Worst haddock ever had - drowning in some kind of weird oil. Comes with 2 sides. Asked for veggies and salad so waitress offered 3 vegetables -- one was asparagus which she neglected to mention was an upcharge of $3.99 - Also apparently salad is NOT a side - I was charged another $3.49 for that -- so 3 separate charges for the 3 things I ordered -- meal was $7.49 more than what was on the menu - only found out when bill came. I was happy to finally get the meal I had been craving for a very long time after living out west I missed my favorite meal so after 4 yrs I ordered. the French Onion soup, which reminded me of dishwater. The Shrimp was not cooked and had the poop thingie still in some of the shrimp. I ordered and just undercooked. And the lettuce wedge, oh my! Went here with the family and enjoyed my meal, 12oz steak with loaded baked potatoe and salad. Steak was cooked perfect to med rare. Buffalo finger appetizer was good as well as I like their extra crunchy coating and spot on Buffalo sauce. Service was great and appreciated the humor of the staff during our visit. First of all I'd like to thank the manager of the restaurant , he contacted me and respectively listened to me. I returned on 4/12/23 and had the best waitress, her name is Stephani. Sheesh... First, the manager was sitting right there, missing what was plainly in front of him while he was obviously more interested in his brew vendor than his staff and patrons. The server was loud, brash, shrill, inappropriate. She should really be concerned with her deportment, as should the "manager." She paused halfway to the new patron, carrying the obligatory popcorn when she stopped to talk loudly to her girl friend about how she had pneumonia, as did her kids, but (cough) "don't worry because I am not contagious." She then failed in the basic 5 patron protocols (John Taffer would tear them both a new one), no proper greeting, no setups until she happened to think about it later, continued to talk loudly about her family's pneumonia, and took the order, finally. The steak came absolutely dry, charred, over-well done, virtually inedible, but, not being 'that guy' who sends it back, tried to eat it along with the overcooked sides. The server had the class to ask me to pay because it was the shift change. When the patron commented that the server surprised by not asking how the meal was. She grinned and said, "Yeah, that, too " ! The patron explained about the sorry meal and her deportment, calling it "The least pleasant dining experience in 50 years," and asked how the order had been presented to the chef. She lied to the patron saying "Well done, like you asked." The patron told the lying server that she, indeed, had been so preoccupied and self-absorbed, talking loudly about her sickness, and boasting about finally getting her mail-order BA diploma, that she had never asked the patron how the steak should be prepared. DO quit your day job, please, and please be that college graduate. Hope that works for you. You lost thousands of dollars for your employer. Absolutely egregious server, manager, establishment. If I could give 0 stars I would. Food was okay but service was terrible. Our waiter Bradley was very rude and not attentive at all. Took him forever just to get drinks nevermind how long it took for him to bring the check after we asked for it twice. We might try here again as long as he is not waiting on us. Talk about a disappointing experience ... The staff are pleasant & nice ... But definitely lost my appetite about two bites into my meal when I pulled a long hair from my food. My stomach curled. As the waitress witnessed it first hand as she had come over to check on the table. This is unacceptable & disgusting ... Wish I could say at least the appetizers were good, but those were gross as well. The manager Gordon came over to the table and was very apologetic about the entire experience and took care of the bill for us. Listen folks this is a chain restaurant. Its not a five star gourmet, nor is it a mom and pop shop working extra hard to get your repeat visits. It is what it is. Came here last night for night out with friends. Food was pretty good. Nothing to complain about there. The few things that knocked it down a bit for me: 1. the bathroom was a disaster! toilet paper all over the place, seats wet with who knows what. Floors sticky. Now this was the rush hour dinner time, but my goodness someone needs to go in there and check it out a few times during their rush period. 2. Waitress wasnt bad but not great either. We were there for almost 3 hours so we tipped extremely well. 3. My wife and I picked up take out twice in the past month and both times the turkey tips were excellent. We both had great portions and extra gravy for our mashed potatoes. We were recently there for drinks and apps. I couldn't help to notice how empty the place was overall. Back a few years ago, you wouldn't be able to get a seat at the bar - on this night there were plenty, lots of parking too. The beer was cold and the service at the bar was good, but the apps, that's another story. We got an order of buffalo chicken tenders. I was shocked when the lady placed them in front of us. It looked like the tenders had broken into pieces. It wasn't just one, it was like they handed us a dish of leftover chicken tender parts. My immediate thought was, how could anyone place this in front of a paying customer? I would be embarrassed and tell the kitchen this isn't acceptable. One tender was so dark, not sure why - either old oil or it was burned. Some tasted fresh while others tasted like they had been sitting around (cold and tough) but refreshed with some hot sauce. I came really close to taking a picture, thinking nobody will believe this. But, after seeing some recent reviews, I'm sure this isn't too hard to believe. I went here for the first time last night to play Trivia with a few friends and was very happy with this establishment. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. I would like to give a special Kudos to Lisa, the bartender. She was outstanding and was very attentive and friendly, even though the bar was extremely busy. I understand good/decent restaurants are always slammed on Saturday nights. After waiting on hold for 7 minutes someone answered the phone. I told them I'd like to place an order.. they told me to hold on a minute. I have been critical of the 99's in the past because the quality of food was not good at all but over the last few visits I have seen improvement. But today was OUTSTANDING!! Rich recommend the scallops and they were a perfect 10. My daughter had the chicken sausage pasta meal 10. My wife has the steak sandwich 10. Thank you for the amazing improvement. I plan on coming back more often again. And I started coming to the Lynnfield location in 1972. read more

