Tonya is kind, has really positive energy, and is encouraging throughout the process. It's very tempting to call what Kira does magic, but that would be selling her work short. What she…read moreprovides is a very structured, compassionate approach to dealing with deep-seated issues that aren't easily managed using adult logic. I'd been struggling with aversion that felt irrational. Our first session was game-changing. Hypnotherapy is not different from other therapy I've done, and it dovetailed nicely with my meditation and yoga mindfulness practice. It involved entering a deep state of relaxation and accessing my subconscious to achieve an understanding of the cause of my aversion and provide alternative behaviors. I remembered everything about my sessions and though my session was emotional I left feeling truly refreshed. A second "tune-up" session helped me sort out a few related issues. And the use of a reminder object has become an everyday reminder of my progress. Kira has a calm, encouraging manner. I felt welcomed and understood at every turn: having her was like having a coach who could see the big picture AND a fan wanting to see me succeed. Highly recommended for those long-term "unsolvable" or "irrational" issues that crop up and interfere with the day to day.

For privacy reasons, I won't mention the reasons for my seeing her, but I will say I had been feeling "stuck" in my life and other methods of therapy weren't working, so I thought "might as well." She is the first and only hypnotherapist that I have seen, and I found her to be very effective in our work together. Her website is helpful in listing some things she treats- from anxiety to anger to hypnobirthing classes. I began by shooting her an email and discussing what I wanted to work on to make sure she was the right fit. I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later, as she fills up quickly. I had about a 4 wk wait to see her for my first time; then she gets you in regularly as needed. The office itself is comfortable and relaxing. There is plenty of street parking right out front. Kira is always prompt and professional, which I greatly appreciate. I would describe her style as warm, friendly, and caring. She has a calming voice, which I assume is pertinent to the profession. She is also direct and helpful, and she offers tools and recordings to utilize outside of session. I have found them to be useful. But again, it will depend on your reasons for seeing her, as I assume these things vary. Most importantly for me, I leave every session feeling like I learned something new about myself. That is a MUST for me in my journey. I found her prices to be competitive with others. The only downside to hypnotherapy is that insurance doesn't cover it. But on the bright side, you only go in for a few sessions so you're spending less in the long run. I think it's worth the investment. No doubt, Kira deserves 5 stars. I appreciate all of her help and hope everyone else has an equally positive experience with her.

I got an email today from 30/10 saying that they are now offering programs for kids. Please do not…read moreput your kid through this. I was 18 when I began this program and it was a horrible experience. Most of your meals are pre-packaged powder and you eat 600 calories a day (if that). This diet puts so much stress on your body. I was having anxiety attacks more frequently, my hair was falling out, I felt like sleeping all day because my body wasn't getting enough calories. I would come home from school and cry on the floor for hours because I felt so weak and depressed. Not to mention that my parents spent thousands of dollars on this program. Sure you lose the weight, but it does major damage to your body in the long term. If you want a healthy and sustainable solution to weight loss, I suggest you go to the gym across the parking lot. Consider speaking with a nutritionist. Please do not put your child through this program!

It took me many years to FINALLY be at a place in my life to walk into a business like 30/10 and…read moresay I need help. I am glad I did. I finally had enough, waved my white surrender flag and walked in the doors Dec 7, 2017. Immediately I was met by the team (Megan, Shannon, Natalie & Cassie) and started the program. The motivation was for me. I didn't like how I felt, how I moved, how breathing was hard. But I also wanted to live a better life, be a role model for my kids and ultimately be around for them much longer than projected. At first I struggled with accepting it would work, thinking just around the corner I was going to suddenly gain it all back. I was so programmed for failure. Each week the team met with me, dealt very professionally with a gazillion questions and cheerfully greeted me when I came in the door (even when sometimes I was a bit gruff or not ready to trust the program). Each week I saw success, consistently dropping pounds and body fat. If you stick to it (THIS IS KEY) and stop making excuses (oh I went out, was at a friends house, had a party, etc) and make a choice for you, YOU can do this. I told everyone at work what I was doing and why. I felt the team needed to know why I might go out, drink or whatever. I told friends, family and everyone who might listen. I stopped drinking alcohol day 1 and went through the holiday season without a drop. I just told family/friends/work folks what I was doing and had 100% support, no questions. It made the holidays better as I would have "Dad's meal" and everyone else would have the rest. It didn't matter, I lost 15 lbs through December! It made me realize I could be successful and could say no. I can direct what is going into my mouth. My journey started out at 250.2 lbs. Today I am 174. I fluctuate a couple lbs up and down which is fine by me. I am learning and growing each day what is healthy to eat, how to maintain my loss and how to live longer for myself and my family. This works. It's expensive. I bet I would have spent similar amount of $$ going out drinking/eating that I put towards this personal effort. About 65 lbs of fat gone! I am motivated as ever to keep it off. Do it for yourself first and then do it for others. It works. You just gotta stick to it. You have to own your actions and take responsibility and think ahead in a handful of situations. Do it.

The sessions themselves were relaxing and thoughtfully guided, and I always felt supported and respected during our time together. However, I hired her specifically for weight loss, and unfortunately, I did not lose any weight despite committing significant time, effort, and money to the process. I truly wanted this to work -- but it simply did not produce results for me. I understand that hypnosis may work very well for some people. It just wasn't effective in my case, and I wish I had known sooner so I could have redirected my time and money elsewhere. If you're looking for a caring practitioner and are curious about hypnosis, she may be a good fit.
