I am not a frequent Yelper but wanted to take a minute to chat about my experience with Kira. I'll try and keep it brief.... First, when it comes to the medical field, I have mostly been a mainstream guy. But because of some anxiety issues that I haven't been able to overcome with medicine and Dr's visits, I decided to give hypnotherapy a try. I took a huge leap of faith and e-mailed Kira after finding her on-line. She made me feel comfortable and at ease with what I wanted help with. Second, I'm not a stuck in the house, unable to step out into the world person who needs to take baby steps just to get to the mailbox--although I'm pretty confident that Kira could help with that too. I'm a 40's something professional that struggled in random settings to the point where I break out in a sweat. The weird thing is sometimes I did, and sometimes I didn't Counseling didn't seem to help, Prescriptions didn't seem to help. I needed to mine deeper to figure out what was going on. Third, my visits to Kira was just over a month ago. Her office is comfortable and easy to get to and I didn't feel ashamed talking to her about my challenges. We got directly to the root of my fears and developed some techniques to deal with them on the fly. I had a total of two visits with her and have been consistently seeing improvement in my anxiety issues since. I may not be out of the woods, but so far I'm very happy with the improvements. Finally, Kira is reasonably priced and doesn't up-sell you on a package of visits. You visit her just as much as you need, nothing more. I joked with her about that flawed business plan--mentioning that if she is giving people the tools to deal with their fears so quickly (and not needing follow-up visits) that she's working her way out of a job. She replied that word of mouth from satisfied customers is how she stays busy. I thought I'd take to social media to provide some of that good word for her. I can't recommend Kira enough and wish I'd had some of what she taught me years ago. I think I missed some opportunities in life because I was handcuffed by unreasonable psychosomatic responses (AKA--I pored sweat when I didn't need to) and didn't want to be embarrassed. After two other hypnotherapists failed to produce results for anxiety that had been with me for the majority of my life, I went to see Kira. Well, as they say, third time's a charm. Kira's approach is to get to the root of your problem. The sessions were very personalized towards me and did not feel scripted. The most amazing revelation was that what had been diagnosed as anxiety by other counselors and doctors, was actually a phobia that I'd picked up when I was a child, and the constant anxiety was a result of that phobia. Through hypnosis, we were able to bring that early memory to the surface and deal with it. I thought that such crippling anxiety must be attached to some deep dark negative experience that my mind was suppressing, but the actual cause was almost comical from the perspective of an adult. But to a child, those experiences are your whole life. Once that connection was made between the event and the feelings of anxiety, progress was unbelievably rapid with tangible, measurable results coming the next day. Kira promotes "testing" your results so that you are proving to yourself that your mind is dealing with situations in a different way. It creates a positive feedback loop of reinforcement. As amazing as these changes have been, it doesn't feel like magic - it feels NORMAL, like I'm operating in the manner I was designed for. I recall each session, and honestly I don't feel like I was "under". It just felt like I was very calm and relaxed, and had the ability to recall early events of my life with extreme vividness. If you were going to climb Everest, you'd hire a Sherpa to get you where you wanted to go. Kira is that guide. All of my life I have suffered extreme anxiety and tended to worry about everything. Work was an especially anxious subject for me and caused me no small amount of mental and physical distress. As I have gotten older I have become determined to not continue on in this manner and instead reach out for things that could help. My first step was going to a psychiatrist and trying various medications. While some helped a bit, nothing really felt like it got to the core of the problem. After a particularly hard 2014 I was pointed toward Kira at Hypno on the Hill. I had never done hypnotherapy before and was a bit skeptical but was willing to try it. Anxiety is hard to tackle as it isn't a specific habit or trait that needs to be addressed and instead it is a state of mind, so I was worried about how effective hypno would be. But after meeting Kira, I knew that this was my best shot! Kira was very professional, caring and created an extremely comfortable environment allowing me to feel secure in opening up and giving my all. After the first session I felt relaxed and refreshed and on the drive home I just felt calm. Well, it has been three months now and I have had barely an anxious moment (except maybe during Seahawks games!). I'm able to take work as it comes and simply do my best without making myself physically sick from worry. I'm still amazed that this change occurred and that it seemed so effortless, but there is no debating that a major shift in my life has happened. Kira's ability and talent is amazing! I'm extremely appreciative for the help she has given me and words can't express how my outlook on life has changed in these last months! I was referred to Kira by a family friend and it has been the most life changing referral I have been given in my 32 years. When I first met with Kira I came to her with multiple issues, some stemming from my earliest childhood. In the past I have tried several forms of therapy with different degrees of success. What set Kira apart was her ability to grasp the complexity of my issues. From the very beginning she helped me work on myself in a quick, orderly and logical progression. I was referred to Kira by my wonderful naturopath. Kira, according to her, would be a part of the bootcamp that she had assigned for me to work on for the next few months, to address life trauma, phobias, insecurity, anxiety, fear and much more. Of all the therapists and activities recommended by my naturopath, Kira's hypnosis sessions were one of the first things I signed up for. Kira has been a godsend for me. She is extraordinarily encouraging and supportive. She has been helping me strip away years of fear and trauma and experience the feeling of openness, joy, peace, connection and freedom that are coming out of a more centered 'me'. Kira is phenomenal. This may seem overly dramatic, but seriously this woman can change your life. She's a really welcoming person; plus she has a nice voice, which probably helps for hypno. For me, it was smoking cigarettes. Been doing it for more than half of my life at this point, and felt like I've tried everything in the book to quit. Gum, books, cold