Very disappointed with our experience at this location. First the hostess was very rude and had her arms crossed while seating us at the table. Our waitress was very nice until we paid using the QR code on the receipt. Where it says pay the bill. After we paid using the QR code we were chased down by the waitress and manager about paying our bill we told them we had paid using the QR code. She replied no one ever does that. Great Northeast Chain Restaurant... I have stopped by for beers and food here a few times since relocating to Mass. It will always hold a special place in my heart since I watched the Celtics whip on the Lakers for the 2008 NBA Championship! YES! I am impressed with this chain for a bunch of reasons: 1. Great Bar setup with Televisions all around 2. Reasonable drink specials 3. Popcorn at the bar 4. Variety of the menu 5. Quality food at a great price. Most important of all, my blackberry doesn't get a great signal here so it is a perfect spot to grab lunch and get a way from work for a spell. ;) read more

Ninety Nine is a chain restaurant in the New England region, but the bars at all their locations somehow always have a local feel. You can tell some of these people are regulars which in itself is a compliment for a chain. This location is near my work, so went for a Friday lunch and it was just as good as the location by where I live. Consistency is everything with a chain restaurant, especially when the trend is consistent quality and good service. I had my usual steak tips and fries. They were cooked to perfection and served with cole slaw as well. We had to sit at the bar as the place was jammed at noon hour. The bartender was very busy, but also super attentive with a very friendly disposition. She was chatting and having fun with the customers, but seemed to be very efficient. If I didn't have to return to work, I am sure that staying for afternoon drinks would have been a pleasant alternative. read more

This review is for Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 Wanted to watch the Red Sox game. Didn't enjoy the Saugus location the last time there, and didn't feel like going to Revere. So figured we'd try this one in Lynnfield. Sat in the bar. Instant service. Ordered the Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla for the app. it was excellent! Had a Sam Adams Summer Ale to go with it. Very nice! Also had a small caesar salad. Yum! For the entree. Had the Bacon & Cheese SteakBurger. Medium well. Again it was excellent. Along with fries. It was the typical experience for me at a 99. Based on three recent visits to this location: Food is good like all of their locations (I'm not a huge "chain restaurant" fan, but I'm always happy with the 99 food quality & value). Each time I visited this location, I have had my elderly mother with me. On each visit, the staff has been very helpful & kind with respect to both her limited mobility, & special food preparation requests. My visit on 7/9/2015 was no exception: everyone on staff was super friendly & helpful, & our meals were delicious. read more

How has the Ltown 9s not received a review yet? This place is like my second home. Being 1 of the 2 primary drinking establishments in Lynnfield, it's a given that it'd be a success. To be honest, the food is certainly decent - buffalo wings, gold fever wings, tomato basil soup, baked scrod.. all tasty and, of course, extremely affordable. The chain changes its menu often, which can be a bummer - was sad to see the nachos go, though I believe they're back again! BUT, the atmosphere is what it's all about. It's like the Cheers of Lynnfield.. every time you go in, you're going to know several people (minimum) and at least one bartender. Rich, Tony, Steve, Bob, Dave, Shannon, the list of legends goes on.. always make you feel welcome and seem genuinely happy to see you. What can I say - it's the 9s... home away from home! read more

99 is for 99 percent ambivalent about eating here. Best to do this in a narrative: I haven't been to 99's in years and had only been to the one in The Woo. The menu was pretty big -not mega like Chili's but decent. The first things I noticed were the haphazard table "setting" and DIRTY floors -like HUGE patches of black crud and detritus all over the place. I wanted to try the ribs and chicken tender combo plate. GF asked about steamed veggies. The waitress said, "We don't have steamed veggies until tomorrow... I mean we HAVE them but not today because we got a shipment of veggies today but they were all brown." Whoa. I then asked how the ribs are. She said, "I would not recommend them. A lot of people complain about them." Whoa. I asked about the fish tacos and she said that they are really good. So I got 'em and GF got the turkey tips. The tacos were good -not Baja material, of course, but yumskis in there own way. They were crispy and the lime-cilantro rice was hot (mostly likely due to nuking) but the gwauk was becoming brownish but was passable. The tacos were $9.99 -a good deal and you get three beefy-sized ones. GF's T-tips were good and had a sweet-sauce biscuit with baby carrots and slaw. GF asked for extras limes for her diet pop, and I asked for more napkins. The waitress bought the limes but never brought the nappies. If you need food on the go, 99's is OK.
