeal was nearly 3 hours. My guess is that the driver is doing side jobs on his employer's dime and mismanaged his time. I don't believe traffic was an issue as when he first contacted me his words were light traffic and he never bothered to contact me again unless I reached out to him. His claims of bad weather were bogus as well as he was only about 5 miles away from me when he contacted me and there wasn't a drop of rain nearby. In any case, there is far too much competition in Miami-Dade to put up with this level of service. I will never contract with these people and urge everyone else to do the same. AAA should also have a system to expedite issues like this with a secondary locksmith when things like this happen but that's for another review. read more

AVOID THIS LOCKSMITH. This is the WORST SERVICE I have received. Let me tell you, when a person takes the time to write a review as long as this one is because the service was truly beyond disgusting. We made a service call for something as simple as opening a car door after having been locked out, and it took over 3 hours for the service tech to get to where we were. After waiting almost 2 hours we called to find out where the driver was, and we were told he was 3 miles away, approximately about 5-10 minutes. 20 minutes passed and we called back to see where the tech was, and apparently he had gone to a different call after we had been waiting, but that he would head to us next. More time passed, and we called the office back, and they contacted the driver, they got back to us and told us that the driver/service guy, whose name is Tavin, decided not to answer to our service call and that he would not be making it. After 3 hours of waiting, this guy takes it upon himself to not serve a customer that waited for over 3 hours under a cold Miami night. This is beyond ridiculous, it is mindboggling the piece of shit service these people are providing. No manager on duty, no explanations as to what happened, and if we didn't follow up ourselves we'd still be waiting. DO NOT REQUEST SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY, unless you want to get old waiting.