turkey, acupuncture, patches, herbal supplements, and on and on and on... Except hypnosis. Based on a recommendation from a friend, I went to see Kira with an open mind, but a little bit of skepticism. Could this really work? Turns out, yes. It can really work. Kira was able to help me figure out the base reasons I was smoking (they were not the reasons I expected), and what it was I really wanted that I was substituting smoking for. That alone was probably worth the first session, just to get that insight. I recommend following her advice/homework suggestions to a T from the start. I made a point of NOT doing that after the 1st session (see previous mention of skepticism), as sort of a test of the hypno to see how well it worked... WOW. Without even trying, I went from about a pack a day to at most 5 cigs a day. If I had actually done exactly what she said, I think I would have been done smoking after one session. Kira was fabulous. First off, she's got this incredible positive energy that you feel when she meets with you. Secondly, you feel that she really understands what you want to work on, but to top it off, she knows how to target the area that you are having challenges with. I felt that Kira was really on my side, and really wanted to help me achieve my goals. I was totally blown away by her results with me. I went through what I was instructed to do, and it worked perfectly. I was really amazed by the results. It's been just over a week, and I'm still receiving benefits from my session. The money I spent on this session, was peanuts, to the quality of life I've been striving for years to achieve. I have more energy, and now I'm 50% more productive in my personal/business life. I had a great experience seeing Kira for hypnotherapy about my nail biting habit. I have bitten my nails for as long as I can remember. While I had never been embarrassed per se of my habit, it was certainly nothing to be proud of. But now, as a professional, I became embarrassed to be in meetings with colleagues and especially clients. It is amazing how easy it is to relax and open up with Kira. Her voice is incredibly soothing, and she does a fabulous job at preparing you for what to expect about the hypnotherapy process. I saw Kira twice, a week apart. By the time I returned for my second visit I could already see whites on the tips of all my nails. I think what is the most amazing thing is how quickly the habit disappears. I went to Hypno on the Hill for help quitting smoking. I'd been smoking all of my adult life. All previous attempts to quit had begun with frustration and rage and ended with failure and resignation. I decided to give hypnotherapy a chance. In one session, Kira brought me to understand the reasons why I smoked and put me in a position where choosing not to was easy. And I feel perfectly confident I'll continue to choose not to smoke for the rest Kira has great empathy and perception. I immediately felt comfortable and at ease in her presence. Looking to drop a couple decades long habits, I found Kira via web search. In just two sessions, the first habit was gone (now going on two months with no relapse). The second habit was more deeply seeded and tied to traumatic childhood events (over 4 decades ago). Kira was able to navigate this with me and in one and a half sessions, that habit has also been relegated to the history books. I've tried prescriptions, replacement/substitutes, aversion and just about every other means of discontinuing the two habits with no luck previously. The work I did with Kira paid immediate dividends. I've worked with other hypnotherapists (helping my wife and I prepare for the home births of each of our two sons) and they were also good, but Kira's style and demeanor were top notch. I was referred to Kira by my therapist. My therapist had a couple of clients that were already helped by her. After long-term unemployment and some life trauma, I had become really stuck with some anxiety that I couldn't move through- even with talk therapy and medication. After my first session at Hypno on the Hill, I was able to apply for my first job in months! Not only that, I was excited about it! (A few days later I got a call back on that job.) I needed to quit smoking, I've tried before with no success... nothing worked, and I tried EVERYTHING! I've smoked for 25 years and this was my last hope. Kira was incredible! She was welcoming and understanding, never judged me, she made me feel comfortable and was very professional. If I could rate Kira higher than five stars, I would. I've struggled with some claustrophobia issues for probably 25 years or more. After the first session, I was able to quite comfortably do things I hadn't been able to do for a long time. I probably would not have considered hypnotherapy, except for the fact that my daughter had dramatic, full and complete help with an issue she'd been stuck with since her teen years. I thought, "Well, if Kira helped my daughter, maybe she could help me!" I highly recommend seeing Kira for any phobias or compulsions you might have. She is so gentle and sweet, and the sessions are full of empathy and understanding. I loved that there was absolutely NO condemnation or guilt associated with her practice and in her sessions. Kira is amazing. While I was very skeptical, she reassured me that was normal. As it turns out, if you need help an believe something will help, it will! It's cliche, but if you have a little faith everything is possible. I have managed to rewire parts of my mind I never thought I could, thanks to Kira's compassionate and understanding guidance. Yes, it's challenging and you have to be honest with yourself, but it's worth it:) Kira is talented and is really interested in helping people. She informed me up front that if I felt it wasn't working, we would discontinue as she wouldn't feel comfortable taking my money if it wasn't helping. I was referred to her by a friend who had quit smoking through hypnotherapy. I wanted desperately to quit for a myriad of reasons, namely it was just time. I honestly didn't think it would work for me. And during the first session, I was secretly planning my next cigarette (for smoking cessation there are two appointments). At the end of that session she said, "OK, you are now a non-smoker." She gave me some instructions (which I followed), and I was SHOCKED I didn't smoke after that meeting. I had a slight urge to smoke after that meeting, but it was if I just didn't have it in me anymore. I haven't smoked a cigarette since that initial meeting, and it has been more than 7 months. A fear of heights is OK, but I had a totally excessive, irrational fear. A relative suggested hypnotherapy; I looked online and found Kira. She was amazing. After the first session, Kira said I should go up the Space Needle - I'd been up there just once before but had not been able to go onto the outer deck. This time, I went up, and walked around the outer deck, looked down, everything was fine.
