Beautiful place and great coffee! It's right in the heart of the city, next to the Liffey and a metro stop. The entrance is a bit hidden, but it has a lovely grey entrance with their big 9 written on the windows. I found out about this place through the book Ireland Independent Coffee Guide as well as on the business card of their sister shop, Dublin Barista School on Anne Street. I stopped by here today to grab a cup, and it was a great cup of coffee. The baristas were very friendly, and you can tell they are very skilled in their craft. I got the flat white, and they poured a beautiful swan on top :) From Monday to Fridays from 2-3, all their house coffees are only 2 euros! They also have a student discount for 2.30 euros and sell various pastries too. The interior is a bit rustic looking, with signed tile walls, old lamps, peeled wallpaper and various big square tables to chat or do work. The place has black and white squared floors, mysterious black curtains in the back, and even an old espresso machine as part of their decor. I would definitely come back to sit and enjoy an afternoon here. It's definitely a bit more quirky than your usual aesthetic coffee shop, but it's worth stopping by. read more

Superrrrrr, i cannot believe i wasted years not going thereee. I always thought its weird bar from the outside until i walked in onetime and i was surprised its a real specialty coffee. Coffee and matcha is super good and the baristas are very talented in the latter art. Give it a try if you're in Dublin. read more

Great coffee. The oat milk is a bit sour but that is most oat milks. Nice local coffee shop if you ever want to try "Dublin" coffee. A loud ambience feel and big tables, so good for large groups and conversations. read more

Back in Dublin, Ireland, one of my favorite cities in the world. Dublin has a coffee culture all its own. A lot of small coffee shops with outstanding Barista's. They prepare and serve up coffee as a city better than any other city in the world. Sorry Seattle, Portland, its the truth. Where I find they fall short is in the coffee itself. Many say they Roast and have Branded coffee bags instore, but I came to find out through conversation was there are just a few Roasters and they work like a contractor and "Roast" for a brand. This is why when I got an espresso at one shop and then tried espresso again down the street it was the same. This is where they seem to fall short, in shop roasting with Micro-lots of speciality. I may be wrong but this is my impression upon tasting coffee in over 15 shops in Dublin city center. As a full fledge coffee nerd/snob I am looking for great coffee nothing more. Also if they don't roast their own beans and they are just serving someone else's coffee they will never get above a 3 star from me. I am looking strictly at the coffee and the customer service in my reviews. 9th Degree has the atmosphere and skilled Barista's you come to expect in Dublin, friendly and well trained and delivered each cup with art.
